I've tried to avoid buying any laptop that doesn't have an optical drive built-in, but ended up with one, after all. So, I need a USB CD/DVD. This one is perfect. It is powered by a single, standard USB port, where some others require an external power supply or two USB ports. It.is recognized by Windows (7 and 10) and requires no additional driver software. I also like that it's tray loading and not slot loading.
