INCREDIBLE PICTURE QUALITY

Went into Best Buy to buy a 55" 1080p TV and saw this Hisense 50H8C hanging on the wall and was blown away by the amazing picture quality. I had just returned the 55" TLC Roku 4K because the screen wasn't as clear if you sat farther than 4 1/2 feet away. But because this 50H8C has HDR the picture was twice as good and you can sit almost 10 feet from the TV to get the full HDR 4K effect and 12 feet away to get a picture just as good as more expensive 1080p TV's.
Unbelievable how amazing this Hisense is!! Even the sound blows away every HDTV I ever bought. The box says it uses dbx-tv stereo technology which I never heard of. But it works. Clear and and you only have to raise the volume up a fourth of the way to have LOUD clear sound not half like other TV's.
I'm truly shocked however that with all the times the Hisense rep has been on here answering questions they haven't noticed a mistake on the specs given here on this site.
- THERE ARE 4 HDMI's..... NOT 3.
- 2 of them are 2.0(4k at 60hz)
- 2 of them are 1.4 (says 4K at 30hz)
I've called up and talked to a supervisor and he said they can send me a email link I can use a USB to plug into the TV to upgrade 1 of them HDMI 2.2 so I can get a 4K UHD blu ray player
I hope that happens.
I'm being serious here. Every year I take the 2 TV's I have in my home and the 6 TV's I have in my cafes and upgrade them to a better quality picture. I will no longer have to do that. This 50H8C is the greatest quality picture of any TV I have ever owned. The screen is so perfect I would have been just as happy if it cost $1,100.
Overview of my review.....
Picture Quality- 10/10....
You do not need to spend $1,500 on a 4K TV with HDR. The fact this TV comes with a 4 year warranty unlike the big name brands speaks volumes on reliability.
Sound Quality-
9.5/10 (Without a doubt the best sound of any TV made using 2 10 watt speakers...I usually rate HDTV's 4/10 for sound)
Smart Apps- Picture Quality is great and it has the "must apps" like Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, Vudu. But not anywhere near as many as the Roku. With all the money I saved on this Excellent TV I am going to buy a Roku4 that's 4K and be in "TV Nerd Heaven".
There was a time (before my hair turned grey) that the only thing that mattered with televisions was the picture quality and sound. Not the apps and not whether some teenage kid could use his smartphone as a remote because he wanted to be a "hipster".
This TV is amazing. It is the first time I ever bought a TV outside of doing so online. I actually spent time in Best Buy and looked around and compared. I would have paid more because I couldn't believe how great it is. Because of this experience, I will now only buy from going into the store and looking for myself. I would have never bought this TV if I didn't see how incredible the picture quality was.
Last but not least......
I'm still waiting for the emailed link upgrade from Hisense to make one of the HDMI 2.2 so I can buy a 4K Native bluray UHD player. One of the supervisors from Hisense that called back told me this could be done. But I've been using all my 1080p blurays I have that are 4K upscale but not 4K Native and they look SO MUCH BETTER than on my 1080p TV's
1. Oppo 103D Darbee edition- AWESOME PICTURE QUALITY. Yes, much better than on a 1080p TV. It only uses HDMI 1.4 but the Darbee processor makes up for it.
2. Panasonic 460- Really Really Great. Yes much Better than on my 1080p TV.
3. Sony S790-YES!! Houston, we don't have a problem. Picture has majorly improved over my 1080p TV.
Sorry I babbled. I don't work for Hisesnse. But take a look at Best Buy and see for yourself how amazing the picture looks. And yes, HDR does make a huge difference.
Take care,
William
