Excellent Sound System
on April 26, 2024
Posted by: Robs
The Q-series 7.1.2 ch. Wireless Dolby ATMOS Soundbar plus Rear Speakers with Q-Symphony is an excellent system that includes a soundbar, a subwoofer, 2 rear speakers, and a rear speaker wireless module. It is even better when paired with a Samsung TV from 2020-2024. That allows the Q-Symphony technology included with this sound system to be utilized. Q-Symphony will pair the sound system with the Samsung TV so that the TV speakers can be used to produce 7.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos sound. I have such a TV, and the technology worked with a simple setup. The sound quality was awesome. But, even if you don't have a qualifying Samsung TV, this sound system would still be worth it. Out of the box, it comes with the soundbar, subwoofer, rear speakers, rear speaker wireless module, HDMI cable, wall mount kit, a rubber foot, and the remote control w/ batteries. The whole system combined weighs about 37 lbs. and is constructed in a way that feels very solid. Some dimensions in inches: the soundbar is 43.7 long, 2.3 tall, and 4.7 deep; the subwoofer is 8.2 wide, 15.8 tall, and 15.8 deep; the rear speakers individually are 3.4 wide, 3.4 deep, 5.7 tall, and weighs 2.6 lbs; and the rear speaker module is 1.9 wide, 7.9 tall, and 5.1 deep, and weighs 1.5 lbs. Setup was very quick. It turns out the included HDMI cord is completely optional as the sound system can connect wirelessly with Wireless Dolby Atmos. The wireless rear speaker module paired with the soundbar flawlessly, and the whole system connected with my Samsung TV quickly. The sound system does work with popular voice assistants, such as Alexa, Bixby, and Google, as well as smart services such as Chromecast, Airplay, and Tidal. The Q-Symphony isn't the only tech the sound system has; it also uses a feature called SpaceFit Sound Pro which will optimize the audio being produced by the sound system to the room that it sits in. This is where it is nice that the soundbar has up-firing speakers which direct some sound toward the ceiling so that when the sound rebounds towards your ear it sounds like there are ceiling speakers. The system does have 4K pass-through which will pass HDCP 2.2 video at 60Hz. As far as Dolby audio formats, the sound system has Dolby ATMOS Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus. For DTS audio formats, the sound system has DTS:X DTS-HD HRA DTS-HD MA and DTS Express DTS 5.1 channel. As I mentioned early, it is awesome to experience the Wireless Dolby Atmos with no associated A/V cords. I watched a 4K movie with the sound system, and it was the best speaker sound experience I have ever experienced. Sound and speech were separately clear, the sound felt like it was coming from everywhere, and it was easy to tweak the sound system to get the sound coming out perfectly for what I wanted. I also used the sound system while playing a PS5, and it was equally incredible with games. Chat was clear, but I could also hear every detail of the FPS I was playing. Later I listened to some orchestra music from YouTube and it sounded crystal clear. I was blown away by how easy it was to setup, tune, and enjoy this amazing system. I would recommend the Q-series 7.1.2 ch. Wireless Dolby ATMOS Soundbar plus Rear Speakers with Q-Symphony for any room setup and for any TV, even if it isn't a Samsung TV. The sound that you will hear when watching your next show or playing your next game will be amazing.

Maximize air flow in your house, office, or dorm with this WOOZOO globe remote controlled fan. The powerful yet compact unit comes with a remote to let you control your desired settings from across the room. Five speed settings let you adjust air flow to your desired strength, and optional natural breeze setting imitates the feeling of the outdoors. The whole room fan oscillates left and right, up and down, or all directions together. Enjoy extra-quiet cooling on the circulator’s virtually silent 'low' setting, and make use of the optional 1, 2, and 4 hour auto-off timer settings. Desktop fan offers maximum power, providing up to 353 ft² area coverage, and the 70 inch cord makes it easy to reach the outlet.

Excellent little fan with remote
on April 2, 2024
Posted by: Robs
The Woozoo Compact Globe Oscillating Fan is a very effective little fan that pushes more air than you would think. Out of the box, the fan requires no assembly. The fan has controls on the unit, but it also has a remote with controls that needs clear plastic tabs removed so that its battery makes contact with the battery terminals. The fan blades are enclosed inside a sphere that sits on a pedestal with a circular base. The controls (on the remote and on the unit) include 5 speeds to choose from, a breeze simulation button, horizontal pattern button, vertical pattern button, and a timer button if you want to set a turnoff timer. Of note is that the fan will do a horizontal and vertical pattern at the same time which maximizes the fan coverage. At the highest speed, the fan is still fairly quiet compared to other fans I have while still blowing quite hard. One thing that is different from other fans I have used is that moving the fan sphere is all done by the unit, not by hand. This is not the sort of fan where you maneuver the face of the fan to point in a certain direction by hand. In this case, you use the controls to move the sphere horizontally and vertically until it is pointing in the desired direction and then push the respective button again to stop it; or you can move the base to change the direction of the entire unit. I love the wind simulation feature because it randomly changes speed just like the breeze from a window. This would be an excellent bedroom fan for warm nights, but it is also a good work fan because it is so quiet and focused. You can put a breeze on yourself without it also being picked up by a mic. I was impressed with this fan and would recommend it for anyone interested in a small fan.

Top of the Line 2.1 PC Speakers
on January 21, 2024
Posted by: Robs
The Razer Nommo V2 Pro Full-Range 2.1 PC Gaming Speakers with Wireless Subwoofer is a superior sound solution for the PC that provides excellent sound, customizable RGB, and options for connectivity. It comes with 4 pieces. There are 2 tabletop speakers that connect to each other, to the PC, and to a power cord. There is a wireless subwoofer that connects to its own power cord. There is a wireless puck/controller that controls power on/off, volume, and connection options. The whole setup feels extremely solid and durable. The desktop speakers have a heft to them that I have not felt with PC speakers before. They are fixed on a pedestal that is very secure; these aren't going to tip over without being physically pushed over. They have RGB that shines through a hard plastic bubble in the back, and the RGB is very well done. I would highly recommend downloading and connecting the speakers to the Razer Synapse app which will update the hardware drivers and allow control of the RGB and customization of the sound. The wireless subwoofer connects to the desktop speakers with a push of the pairing button on the back of it. It does not have RGB, but it feels very sturdy. The wireless puck is a nifty addition. It has a shiny silver top, and the top spins with a textured grip on the outside. Pushing/holding down the top of the puck can control power on, while spinning it controls volume up and down. It doesn't have RGB, but it does have a band that lights up green and blue depending on the status and connection type of the speakers. It takes batteries, but will auto shutdown after so long to save the battery life. It also has a nice heft to it. The solid weight and quality of each of these items made a big impression with me. I have had many Razer items and the top end quality of this speaker system is the best they have ever produced. It can connect via USB-C to the PC, or it can connect via Bluetooth. The sound is fantastic. Previously, I had my PC connected to a soundbar via HDMI. That did pretty well from a volume perspective but not always with clarity. The Razer Nommo V2 is superior in every respect. I can crank up music, games, calls, and not only can it play everything loudly but it also plays everything clearly whether the volume is low, medium, or high. I can't imagine desktop speakers producing a better 2.1 sound. The desktop speakers are angled slightly up and when they are on both sides of my monitor it sounds glorious. In games, when listening to footsteps and trying to understand where other players are on the map, these speakers do so much better than my old soundbar. The woofer produces great bass that you can crank up or down. The RGB customization via the app did a perfect job of allowing me to make the light subtle and to sync it with other RGB items, and to even shut down when the PC shuts down. Using the puck to power the speakers on and control volume is very useful. If you have volume control on your keyboard within finger reach, it may seem duplicative. But I still found myself using the puck and it can provide an unobtrusive but useful indicator on the status of the speakers. I was pretty blown away by the whole setup. The quality and materials used are top notch. The sound quality is superior. They have never lost connection or not powered up exactly when I wanted them to power up. I really like these speakers, and I would recommend them for any gamer or anyone who likes to listen to music on their PC.

Excellend SSD with heatsink for PS5
on January 21, 2024
Posted by: Robs
The Crucial T500 2TB Internal SSD with heatsink is an excellent hard drive. This is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD that is compatible with the PS5, desktop PC and workstation. It has a read speed up to 7400 MB/s and is more than 2 times faster than Gen3. I chose to use it in my PS5 because it comes with a heatsink which is a requirement for any SSD being added to the PS5. I removed it from the box, brought my PS5 over to a table, and followed the official PS5 video tutorial for installing a SSD. This process will not void the PS5 warranty. Following the video tutorial, it took about 5 minutes total to install and reassemble the PS5. It was great to increase the hard drive space in the PS5 from 1TB to 3TB. It is just as fast as the hard drive that came with the PS5; I can't tell any difference in loading or installing games from the new hard drive. To start using it in the PS5, just go into the storage settings for the PS5 and set the rules for where you items to be stored. It accomplished exactly what I wanted it to do and was easy to install. I would recommend this SSD for any use!

Outstanding audio quality and premium touches
on November 25, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones are easily the most luxurious headphones I have ever owned. This is a top end pair of headphones for anyone who enjoys hearing all the details in their music. Music and phone conversations sound amazing, they are truly customizable via the Bowers & Wilkins Music app, and they feel great after hours of listening. Out of the box, there are the headphones, 48" long USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack cable for optional wired use, 47" long USB-C to USB-C charging cable, carrying case with zipper, and paperwork. The headphones way about 11.25 ounces which feels good on my head. I have the Royal Burgundy color which features a burgundy and gold color scheme which looks great and gives the headphones that 'top of the line' look. The bridge is covered with burgundy leather on the outside and nylon on the inside, and has just the right amount of cushion. The arms coming down are gold-colored bright metal and feel very sturdy. The earcups are gold-colored bright metal and burgundy leather on the outside, and burgundy-colored nylon covering memory foam on the inside. I wear glasses so I pay close attention to the earcup pressure against the stems of my glasses, and I can report that after hours of wear that the headphones have a perfect amount of pressure and still feel great over my glasses. I gave them a 15 minute charge out of the box and downloaded the Bowers & Wilkins app on my Android phone in the meantime. I would consider the app essential, as it allows the headphones to be customized to your preference. This customization includes equalization settings, control of the active noise-cancelling and transparency, and setting up the voice assistant of your choice. I removed the headphones from charging, paired them with my phone, and completed the customization I just mentioned. It was quick and easy to get it setup to my liking. I tried the Px8 headphones with streaming music and movies via my phone, and I was blown away with how good the audio sounded. The headphones have 40mm carbon drivers and they produce crisp, balanced audio. I could hear details, especially in higher ranges, that felt like a revelation to my ears even with music I have listened to forever. The mid-range sounded very nice and the bass was average. If you want pure bass that thumps your ears there are probably other headphones that will provide that, but I do not believe you will get the quality of balanced audio that these headphones provide. Audio from movies and dialogue sounded amazing. I connected the headphones to my PC for gaming and chat, and they did a great job providing chat clarity while gaming. I also took a few calls from family, and they sounded clear while also relaying that I sounded clear to them. That 15 minute charge at the beginning has provided 8 hours of listening so far. The box states that the headphones will give 30 hours of listening with a full charge, and I believe that. This headset does have active noise-cancelling provided by 6 mics, and I would give that feature a 4 out of 5. I have had headphones that provided better noise-cancelling, but these did a very good job. One of my calls was near loud foot traffic, and the call quality was still top notch from a listening and speaking perspective. I was listening to some music in my kitchen while my kids had the TV on nearby at a decent volume, and I could only hear the music. But some noise did still slip in when things were very loud, but not enough to distract. Overall, I would recommend the Px8 for any use, like listening to music or movies, calls, or gaming. But, I would especially recommend this headset for a user that appreciates outstanding audio and premium touches in both sound and look.

High performing robotic vacuum
on November 6, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The iRobot Roomba j9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum 'Ruby Bronze' is the one of the best robotic vacuums that I have ever used. It takes just a bit to set up initially. Out of the box, I took out the vacuum, the Automatic Dirt Disposal Clean Base, an extra filter, an extra dirt disposal bag, and line cord. The vacuum is circular with a diameter of 13.7 inches and a height of 3.4 inches. It weighs just under 9 lbs. The Clean Base is 15.8 by 12.2 by 13.3 inches, and weighs just under 22 lbs. I setup the Clean Base and let the vacuum fully charge. While it was getting charged, I downloaded the iRobot Home app on my Android phone and got it connected to the vacuum. This app will make sure the OS for the j9+ is updated, but it is also one of the ways to get the vacuum to start, see the mapping for your rooms, and set up no-sweep zones. It can also connect to Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant so that it will start sweeping via voice commands. Once I told it to start, it quickly left the base and started mapping and sweeping. My home has mostly hardwood floors with some rugs. I also have a dog and 2 cats. Like most robot vacuums, it logically started a sweeping pattern through the rooms and the progress of the vacuum and dirt level can be seen on the app. It has a feature called Dirt Detective that remembers the dirt level of certain areas so that those areas can be prioritized if there is a limited window of time for cleaning. I have had a few robot vacuums through the years so there were a few things that I wanted to watch for specifically. The transition areas where the edge of a rug meets hardwood can be difficult for a robot vacuum because of the change in traction and in height. I have found this area to be problematic for cleaning. So I was pleasantly surprised with how well the j9+ handled it. From a traction perspective, it didn't slow down noticeably, and from a cleaning perspective, it sucked up debris all the way to the rug border. It does have 2 rubber brushes underneath that seem to do a wonderful job in picking up the dirt on the floor. Another area I monitored was in the corners of rooms, as I have seen other robot vacuums struggle to get all the way in there, especially with the typical curved design. The j9+ has a brush specifically for edge cleaning, and it took its time approaching the corners from multiple angles over the course of the sweeping cycle. I thought it did a great job with corners. Obstacle detection and avoidance was pretty good. It bounced around some to get around chair legs and table legs, but that seemed typical to me. It did find and avoid strategically placed dog toys, and the same with food and water bowls that I leave on the floor. For me, the vacuum operated for an hour before needed a charge but that will probably vary based on how much area is covered by rugs and carpet, and general square footage. When it was done, the vacuum maneuvered onto the Clean Base to charge and automatically get emptied. The base will hold multiple weeks worth of debris emptied from the vacuum into the bag. If I have one issue with the j9+ system, this automatic emptying doesn't always get everything out of the debris compartment on the vacuum. It isn't a big deal to finish the job manually, but it does mean that it isn't a completely automatic process. But for me, I don't mind because it is quick to do, and with how well it handled rug transitions and corners it ended up being a much better and quicker sweeping experience than with past robot vacuums. I thought the noise level of both the operation of the vacuum and the automatic emptying were middle of the road, but certainly quieter than a manual vacuum. The speed of the vacuum was slower than some others, but in general it was time put to good use as it cleaned remarkably well even in obvious fur-shedding areas. Overall, I was very impressed with the iRobot Roomba j9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum. It was easy to setup and use, it cleaned well in both obvious areas and in areas that are traditionally tough for robot vacuums, it cleaned well on both hard woods and rugs, and it did pretty well with the auto-emptying feature with the base. I would recommend it over any other robotic vacuum simply because it cleaned better than the others I have had.

Fantastic headset for work or school
on October 29, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Logitech Zone 950 Wireless Headset is a fantastic headset with active noise cancelling that offers several ways to connect to a device. Out of the box, there is the headset, USB-C receiver, USB-A adapter (which accepts the USB-C receiver), USB-C charging cable (59 inch length), a travel bag, and documentation. The headset is the traditional matte dark gray that will be familiar to any Logitech product user. It feels sturdy enough, with metal used in the decoration ring and temple extension, and weighs around a half pound. The headset is designed to be worn facing either way depending on the preference of the mic boom being on the left or right. The mic boom is flip-to-mute, and there is a mute push button on the boom itself. The earcup with the mic boom has buttons for call controls, active noise cancelling modes, the USB-C charging port, and the power/Bluetooth pairing button. The other earcup has smart touch controls for volume and music that can either be tapped or swiped. The ear cushions are breathable, provide a good alternative for users that don't like earbuds or full cups, and can sense if you take them off so that music will automatically pause. The headset is certified for Zoom, Google Meet, Google Voice, and Fast Pair, and works with Windows, macOS, Chromebooks, and iOS/Android devices via USB-A, USB-C, and Bluetooth. The headset can connect to multiple devices at once so that the user can be connected to an app but also take calls. I would highly recommend downloading the Logi Tune app and connecting the headset so that the full suite of features can be controlled and customized, and sound can be equalized. The active noise cancelling, for example, can be set to low, high, off, or hybrid depending on what is desired. I work from home with pets that can cause various levels of noise behind me so I used the hybrid level which seemed to work well when they would suddenly start playing with a loud toy or start to bark. There are also 4 noise cancelling microphones that prevent loud background noises from coming through the mic. The Zone 950 also has a feature called Advanced Call Clarity that helped quiet the loud background noise coming from some people, as if they were utilizing voice clarity technology. I thought that these features all working together provided an excellent benefit: your voice is being heard as clearly as possible while you are also hearing others as clearly as possible by not hearing your own background noise or theirs. I asked for feedback on my voice and heard feedback that my voice was coming through Zoom more clearly with the Zone 950 than it was before. There is a Transparency mode, too, so that a user can hear outside noise while continuing to wear the headset. I wouldn't call this headset great for listening to music, although it did that well enough. The drivers are 40mm and sound better than I thought a work headset would. I tinkered with the EQ setting in Logi Tune and that helped for music. I loved the touch controls on the side of the non-mic ear cup. Whether it is earbuds or other headsets, push button controls often are either uncomfortable or awkward, so this was a great solution. The Zone 950 held a charge for about 17 hours for me, but that will change depending on how much the active noise cancelling is used. I liked that there was a quick charge feature which provides an hour of use after 5 minutes of charging, which is perfect for when you forget to charge before a meeting. Overall, I really liked the Logitech 950. It has useful features that work well with a sturdy feel that should help the unit to last for a while. I would recommend for work or school purposes, less so for gaming or audiophiles.

Excellent gaming mouse
on October 28, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Corsair M75 Air Wireless Gaming Mouse is a very nice gaming mouse that is extremely light compared to other gaming mice I have used. Out of the box, you get the mouse, the USB charging cable, and the USB wireless receiver. The mouse has a symmetrical build with 2 side buttons on the left side. The color is matte black with the exception of the side of the scroll wheel which is yellow. There is no RGB which means that while it is a gaming mouse, it could comfortably be used for business purposes. It only weighs 60 grams, which is lighter than most full-sized mice. From a gaming perspective, the M75 uses optical switches underneath the left and right mouse buttons and utilizes a 26K DPI optical sensor, 650 IPS tracking, and up to 50G acceleration. It can connect in 3 ways: Bluetooth, wirelessly using 2.4GHz with the USB wireless receiver plugged into the computer, and wired with the USB charging cable plugged into the computer. I used it while connected via all 3 potential ways, and I couldn't tell any difference. The mouse can hold a charge for around 100 hours of use with Bluetooth before needing to be charged; I have used it for a few days and it hasn't lost much charge so I can verify it holds a charge well. I would highly recommend downloading the iCue software from Corsair, as it allows the user to have custom DPI settings, customize the button settings, and update firmware. I used the M75 Air on both a hard and soft mousepad, and it felt quick and responsive. I prefer the hard mousepad and it felt like the mouse just glided over the surface. After a swipe to the edge, the mouse can re-center with a quick pickup/setdown. I play a lot of FPS games and the M75 Air felt snappy to use without causing any strain or fatigue. Clicks felt instant with the optical switches and I experienced no visible response time delay for movement. The symmetrical design felt pretty good in my hand, and my fingers naturally laid where they should on the left/right mouse buttons. Overall, this mouse excels at everything it claims to be. It is a very good gaming mouse with gaming features. It is lightweight and responsive. It is customizable and can connect in versatile ways. I would recommend the Corsair M75 Air for any purpose and any user.

High Quality Ten Key Gaming Keyboard
on October 23, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Corsair K70 Core RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a high quality, ten key gaming keyboard that feels durable and types great for any type of user. Out of the box, it weighs in at 2.64 lbs and measures at 17.6 x 5.31 x 1.6 inches. The K70 is matte black on the sides and bottom, and has an aluminum matte gray plate on top that sits underneath the keys. The 104 keys themselves are largely black along the periphery and gray in the middle with some exceptions. The keycaps are ABS double-shot which are fade-resistant. The keycaps sit on lubricated Corsair Red linear mechanical switches which offer the perfect level of resistance while typing, and report at 1000Hz. There is a programmable media button and a multi-function knob/dial that feels made of metal and is textured for grip. I could not get the RGB to work with the multi-function knob/dial but it is side-lit by the RGB from other keys so it can still be seen in the dark. It did not come with a wrist rest, but I used one from my old keyboard and that worked find for me. It is wired with a 6ft cord that connects via USB-A port to the computer. There is no USB port on the keyboard itself. The keyboard legs are made from thick plastic and do a good job lifting the keyboard. There is per-key RGB that shines both through the keycap and around it that can be programmed via the Corsair iCUE application that can be downloaded to the computer. The keyboard has on-board memory that can save up to 5 custom profiles for key assignment/RGB that the keyboard will remember even if plugged into a different device that doesn't have the iCUE software installed. When it comes to typing, the words that describe this keyboard are smooth and quiet. The linear switches make for buttery smooth keystrokes. There are 2 layers of sound dampening foam underneath the keys that do a great job of muting keystroke noises. It isn't silent quite; keystrokes can be heard faintly especially if you're a key pounder. But this keyboard could easily double as a business keyboard that keeps keystrokes at a low noise level so that they aren't distracting or heard during work calls. If the RGB is turned off, or turned onto a basic mode, there isn't anything externally that explicitly identifies the keyboard as a gaming keyboard. I used it for FPS gaming where key response is crucial and it performed well. I used it for typing notes during calls and it performed well. I do wish it had a USB port for a headset but that is really the only wish I had. It was smooth and quiet to use, lit up well while utilizing the iCUE app, and responded well whether gaming or for business use.

Very Good Lower-Middle Tier Gaming Notebook

The Dell G15 Gaming Notebook is a budget gaming laptop that works well with moderate settings on new games but can experience slowness with more memory intensive applications. Out of the box, the laptop felt as expected from a weight perspective at 6 lbs, 3 oz. It measured at 14 inches by 10.75 inches by a little over 1 inch tall. This model is using an Intel configuration with a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13650HX processor which boasts 14 cores and processing up to 4.9 GHz when set on turbo. It has a 15.6" FHD display with 1920x1080 resolution refreshing at 120Hz. The graphics are driven by a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM. It came with 8GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB SSD. The color scheme of the laptop is Dark Shadow Grey with Black near the fan exhaust on the back. The keyboard has orange, backlit keys, and there is a dedicated 10 key section. The keyboard also has a Game Shift key for optimized gaming performance. The trackpad is centered to the alpha keys, but overall it is slightly to the left of center due to the 10 numeric keys to the right. There is a headset connection port, 1 Ethernet port, 1 HDMI 2.1 port, 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port which can take Display Port, and 3 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports. It runs Windows 11 Home. There is a 720p webcam above the screen. This laptop does have any particularly flashy decals or RGB that mark it as a gaming laptop although there is a orange G on the side near the hinge to show it is a Gaming Notebook. While the weight felt very typical for a gaming notebook, I was surprised that more metal was not used in the build. It does feel a little cheap in that department although my main fear would be hinge disfunction several years down the road. The computer was quick to get Windows setup with the mandatory updates and downloads to catch the system up to speed. I tested gaming using Destiny 2, Modern Warfare II, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The graphic settings were best set at a moderate level to get a buttery smooth frame rate. The 4050 is a very nice gpu, and the i7 processes is a very nice processor, but it is lacking in the memory department out of the gate at only 8GB. I think a minimum of 16GB would be necessary to not throttle this configuration. The memory is expandable up to 32GB after the fact. The games all played very smoothly, and there were no crashes. The G key (Game Shift) does make an impact, but I could not tell what it was optimizing. The fan speed increased, which was as expected given the keyboard does start to get moderately hot which is very normal for gaming laptops. I did try a bit of graphic design software and some larger spreadsheets and there was some noticeable slowness on those programs. I would say that is likely not to be the typical usage of the gaming laptop, but if you are such a user I would highly recommend upgrading to at least 16GB of RAM. I think the computer is really an excellent confluence of price and performance so spending a bit more for RAM seems pretty fair. I like brightness level of the screen; all of the games looked very crisp and I appreciated that text was clear to read. In the configuration it is in, the Dell G15 Gaming Notebook would be recommended for a beginning gamer who is looking for a moderate experience with current generation games. It plays the games that I tested very well at the setting that were auto-selected, and should meet gaming minimum settings for a while to come. A quick note that I recommend using gaming laptops while they are plugged into their power adapter. Of course you can use the laptop unplugged but gaming will quickly use up the battery and the laptop is likely to be throttled down in various ways that are hard to pinpoint in an effort to preserve battery.

Philips SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband: Improve the quality of your sleep with this Philips SmartSleep Deep Sleep headband. The clinically tested technology helps improve energy, increase alertness and reduce daytime sleepiness to help you through the day. Pairing this Philips SmartSleep Deep Sleep headband with the SleepMapper app provides you with detailed analytics to help understand your sleep patterns.

How does it work?

It produces tones as you sleep that are supposed to help your brain wave patterns stay in the deep sleep pattern for longer. There is a sensor that you place behind your ear every night, and you put the headband on and connect it to that sensor. It isn't very noticeable after a few nights. It connects to an app so that you can see your sleep stats the next day.

Is this a light headset? If not, will it cause any head pain or anything? Im using this for long term use.

The headset is very light, under 1 pound. Good for long sessions. Some users have reported some tightness or pressure against their ears from squeezing. That is so subjective though.

What does it mean by limitied edition? Like is it only gonna be up and available for a certain time or is it only for the color scheme?

I believe the Sensory Bass is what makes these headphones a limited edition. They will really rattle your head.

Sleep better. Cover unwanted noise with soothing sounds. Bose noise-masking sleepbuds™ are uniquely designed for sleep. They don’t stream music or have acoustic noise cancellation. Instead, these tiny, wireless earbuds use pre-loaded, soothing sounds to cover up unwanted noises, so you can get to sleep — and stay asleep. Plus, unlike traditional earplugs, they’re super comfortable and made to stay in place all night long, even if you sleep on your side. 1. Choose your sound, 2. Set an alarm, 3. Fall asleep without unwanted noise.

How well do these work for silencing out loud snoring from your bed partner?

In my experience, it works very well at focusing my mind on the sounds or tones that are being produced by the earbuds so that other noises become unnoticeable. I can't say for sure that it will drown out every variety of snorer as you will still be able to hear very loud noises. What I liked is that the 10 noises that the earbuds come with seem to have a unique pitch, and I'm thinking that it would be crucial to find the best noise/pitch that matches the pitch of the snoring. I think you would have success.

Do they work with Android phones?

Yes. I have Google Pixel XL, and the app controls everything. No issues with Android.

Native refresh rate is 240 Hz. It has 5 HDMI ports: 3 on the back and 2 on the side. All HDMI inputs are 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 so they all support 4K and HDR. 1 of these is ARC enabled. This TV does support HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and HLG.
