Turn your laptop into a full work station with this Kensington universal dock. Three USB 3.1 ports let you connect all your accessories, and the USB-C port delivers 4K Ultra HD resolution to an external monitor. This Kensington universal dock has plug-and-play installation, so you're ready to work within minutes.
I returned it after quite a bit of communication with Kensington. I was so hopeful this would be just what I wanted. I looked at a large number of alternative universal docking stations, read all the tech and buyer reviews and finally spent the money on this one for my new ASUS laptop with Thunderbolt port that is backward compatible with USB 3, etc. The docking station has a lot of tech limitations in terms of what machines and OS and ports that it works with. Kensington is quick to reply but mostly provides the same generic info you get on their web site. They kept repeating how to install the software, etc. They don't have any info on specific laptops and compatibility is still quite limited in terms of computer systems and cards they can work with. I only communicated by email due to may schedule, however, so it may be that phone communication would result in more targeted help.
After lots of interaction and more generic advice (reinstall it), I gave up. My current assessment is that this would be a perfect dock for the new generation of PC/windows machines but its compatibility is still way to limited, Kensington put it out early but doesn't know what it does and doesn't work with so they are no direct help, and I think it needs a next gen of software and the market needs to catch up with this dock in terms of PC compatibility. Both sides (docks and PCs) are probing this new level of connectivity and the number of connections that actually work as advertised is still small.
Print, copy and scan with this Brother HL-L2380DW laser printer, which features built-in wireless networking and an Ethernet interface for simple Internet connection options. The 2.7" touch-screen display simplifies operation.
I bought this based on the in-store discussion. It is a great printer for our home wireless network, easily reached by multiple computers. The print quality is very good and the speed is as advertised.
The half-star discontent is that after installing via USB cable (as recommended), there are two printers installed -- the USB version and the wireless version. If you get rid of the USB cable, as most would, it has set the cable version as default and the name looks almost exactly the same so hard to notice at first. In addition, the printer has to be reset a couple of times to keep communicating with other network devices. The install settings from the printer panel are not always the clearest depending on the issue.
Otherwise, it has performed just as advertised. I wish I would have switched from HP long ago.
Enjoy a personal entertainment station with this Asus laptop. High-powered graphics are supported by dedicated memory for more-than-casual gaming, and Intel Wireless Display lets you stream entertainment directly to your television screen for optimal sharing. Cloud support and 2TB hard drive space ensure plenty of capacity on this Asus laptop for all your files.
The two things that were most important to me were the overall computational capability of the hardware and, second, the connectivity alternatives. The CPU, video card and 512 GB SS drive answered the first issue. The thunderbolt port, drives two 4K monitors, multiple USB 3.0 ports, 512 GB SS drive answer the second. I didn't care that much about 2 TB HD but it is an extra for video editors who don't always work on-line.
Everything performed as advertised -- very close to plug-and-;play. This laptop should be able to be part of tech upgrades for at least five years, I think, so in that way a great investment for someone buying a laptop now that they want to keep for a longer run vs a $400 one good for the moment.
