Just purchased this machine a month ago and so far it's wonderful. My question concerns laundry detergent. Since it uses less water, do you use less detergent? I called Whirlpool and they said to use the "normal" amount. Didn't sound right to me.
Yes, use less than a regular machine. Buy soap the has the HE logo on it. When you look inside the cap, you will see a line close to the bottom of the cap. That is the amount you use. It is maybe a 1/4 inch of soap. If you overuse soap, your machine will smell moldy/musty.
If you have a water softener, you use about a third of the amount you would use for HE. (high efficiency)
