Cords should come with appliances

Once again, I am nonplussed that an appliance does not come with a power cord. My refrigerator came with a power cord. My lamp came with a power cord. My computer came with a power cord. Why not my dishwasher? Unlike the cord for my range, there are not even any options for plug type. They just decided that they could make a few extra bucks and cost me several weeks on my kitchen renovation by making me order this separate power cord. I caved in because the dishwasher is just an expensive cabinet without it. And another thing: It takes 4 weeks to get the power cord once you order it. I guess they are made to order because heaven knows no one would want to manufacture as many cords as dishwashers. Okay, enough ranting. The cord is fine. It fits my dishwasher - just plugs into the back, no tools required or anything. The cord is long enough to reach from the dishwasher to the outlet. What more can I say? Its a cord.

I'm amazed that appliances don't come with power cords. What other purchase can you make that requires you to make a separate purchase to be able to power your device? You spend thousands of dollars for a range and when it is delivered, you would expect to be able to use it, but NO, now you must order a cord to be able to power it. You spend $10 on a lamp and it COMES with a power cord. Their excuse is that they need to know what kind of outlet you have before they can send you the right power cord. They couldn't throw in an extra $40 part after you spent so much money already? That's just not right. That being said, this is a fine power cord. It was easy to attach to the range, plugs into the wall, it is long enough to reach from the range to the outlet behind it. What more can I say?
