very capable photo editing and video production

Since these are essentially three separate bundled products let me first start with the Organizer, this program allows you to import all your media, apply tags and sort and filter. If you have an extensive media library (I have almost twenty years of digital media consisting of photos and video) it makes it extremely handy to view with Organizer and of course bring directly into Photoshop Elements (photos) or Adobe Elements (video) to include in your projects. I have struggled with sorting through all this digital media and have not found a program that has done this as well since I had product called ThumbsPlus which was discontinued years ago.
Adobe Photoshop Elements provides you with a plethora of tools to fix and tune existing photos, create slick looking slide shows and add creative elements to your photos. It is geared towards a mid-level consumer who wants to do a little more than simple tuning provided as part of your photo app in the typical smartphone. I especially like the slider tool that can show before and after views of your photo as you apply different elements and tuning. The program is very capable, has a bit of a learning curve, but is able to perform some interesting tasks along with the most basic standard tuning. For convenience it offers Quick (which provides basic tuning functions and Auto Fix), Guided (a mode which guides you through an editing process) and Expert (which basically leaves it to you to use all the tools available in any way you choose). There is quite a bit of help available within the program and video tutorials, but be aware most if not all of it is online based and not installed locally on your computer, so if you do not have an internet connection at the time, you will not be able to access it (this applies to the Adobe Premier Elements product also). A good product that offers more than the basic tools and is less intimidating than Adobe Photoshop, most non-professionals will find that is more than adequate for their needs.
Adobe Premier Elements is the video editing tool in this suite, it is very capable and also provides Quick, Guided and Expert modes. I have been playing with the program for a little while and find that it is pretty responsive, sporadically locking for a few seconds during editing. I did decide while using the program that my laptop was not the most capable machine for editing video, with 8GB of RAM and a lower tier Intel i5 processor with an integrated graphics chip. I updated my Desktop to one that is more suitable for video editing an 8 core processor, 4GB discrete video card and a Solid State Drive (SSD). I do think the SSD is critical to a good experience with video creation as it provides fast file access and improves the speed in rendering (producing you final video file). As for the program, it offers a bunch of different options to create videos, including a pretty neat feature where you can place different videos in separate windows in the video you create, almost like a multi camera shoot. You can also use this function to create a collage of videos in a single video. Overall there is a lot to explore and play with in this program, again there are a help resources available within the program and you need an internet connection to access them.

rich sound, nicely built

Just got the Plantronics BackBeat FIT 305 wireless earbuds, they connect to your device via Bluetooth and each of the earbuds are attached to each other via a nice braided cord, with the usual on/off, volume, multifunction control block of towards the right ear bud. These wireless earbuds connect via Bluetooth seamlessly and sound awesome. I was actually pretty surprised by the clarity of sound provided by these earbuds. When listening to my goto set of tunes I noticed sounds that I have not heard since I used higher end, closed ear headphones. These are comfortable to wear and the battery lasted me about six hours at moderate volume. The package includes a small bag with USB charging cord and two other pairs of different size earbuds. I am very happy with these earbuds as they sound great and are built with a high level of quality.

good video surveillance solution

This is my second set of Arlo products, I am adding two of the newer, more capable Arlo 2 cameras to my existing Arlo base-station which remains unchanged between generations of Arlo and Arlo 2. This system is really easy to setup, install the rechargeable battery in the camera, charge it and press a button on the base-station and camera simultaneously to link the camera to the base-station, easy and simple. The cameras are weatherproof and the rechargeable battery lasts almost SIX months, at least for my use cases. The images and video this setup provides is of high quality, with configurable motion detection and night vision. The Arlo system provides an all in one solution with free cloud recording (an available premium level service is available). You can download and install the Android or IOS app which provides just about all the functionality you would need (real time alerts, viewing and some configuration options). Two major differences I see between the Arlo (720p/130 degree field of vision) and Arlo 2 (1080p/170 degree field of vision). Now you would think the Arlo 2 would have an advantage over the older model, it does 1080p resolution and has a wider field of vision (170 degrees). The only downside I see is the wider field of view has a more distorted image, similar to a fish eye lens (see the difference in the sample pics). Depending on your use case the wider view might make sense. For instance you can see the entire front of my shed in my sample pic, however you can see how vertical lines bend. In any case this is a solid solution and easy to setup.

I have been using the Sony 1000X Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones for a few days now. They are earbud type wireless headphones that connect via Bluetooth and have no wires. I held out some promise for these earbuds, they are sleek and much smaller and compact than their similar other brands. A small compact charging case is handy and acts as a storage station for when they are not in use. They are batteries are rated for 3 hours of use per charge, but I routinely got near 4 to 5 hours. These compact earbuds have provide pretty decent sound quality that can be adjusted through the use of a installable free mobile app from Sony, that ives you much flexibility in regards to tuning the sound for your preference. You can also turn on the active noise canceling or change to two other sound processing modes, that allow more ambient noise to pass through the earbuds. I find this useful for carrying on conversations with people in your listening space while making using them for a phone call. I have not seen these functions in other units, very cool. Now the bad news, the noise cancelling is not that effective, I used them in the last week on a 3 hour flight and they did not provide the level of noise cancelling I would expect. The wired $40 a pair active noise cancelling earbuds I have been using for the last two years do a substantially better job. Unfortunate as I often use this function when traveling or mowing the lawn.

the Shark Robot does a surprisingly good job on cleaning up. It works equally well cleaning carpets as it does bare floors. I had heard about these robot vacuums for awhile, but they never really interested me much, however I am now a fan. The unit comes with a remote, a charging dock and extra filters, brushes and a roll of tape that you can use to mark "territory" where the vacuum should not go.. It has the ability to run on a schedule and automatically go through a cleaning cycle, as the battery gets low it will automatically dock with the charging station and recharge.

I use this electric chopper to dice tomatoes and onions, it is very good at chopping up vegetables and other ingredients into small chunks. This is due to the design which includes two different type blades, one that includes a basket, allowing pieces to fall through the basket into the bottom portion of the chopper. This is useful especially for items (such as tomatoes, onions and cheeses) that you don't want to turn into a paste like substance that a standard food processor would create. I can think of a few other ingredients this chopper would do a good job on, including creating finely chopped ice. The second blade provided acts as a chopper similar to a food processor. The unit is built well and cleans up easily with really only three parts to clean (four if you use the basket). Overall this is a nice chopper if you do a lot of food preparation, it is kind of a niche item.

The SA320 widescreen monitor from Acer is a quality, well built LED backlit monitor. It offers a HDMI and a VGA style inputs and is powered by an AC adapter as opposed to the standard AC plug, so you need to use the provided power pack. The performance of this monitor is pretty impressive, images are very clear and provides a high level of contrast. The monitor is very light and thin and includes the standard stand which is easy to assemble. Overall I am very pleased with this monitor.

Bose quality, questionable convenience and fit

The Bose SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones are basically two separate earbuds, they are very similar to the Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones (which has a wire between the two earbuds). Both versions connect via Bluetooth to your device. They sound identical, functioning the same as the version that is wired between the buds. These earbuds deliver the traditional Bose clear, crisp audio with good volume. I feel like they fit in your ear awkwardly, even with using different earbud sizes provided, they are what I would consider somewhat top heavy. The lack of a wire does not provide as much of a convenience as you would think. Although I have to admit that similar to the Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones these earbuds are quite big and feel that way in your ear. If there is a downside, it is the size, occasionally it will feel as they could fall out of your ear. I have used wireless Bluetooth earbuds before that are smaller and feel more secure in your ears, not sure how these would hold up during a spirited run. The earbuds come with their own case which is necessary for recharging, it a also a super way to protect them. However if you forget the case I don’t really see a way of charging them. As with other Bose models these are sweat and weather resistant. Overall I like these earbuds, however I am not sure I would pay the premium for the elimination of the wire between each of the speaker buds.

Great Vacuum, highly maneuverable

Assembling the Shark – Flex DuoClean HV391 Upright Vacuum seems daunting at first, a half dozen part to assemble. However after looking at the instructions you realize it is fairly simple and took me no longer than 5 to 7 minutes. The motor on this unit is on the top and is fairly light, I commented to my wife that it has the appearance of a weed trimmer. After it was assembled I immediately put it to use on a bare floor, picked up crumbs and dirt in my kitchen with ease. Initially for someone that never owned a similar vacuum it seems a little strange given that it is top heavy, however the brush and pickup are SUPER easy to maneuver. The unit did a very good job in cleaning every spec of loose particles off the floor. On carpets it does an equally excellent job, the brush mechanism seems to pull the unit forward as you use it, making for a fatigueless cleaning experience. The system comes with a few attachments which lead to a very versatile unit indeed. We are very happy with the Shark – Flex DuoClean HV391 Upright Vacuum even to the point of my wife commenting that it is better than the other leading, smartly designed vacuum we own.

- seamlessly transitions between floor types (bare floors, over mats and carpets)

Quality Keurig product

I am the first to admit that not really a huge coffee drinker, in fact I drink tea most of the time. However others in my family do drink coffee and often need to brew a cup or two quickly while headed out in the morning. This Keurig carries on their tradition of producing quality k-cup coffee makers. It has a large water reservoir (52 oz) with a built in filter to produce a quick and clean cup of whatever you want to brew. I chose tea for the first cup and it was hot and strong, this brewer has a "strong" option to brew a more robust cup of whatever you choose. In addition it offers four different brewing sizes (6, 8, 10, 12 oz.) and will accommodate and readily fill my daughter's yeti insulated cup. You can debate the economics of k-cups (certainly for tea it is cost prohibitive), however most people use these coffee makers for the convenience and this unit certainly provides that. It is well built and has a programmable auto off feature (although this model does not have a programmable start feature). This unit certainly is quieter and more efficient than the earlier model Keurig it replaced. It comes with a k-cup sampler of five different coffee and a hot chocolate (interesting). My coffee drinkers are happy campers and are now ready for the cold mornings that are to come later this year.

DVD media was included in my package, however my computer doesn't have a DVD drive so I had to goto Adobe's site to download the installations
