not the best lens hood out there

you cannot expect a "universal" tulip to fit any Xmm lens easily. that's my lesson from buying this. while there is an adapter ring to adjust the exact position of the tulip petals so that they don't show in the corners of your image, it's very difficult to keep them aligned throughout a busy shooting day.

check where your volume rocker is, because the clasp is wide, and you may have to install off-center. not an issue when using as a tripod, but as a handle it feels off-balance.

solid grip with one minor design flaw

much more robust than the original Joby smartphone holder. it would be nice if the grips reached around the phone's volume rocker (on the Nexus 5x), but i guess that will have to wait for an update. as it is, phones with the volume slider around the middle have to be fastened close to the edge, which compromises stability somewhat.
