This was an upgrade from a previous second generation Android tablet I purchased a few years back, same basic form factor. The Acer Iconia One eight inch tablet is just about the right size, easy to handle and solidly constructed with a hard plastic back cover with squared somewhat rounded edges. I prefer this tablet over my previous Samsung which had fully rounded edges which made the device very hard to keep in your hand(s). The rear facing 5.0 camera does protrude quite a bit from the cover, almost like it was stuck on as an afterthought.
The Quad-core processor performs fairly well, most programs operate without stutter and are fairly responsive, even though I usually don’t have more than one or two applications open at a time. The display is clear and somewhat crisp although not up to par with premium tablets. Camera performance is mediocre, with neither the front facing 2.0 nor the rear facing 5.0 megapixel photo sensors being anything special, more like a camera phone from 2010. The tablet OS (Android 5.1) is easy to use and is vastly improved for tablet use (my previous Android tablet was essentially using a phone OS). Acer includes some bloatware, some of it useful and some not, however it is easy removed and/or moved once you start personalizing the tablet. Wi-Fi seems tricky; I had some problems with dropped connections that seemed to occur on the 5ghz band. Also seems when the tablet is stationary (for instance when viewing a movie) dropouts do not occur, strange and sometimes annoying.
Pros: Android Lolipop 5.1, fairly responsive, nice form factor and design, long battery life, front facing charge indicator (red while charging, green when fully charged), value priced.
Cons: Poor quality speaker, protruding rear facing camera lens, screen has edge light leaks when displaying dark screens, Spotty Wi-Fi performance.
In conclusion this is a bargain basement tablet that performs fairly well and shouldn’t be mistaken for a top of the line tablet. I’d say wrap this thing in a childproof case and give it to the kids to use, you’ll feel much better if this breaks as opposed to a $400 model.

This device can be used to extend your wireless network in large houses, it has two modes one which extends and repeats your wireless signal with the option of hooking up one device (or hub) to the gigibit ethernet port. I used it in the Access Point mode which extends your network by a wired connection (using the same ethernet port) and connecting to your existing network. The quality of the wireless signal is similiar to other Linksys MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output wireless routers. The 2.4 & 5ghz signals provide a flawless connection. I did have difficulty initially setting up the device and getting to the configuation page for the device, but once I found the IP address of the device I was able to bring up the configuration utility. Overall this is a good device to extend you network. However using another wireless router is sometimes also an option if you have the technical expertise, otherwise the extender is a good, easy option.
Your household is busy streaming media, working online, and playing games every day. This Linksys Wi-Fi Router will expand your network coverage, send signals directly to your devices, and deliver a lag-free connection, even when you’re all online at the same time.

After having a long history (good) with Linksys routers I have started to look at upgrading my home network infrastructure. My home network is not simple, has many devices such as Wireless IP Cameras, Multimedia Devices, Network Attached Storage and the usual mix of laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile devices which at time put a strain on my network. I upgraded my Linksys EA6200 Wireless router with a new EA9500 Linksys AC5400 Tri-Band WI-FI router. Unboxing this router and seeing what a sizeable piece of equipment this is can intimidate and inspire all at the same time as you know it must be packed with good stuff. Some of that good stuff includes eight Gigabit ports for local devices, two USB ports (one of the 3.0 variety), two VLAN ports and eight antenna which are able to be swiveled and repositioned, a detected on/off switch. My wife commented that the router looks like a drone! In any case hooking this device up and configuring it is straightforward, I didn’t use the Linksys Smart Wifi online setup as I am familiar with the setup of Linksys routers from using other products, also not a fan of anyone having the configuration of my router on a server somewhere. As I mentioned the setup is straightforward and I copied most of my settings from my previous EA6200 router by using screen shots I had taken of the previous config. This included configuring port forwarding for my IP cameras, hooking up a USB Western Digital drive, configuring the FTP server function that is built into the router and configuring a dynamic DNS service. The router worked flawlessly, provided lightning quick speed and somehow improved my connection to my Internet Service Provider (I suspect since the connection port on the router for your cable modem or device providing your Internet service is also of the Gigibit variety). Speed tests to the internet improved from a typical 11-18 Mbps to 46-56 Mpbs with the new EA9500. I also have a fairly large home with several “dead spots”, this router seems to have no problems blasting a WiFi signal throughout with no real loss of performance. The hard drive I have attached to the USB port also performs substantially better connected to this router, with any file operations taking place almost instantly. Streaming of video from Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and other online sources seems to be vastly improved. I even tested streaming of multiple high bitrate HD home movies from my network attached drive without any buffering issues, quite the testament to how fast this router is. The configuration software has also been improved to display a nice network map, which recognized most of my devices and classified them accordingly. Overall this is a consumer device with business class features and performance; so far I am very happy with it and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
This router delivers powerful wireless performance for a range of home network applications, including streaming 3D high-definition video and multiplayer gaming. Four LAN and 1 WAN Gigabit Ethernet ports allow fast wired connections.

Was promising, but in the end had to buy a Linksys

I use it in...:Large home
I purchased this wireless router to replace a functioning Linksys that I was handing down to my parents since their bottom of the line Trendnet was constantly locking up. Setup of the Netgear was easy and the administration tools were nice and easy to use. However quickly after I installed this I noticed a few things including the range on my garage door opener substantially decreased. Also the 5ghz band seemed unreliable and caused the router to eventually provide no throughput after 24 hours or so, the only way around this was to turn off the 5ghz band (which was one of the main reasons I picked this model). Also the router seemed to lose connectivity to the cable modem, requiring a reboot every day or so. After a two weeks of dealing with the rest of the family complaining about "the internet" I decided to return this and go with what I always found to be a reliable brand: Linksys - picked the EA6200 router and all these issues are resolved.

What's great about it: dual band, speed, cool clear stand
What's not so great: drops connections, locks up, interferes with my garage door opener
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

was at a great price during 4th of July weekend promo, USB 3.0, a little slower than I would like, no end cap, leaving it susceptible to dirt and grim in the connection portion. Great value when I purchased it, but not well suited as a temporary drive for writing video out to during authoring.

nice cute little slider quick messaging phone that does not require a data plan with my carrier. This was for my daughter and she thought it looked like a small iphone (which she really wanted). She put it through lots of use (6500 texts and 12 hours of voice in a month). However after about a month of use she started getting SIM error messages that could only be cleared by removing the battery and restarting the phone. Brought it back to BestBuy Mobile and they replaced the SIM without question, however problem started again less than 24 hours later. Am going to see about returning this phone for another.
What's great about it: compact, nice interface, hardware keyboard, no data plan needed
What's not so great: not sure about long term viability
