Bose usually has an amp that you'll need to bypass.

Anything will be better than stock. You could save a good $400 installing it yourself. The trick is matching the rms wattage on the amps and speakers or subs. Unless you only want bass get a 4 channel amp to power your new door speakers. You want 50 to 60 watts going to your doors because even a new head unit won't be enough power to really power them. Unless you have an extended cab, one good twelve could be plenty since its not in the trunk. I have 300 rms to a single ten in my trunk and its enough to feel it without getting the stink eye at red lights. Go for a class d amp for your subs for sure.

Seriously though, its not that hard to install all this in your truck. There should be plenty of how to videos online that will show how to pull the radio out and pop off the door panels. Just run power and signal cables down opposite sides of the truck. You'll wonder why anyone would pay someone to do this.
