I bought this to increase coverage in my home. At $500 bucks it seemed a bit pricey, but I thought why not? I was previously using an Asus 3100. It was very easy to set up, provided decent coverage, not great, and fast speeds (pegging Speedtest at 250 mbps on the bottom level of my home. Speeds dropped to 130 on the second level. Pretty good. Here's why I took it back. Moving the three units around trying to improve signals and coverage was a pain. No matter where I placed them I couldn't get above 30 mps in the Master Bedroom, a room I had no problems with using the Asus.
The management app was made for novices who don't want to mess with settings. There's not many options. There's also no support for iPV6 (a deal breaker in today's world) and you have to purchase a professional plan to tweak family restrictions, etc...
I mess with settings to open ports, configure stuff, and couldn't. I have a teenager and couldn't put on restrictions the way I could with the Asus unless I paid another 100 a year. And each unit only has 2 wired ports (I have a Netgear Arlo base, WD My Clouds, and a few other things to connect).
And one big thing. I have 6 smart tvs, 4 computers, 3 cell phones and 5 Arlo cameras. I was told this could handle all the devices I could throw at it. That was not my experience. I experienced freezes which disappeared when I hooked my old router back up. In the end I took it back and bought an Asus GT-5300. It fits my needs better.
Would I recommend it? Yes if you don't mind the $$$, don't need custom configurations, and have good luck out of the box.

I bought this to do SafePoint backups for my MyCloud. The first thing I did was manually copy the files over just to be safe. Don't do that if you are connecting this directly to the MyCloud. Connect it to your laptop and a Gigabit cable to a router. Files copy much more quickly over the network than over the MyCloud's USB 3.0 connection.
Anyway, I immediately had Safe point problems. It eventually corrupted the drive. Safepoint would hang at different points. Eventually it corrupted sectors on the drive. I ended up having to re-format the MyBook. After re-formatting, everything worked fine. It works fine now and I haven't had a SafePoint failure since reformatting.
Far much more work than I wanted to go through to get 2 WD products to play well together.

Sturdy and well built. This cable will last a long time. The throughput from my AC1900 Gigabit router is exceptional. I would highly recommend this cable.
