Great replacement receiver for my system

I purchased this receiver to replace an older Onkyo. The old receiver still works fine, but did not have HDMI capability. I wanted to have good sound quality when viewing and listening to tv programs or DVDs/Blurays featuring music. This receiver fit in perfectly with my existing equipment (speakers, tv, bluray). The sound is excellent. The radio tuner actually works better than the tuner in the old receiver. It was very easy to set up, and I was pleased with the automatic speaker calibration feature. Additionally, I can stream music from my iPad or phone through Bluetooth.
I did extensive research comparing this product with similar receivers by Yamaha and Denon. In the end, I chose this one because of previous good experience with Onkyo and because it was on sale.

No need to buy an expensive cable

I needed an HDMI cable for the AV receiver I was purchasing. The sales associate asked me what length I needed, but did not offer me a choice of brands. All HDMI cables are basically the same and it was not necessary to purchase this expensive one. I should have questioned the selection at the time, but I was in a hurry and didn't think about it until later.

Perhaps the single most important feature of this laptop for me is the keyboard. When I mentioned that I was unhappy with the keyboard of my old laptop, the sales associate directed me to this ThinkPad. The touch and response of the keys remind me of a typewriter and I find I can type much faster on this keyboard. In addition, the machine boots very quickly and generally is fast thanks to the solid state drive. Now that I've experienced SSD, I will never go back. I do not use the 2 in 1 feature and rarely use the touch screen, so those are unimportant to me. This laptop suits my needs perfectly and I am very happy with it.

- Can I control the volume w/ TV remote - Can I turn program the receiver to turn on when I turn on the TV? (basically, for TV application, can i eliminate the an additional remote ctrl) Thanks
It depends on the remote. I was able to program my Xfinity remote to control the volume of the receiver. However, I use a universal remote so that I can control all of my devices with one remote.

I need an operation manual for this recent purchase ( for the unit itself, not the remote ).
You can download a copy of the short manual that comes in the box at the Onkyo usa website.
