The cordless Dyson Gen5outsize has the suction power of a corded vacuum.¹ It has HEPA filtration for our deepest, most hygienic clean. It's engineered with the larger size, power, intelligence, and additional run time to deep clean larger spaces. It has a 25% wider cleaner head and 150% larger bin compared to the Dyson Gen5detect, as well as twice the run time. The Dyson Gen5outsize covers more floor with each pass and allows for more cleaning between bin emptying and charges. It intelligently optimizes suction power based on floor type and debris picked up.⁵ The LCD screen indicates when to keep cleaning an area and when to move on. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head reveals invisible dust on hard floors. The extra wide de-tangling Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head deep cleans carpets and hard floors without tangles. Its versatile cordless format transforms into a handheld vacuum with one click, and the wand detaches to reveal a ready-to-go tool for continuous cleaning. Comes with a 2-year warranty and lifetime Dyson support.

Great Power, Features, Battery, & Helpful Display
on June 26, 2023
Posted by: hotice
The Gen5outsize is a powerful cordless vacuum with a great feature set!
Design
The Gen5outsize looks similar to other cordless vacuums I've seen. There is a canister to hold the dirt on the unit near the handle where the motor and battery are. There is a power button and a mode button to switch between "Eco" (low), "Auto", and "Boost" settings. It even has a color screen that shows run-time remaining and a real-time analysis of particles being vacuumed as well as which mode you select. There is no trigger button or switch, which mostly doesn't matter, but does mean I need to use one hand to hold the vacuum and another hand to turn it on/off or to change modes. There are other elements of the design that are worth mentioning. Two of the attachments have a built-in brush that you slide up/down as needed. I like this because it's one less piece to loose or to keep with you. One of those two attachments actually fits in the main shaft that goes to the floor roller attachments. I really like that integration!
Suction
This vacuum has excellent suction. Besides it being capable of high power, the "Auto" mode works great, throttling up and down based on how dirty the floor is, saving battery life. As mentioned above, you can set it to "Boost" if needed but I haven't used that much. I did find "Boost" useful sometimes when using it as a handheld vacuum especially. So, I'm glad it's powerful and generally manages its power on its own.
Display
The main handheld unit has bright, color display that shows the time remaining, which is awesome, as well as the power setting when it's selected. It also has real-time particle analysis which I'll talk about later. The display is not large but a reasonable size and very easy for me to see the time remaining and bars on the particle graph while I'm vacuuming.
Real-Time Particle Analysis
Ok, my words, not theirs, but it's pretty crazy, this is what it's doing - It doesn't tell you exaclty what your cleaning up but it shows a bar graph of what is being picked up in four size groupings, smaller to larger particles. The bar goes up and down in real-time as you vacuum. This is actually useful because once you see there are no more particles coming up, you know you have a spot that is clean - or no more dirt is coming up. Not only that, but somehow it gives a particle count, yes, a very large number, of how many particles it's collected. While I don't know about the accuracy at least it gives an idea of the size of particles that are being collected and you can see if its more smaller or larger particles.
Attachments - There's even a laser!!!
There are plenty of attachments. I like the way the main floor roller for carpet is very wide. It works well to cover a large surface area quickly. It also has three high adjustment levels, which have been adequate for the surfaces I've used it on. There's also a roller for hard floors which is a very different design. It's more narrow, left to right, and smaller in general. The cool thing is it has a green light laser, to make dirt show up on hard surfaces. I thought it sounded like a cool idea but didn't expect it to work very well - but it does! I was very surprised at how well it worked. I'm including a before and after picture of a tile floor. I even used it on a glass bathroom scale and was surprised how much dirt it had on it and it did a good job cleaning it. There is another small roller designed for sofa's and steps that's made to handle pet hair well. I don't have pet hair around but it did a nice job cleaning a sofa, fabric chairs, and steps with carpet on them. I also mentioned some other attachments above. There is also a wall mount it comes with that can hold two attachments and can have a power cord run into it to easily charge a battery when you hang up the vacuum. It also helps that they include a second power cord so it doesn't need to be removed from there even if you take a power cord with you when you take the vacuum somewhere. It's also nice to have a second power cord since it includes two batteries!
Weight
It's heavier than others I've used but it feels more powerful than other's I've used. The weight is balanced in a way so that pushing it doesn't feel bad for general use as an upright vacuum being pushed on the floor. I notice the weight more when carrying it up and down stairs, or when holding it up as a handheld vacuum. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather carry this up and down stairs than any corded vacuum that I've used, but holding it up high as a handheld vacuum to get vents an a wall or ceiling for example, can get tiring more quickly than with others I've used, but I don't do that very often and it's typically for short times.
Control
The control is noteworthy because you can turn this thing very sharply with ball-like joint it has where the shaft meets the floor roller. The fact that the "Auto" mode works so well also helps make control easier, or require less thought. There is the high adjustment to consider as you vacuum. There is not light on the main floor roller to see in dark areas under objects or in corners as you vacuum. At least the display always shows you if it's picking up anything but you can't necessarily see it before you vacuum it up. Also, because the roller attachments are low profile and because of the design of that ball-like joint, you can get very low to the floor and way under low clearance areas.
Battery life
I would say the battery life is very good. While actual battery life varies depending on how much power it needs to use it helps immensely that there is a readout showing the estimated time remaining. This along with the fact that it comes with a second battery and even a second charger make all the difference. When starting it usually says something like 43 minutes. Vacuuming a very dirty carpet I got more like 20 minutes on a battery but it did an great job and I was able to gage my vacuuming based on the time it said I had remaining and knowing I had a second battery. I was easily able to complete what I wanted to and had power to spare every time. And if I really needed long battery life, I can just use it on Eco.
A few other things
It has a washable HEPA filter. I wish every vacuum did! The canister that holds the dirt is very large. It's also easy to empty, and when you do empty it forces dust out and downward with the whole container shifting downward as it opens - very cool design!
Summary
There are lighter vacuums but this is powerful and loaded with great features. The biggest downside to me, the weight, is offset but the biggest upside, the power and features. The battery life is great, and I think the overall package with everything that's included and the crazy feature set is excellent. They could have added a light for the main carpet roller attachment but I like being able to see as the carpet is getting closer and closer to being clean on the display. The time countdown for the battery life is awesome.

Fast, Thin, Light, Great Battery Life, 1TB, 32GB!
on June 14, 2023
Posted by: hotice
The Dell XPS 13 is very nicely loaded PC in a small and light form factor that has great battery life!
Design
This laptop is thin! It's very noticeably thin and it weighs as light as it looks. There's a small bezel around the screen. It still supports Windows Hello face recognitions, as well as fingerprint. The power adapter is also very small. This is at least in part due to the fact that it only needs/uses a 45 watt power supply. To me, the overall package looks very impressive! The keyboard is not a bad laptop keyboard. It feels sold, not flexing as you type. Travel of the keys feels good to me, not too short. It's not loud or clicky as you type but you can feel when you a key is pressed. The touchpad is a good size. It doesn't feel small and I think it's a good size given the room available for a touchpad. The touchpad works well and has a good click when pressed. The sound is good for small speakers on a small laptop. Dell includes MaxxAudio Pro which has enhancements for some things like special audio on headphones and voice.
Display
This display is bright with rich colors. It's 1920x1200 resolution (19:10 aspect ratio). It's very thin and, again, has a slim bezel around the perimeter. At the native resolution and 13.4" I find the display comfortable to use without display scaling turned on in Windows. I like that because, though rare now, sometimes I run into issues with applications that don't handle the scaling correctly or when using tools for remote connectivity to other systems. This display does support "HDR Video Streaming" in Windows, and I was able to turn that on. It doesn't support the "Use HDR" function of Windows. I'm not sure what the difference is but fyi. The contrast ratio seems very good to me in practice just based on some video I've watched including some HDR test videos. The HDR test video's I played in YouTube didn't show as using HDR but they still looked great. Blacks on this display look very black to me. It's very good for an LED backlit LCD display.
Speed
This laptop is very nicely loaded, especially for a very small, light, and low power (only 45 watt power supply) laptop! It has a 12th Gen i7 EVO CPU with 10 physical cores and 12 logical processors. I wasn't familiar with Intel's EVO line. They're designed to provide great battery life and still have plenty of power. There's more that goes with the Intel EVO certification, but I think an i7 that uses less power is pretty great! There a 1 TB SSD as well as 32 GB of RAM to top it off. I've found performance to be very good! Booting is fast as is running and switching between apps. Also, instead of just giving you Intel HD graphics, this has Intel Iris Xe graphics, which are much better than Intel HD. While it's still integrated and not a desgrete graphics adapter you would find in a gaming laptop, this may let you do more gaming than you would expect.
Ports
The lack of many ports is a bit sad to me, though it's more and more common, and I do really like a laptop being this small. To make a laptop small, manufacturers typically reduce the number of ports that are included. The Dell XPS 13 only has two USB Type C ports. These are actually Thunderbolt 4 ports, supporting 40 Gbps. You can connect up to two 4K displays to one Thunderbolt port. So, there's more flexibility and bandwidth there than you might think but you just may need a USB C/Thunderbold hub of some kind to connect everything you want at one time. There isn't a dedicated power port so the good news is the power port is a standard USB C, but the bad news is you'll need to use one of those two built-in USB C ports any time you need to plug in the power cord. Thankfully, that may not be very often due to what seems to be excellent battery life. Two helpful adapters are included in the box. One is a USB-C to 1/8" stereo (headphone) audio adapter. The other is a USB-C to USB type A adapter, so you can plug in a common flash drive or most other non-USB-C, USB devices.
Battery Life
I've mentioned battery life a few times but it's worth saying again. The battery life of the Dell XPS 13 is excellent! It has a 50,012 mAh battery and it just seems to last and last. I've been amazed at how few times I've had to charge this since I got it - and that's with installing lots of Windows Updates, Microsoft Store updates and apps, as well as downloading and installing lots of applications! The included MyDell Windows app also lets you adjust battery charging options so it will only charge to less than 100% and stop to help extend the life of the battery. There's a "Dynamic" mode that will change the charging pattern based on your usage, which is on by default. Otherwise there are a preset options as well as the ability to customize it. I hope all manufacturers start doing this as it can really extend the life of your battery.
Summary
The Dell XPS 13 13.4" FHD+ is a surprisingly well loaded for such a small laptop. The screen, keyboard, and touchpad are also very good for a laptop this size. If you're looking for a fast laptop with great battery life that's small and light, you should check it out!

Great display, features, and built-in settings!
on May 24, 2023
Posted by: hotice
This is my first time using a wide display or curved display. After trying it, I like both of those attributes! This is a bright and beautiful display with a number of great gaming features!
Design
This wide and curved monitor has a very small bezel on the top and sides. The one on the bottom is larger but not bad. It has the "OMEN" logo on it and there's a power LED near the bottom right corner. The stand allows you to easily slide the monitor up and down, very nice to get the perfect position. You can also tilt the monitor up. There's a loop that snaps on the back of the stand to help with cable management. It has two HDMI ports that support full resolution of 3440 x 1440. There is also one Display Port port. It has built in stereo speakers as well as a headphone jack. The monitor feels very stable and well built.
Display
It's big, bright, crisp, and clear. Colors are rich and the back lightingn is even. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium and it worked well - I didn't experience any tearing in gaming or general use for that matter. It supports HDR which I was able to enable in Windows for general use and for video streaming (two separate options in Windows). I didn't notice any blurring either. With my PC I was able to do 3440 x 1440 at 100Hz and it looked great - in Windows and in games.
Gaming
Of course, the main reason you buy a gaming monitor is for gaming! The OMEN 34c provides a great gaming experience for me! In trying different games, they do vary in their support of the resolution and extra wide aspect ratio. Regardless, it was not hard for me to have games display in the correct aspect ratio. For ones that stretched, I just had to change the resolution in the game to either 2560 x 1440 or 1920 x 1080 and it looked great, fit vertically, and wasn't stretched out of the designed aspect ratio horizontally. Colors were always rich, bright, and accurate. There was excellent contrast with me being able to distinguish between different, similar shades in scenes that were display. I like the curve! Viewing angles are excellent and once the game starts, I forget I'm using a curved monitor. I just get a nice large and wide display. It feels immersive. It's really hard to say if it feels more immersive than other monitors I've used because it's large or because it's curved, but I think it's a combination of both. The curve didn't bother me for sure and if anything I liked it.
Features
There are a lot of features! Besides other things I mentioned it supports up to 165 Hz refresh rate. Many features are accessible in the on screen display. There are all sorts of contrast options and color presets as well as manual settings to adjust colors. I like the presets and have a hard time picking between "Gaming", "Native", and one of the three "HP Enhance+" options. I can see improved detail with some of the "HP Enhance+" options. It was impressive to me and beyond what I'm used to seeing a monitor do by itself. There are also gaming features like turning on an FPS display and cross hairs. Not only can you turn them on but you can choose colors and location for them. It has an "auto-switch input" option (can be turned off) which I like. It will automatically switch to the powered on input or change to a different input if the one you are on powers off - assuming another on is on. There is also HDMI CEC support for device control that can be turned off if you want. The power LED can be turned off if you don't want that small white light at the bottom right. There is even a test for the built-in speakers. It just plays a tone but it's enough to tell that it's working. I've never had a monitor before with any sort of speaker test. This isn't all the setting you'll find but I wanted to give you and idea. I think it has more than most.
Summary
I'm a fan! I'm impressed with what HP has done. To me it feels like a full package from the specs, to the design, and all the settings for customization too!

Small and light with good performance and ports!
on May 21, 2023
Posted by: hotice
The Asus VivoBook is a small and light weight laptop with very battery life and a good selection of ports!
Design
While nothing really stands out to me about the design of the VivoBook, I think it looks fine and I do like the size and weight. The size of the screen and keyboard are comfortable for me to use. The feel of the keyboard is good for me to type on. I haven't had issues with it. It does have an inverted "T" arrow layout, though the buttons are half-height.
Performance
This computer feels very responsive for general use. The 11th gen, Intel i3 CPU and the 8GB of RAM combined with the SSD seem to be enough to keep it moving well. It even starts up fast. It is using Windows 11 in S Mode so while that has some limitations, it is supposed to improve security and performance. I'll talk more about S Mode later.
Display
The 14" screen is 1366x768. So it's higher resolution that 720p but not as high as 1080p. It works fine for playing video. A lot of people have Desktop Scaling turned on in Windows which can make things the size this display is anyway so you may not notice that you can't fit as much on the screen. I did notice sometimes where smaller text wasn't as clear as you may expect but didn't have any problems reading anything. Viewing angles are not great on it. From an angle, some things are hard to see, or the colors are not accurate. When viewing from the front, normal use, the screen looks good.
Ports
So many laptops, especially small ones, tend to have very few ports. Often I think they don't have enough of them. I'm very happy with the ports on the VivoBook. There is one USB 3.2 type C, one full-size HDMI, a headphone jack, three USB type A ports, two are USB 2.0 and one is USB 3.2. There is also a dedicated port for the power cord (not USB C).
Battery Life
I found the battery life to be very good. While I don't have specific numbers, after using it a few hours I checked and it said I had 10 hours left. I had the screen brightness at a comfortable setting, but not full. This was just general use, email, typing spreadsheets, and things like that but I thought it was very good.
Windows 11 S Mode
For the most part, it looks and feels the same as regular Windows. It improves on performance and security by requiring that all apps installed are from the Microsoft Store. That means apps have been approved and designed to work a certain and approved way. So that helps with security and can help performance because Windows doesn't need to worry about backward app compatibility since everything is a current type of app. So before you plan to use S Mode, make sure the apps you need are available on the Windows Store. As I mentioned at the beginning, I'm happy with the performance of this. I'm not sure how much of that is due to S Mode. You can switch it to standard Windows 11, non-S mode, and then run any Windows programs, but if you do that you cannot switch back to S Mode.
Summary
I was impressed for a low-cost Windows 11 laptop. The performance is better than I was expecting and generally feels snappy and responsive to me for general use like working with documents, web browsing, and email. The screen is really best viewed straight on but on the other hand there are a bunch of ports to work with which can be very helpful. If the 128GB SSD is enough for your needs and you're good with apps from the Microsoft Store, this is a laptop to consider!

Excellent low-profile mouse with great feature set
on May 19, 2023
Posted by: hotice
I bought an MX Anywhere 2 a long time ago. I still have it and use it for travel. It works great and the battery is still very good on it. I was excited to upgrade to the latest version, the MX Anywhere 3S.
Design and comfort
The MX Anywhere 3S is a great, small mouse. It's comfortable to use and has a few great features. I find it very comfortable to use and it works well. There is a scroll wheel that you can use as a third mouse button, no conventional lateral movement with the scroll wheel but I'll get to that later. It has two buttons on the left hand side. The primary two mouse buttons work great, giving a solid click but it's not too hard to press and not too loud. The mouse wheel is probably my favorite feature for a few reasons. For now, the feel is excellent and it works great!
Features
First, this little travel mouse has an 8,000 dpi sensor!!! I was excited to find that out. Plenty to handle my desktop width equal to that of five 1080p displays. It's great to have a small and comfortable mouse that's that versatile.
Second, the wheel can scroll line-by-line, like most mouse wheels do, or it can scroll in free-spinning mode. There is a toggle button or, if you flick it, it automatically switches into free-spinning mode and then switches back when it stops. My old MX Anywhere 2 had the mode switching but only with a button press.
Third, I mentioned that the mouse wheel doesn't have the lateral press to go left or right, like in a spreadsheet for instance. The cool thing is that it's just implemented a different way. You hold down either of the two side buttons and then scroll with the wheel and it will go left or right. It works the same way but I find it easier control. I really like this!
Fourth, The "Easy-Switch button" allows you to switch between three different computers with the press of a three-way toggle button. Each one lets you setup a Bluetooth connection independently of the others. This is a features I used and loved on my old MX Anywhere 2.
Options+ App
You will want the app to adjust the dpi, "Scroll Force", and how easily it switches between scroll modes automatically. There are a number of settings you can customize and it also offers specific customizations you can enable for specific applications you ay have installed. Options+ is easy to use and has lots of pictures to walk you through what you're doing.
Battery life
So far the battery life appears to be excellent! They claim 70 days between charges and I can see that as very possible. You need to enable 8K mode for the DPI over 4000 so I'm guessing that battery life may not be as good over that threshold but even if it cuts it in half, 35 days of normal use on a charge is pretty excellent.
Summary
The MX Anywhere 3S does not come with a USB transceiver like previous versions did, but it does supports a Logi Bolt USB transceiver so you can buy that for it if you want. I love the excellent feature set, it's comfortable to use for me even though it's small, and I'm very impressed by the battery life.

Beautiful Speaker with Full and Rich Sound
on May 6, 2023
Posted by: hotice
The Stanmore III is a powerful Bluetooth speaker that I plan to have displayed as a beautiful and functional piece of home décor in our new house.
Design
I love to retro Marshall design to this speaker. While the pictures do not do it justice, they do not deceive you either. The materials look and feel in person eactly as I imagined. From the outer black textured material to the metal on top and on the classic metal power switch. To me, it looks and feels impressive. There are two inputs. One 1/8" stereo input on top and a right/left RCA input on the back. On the top there is a source button that's a three way toggle between Bluetooth, Aux (1/8" stereo), and RCA. There's a red light to show you which is selected. There are also three dials, volume, bass, and treble. The dials turn smoothly and red lights make it easy to see where they're set as you turn. There is one other control on top, press is to pause/resume or slide it left or right for previous or next track. For me, the design sets it apart from other speakers down to the guitar riff sound when it establishes a Bluetooth connection.
Features
There are two main features I found interesting. One is that it has "Placement compensation". You need to use the app to enable it. You just answer a few questions and it makes changes to the audio output to compensate for some placement issues, like being in a corner or near a wall. I didn't really get to test this but I'm glad to have the option there. The other feature it has that I think is somewhat unique is it's designed with software upgradable Bluetooth hardware. I don't think I've ever seen a Bluetooth device that can be updated for future Bluetooth standards. Who knows how flexible that ability is but I love the attempt and look forward to seeing what new standards it's able to support. I think it's designed to at least support a future low power standard.
Sound
Of course, what really matters for any speaker is how does it sound. I was totally impressed with the sound of the Stanmore III! The sound seems very rich and wide. The highend is produced very clearly along with lots of other sounds going on. The bass seems excellent, better than I would expect for a speaker this size. There is a depth to the audio that really makes the audio feel more like you're listening to a live performance. Drums, guitars, electric guitars, violins, as well as vocals and regular speech were reproduced clearly. The clarity and fullness of the audio seemed to make some vocals easier to hear and understand in some music. I also used it to listen to an audio drama for a bit and the vocals and background sounds were excellent.
Overall
The word that comes to me is premium. The Stanmore III has a premium look, a premium feel, and produces premium audio! I strongly recommend it.

Comfortable and Effective Wearable Air Conditioner
on April 24, 2023
Posted by: hotice
The Coolify 2S provides fast and effecting cooling, with a strong fan and some heating on a very wearable device.
Design
I think it's a very slick design, rounded and not too heavy or too lite. There's a power button on the right side and a mode switch button on the left side. Both buttons are raised enough for you to feel them and find them easily without looking. There's a small display to the left of the power button that tells you the current mode or the percent of the battery charge that's remaining. There are two pads, one on either side of the inside, so they touch your neck, that get hot or cold as needed. When cooling, this is in addition to the cool air blowing out. When heating, it's just these pads heating up. It does get firmware updates so make sure you update the Coolify 2S to the latest firmware. You'll need the app to do that.
Cooling, Heating, and Fan Modes
When I first saw this I was pretty skeptical. So does it work well? Yes it does! The Cooling (Air Conditioning) is the most impressive to me. It really does cool and it starts getting cold fast. The box said "cooling in 1 second" and I thought, yeah, right. Well, they were not kidding. If it's room temperature and you turn on the cooling, it starts blowing cold air and the inner pads get cold pretty much instantly. I don't think 1 second is an exaggeration. And if you turn up the fan speed, it really puts out a strong blast of cold air. I usually use it on the lowest setting because that still puts out a great amount of air. The Fan mode is the same of course but without cooling. The Heat mode does not use the fan, as mentioned above, but you can still adjust the intensity of the heat. It does heat up quickly and having any heat is a plus for sure. To me the pads feel like having very warm hand warmers on your neck.
Ease of use
The fact that there are two buttons, three modes and three settings for each mode makes it pretty easy to learn. It's is a bit odd to me that you switch between heat and cool modes by long pressing the mode button but then you switch to fan with a shot press of the mode button while in cool mode. Though after using it a bit I think it makes it easier to figure out which mode you're in or going to without needing to remember where you are in a three way toggle. The single press on the power button to change the intensity of all three modes is simple enough. Pressing the mode button while it's off with show you the current mode.
Comfort and Wearability
The Coolify 2S fits me well and is very comfortable to wear. It stays on, I have had no issues with it falling off, and it's just a great fit! It doesn't feel heavy at all. I can wear it sitting or standing. When laying down with it on doesn't work as well. The only other thing to consider is the noise. There is no noise with the heat but you will hear the fan if you use the Cool or Fan mode. Even on the lowest setting it may make it hard to hear some other things. I mean, there's a fan blowing air right over both ears. For normal talking it's not a problem but if I'm talking for a while with someone I may turn it off. It probably would be fine outside taking a walk while talking but I don't usually talk while I'm taking a walk. Anyway, just something to consider.
The TORRAS App
I strongly recommend using the Torras app. The app lets you see the battery life, which mode you're in, the intensity of the mode, and allows you to change mode or intensity. In fact, with the app you have a slider that gives more granular control over the intensity of each mode. So with the controls on the device you only have 3 levels of intensity but with the app you have much more granular control. Also, as mentioned above, you need the app to update the Coolify 2S.
Battery Life
They claim 3-28 hours based on settings and other factors. The battery doesn't go down fast. I've used it a lot and haven't charged it much. It works great and their battery life claims don't surprise me. I'm glad it charges with USB-C and includes a cord with a right angle connector so you can set it down right side up, or wear it, while it's charging. It does support using it while it's charging.
Summary
I found the Coolify 2S to be an amazing little air conditioner with an excellent fan that can also work as a neck warmer. I'm extremely impressed with how well and how fast the air conditioning works on it especially. I also think the battery life is very good. Another surprise was how comfortable it is to wear.

Great, portable, webcam solution

The Samson Go Mic provides good sound and video from a mobile, USB-C attached, mic and camera rig.
Design
The mic and camera part folds down and over into the base, under the clamp. It's a good fit and makes it easy for me to put it in my back pack, with the camera lens protected. There is also some weight to the base which I like. So I while it's designed to clamp onto a monitor or laptop display, it can also sit on a desk and I can aim the camera however I want. There is one switch on the left side of the mic/camera unit to switch the mic mode between cardioid (or unidirectional, for the person in front of it) to omni-directional (to get audio from all around). Be aware, as small as bezels are around displays these days the clap may very well go over a small part of the display. It did on my laptops. There is also a 1/8" stereo out jack.
Ease of Use
It's really plug and play. Just plug it in and wait a minute, then open your favorite video or audio application. I tried it on Windows 10, Windows 11, and a Chromebook and it worked well on all three. I tried it in different video and audio programs and it worked well. If you're using it on a laptop with a camera, you'll need to select the button to switch from your built-in camera.
Sound Quality
For my purposes the built in mic my laptops work pretty well. I didn't notice a significant difference in sound quality. You can use the mic without using the camera. I used it with a few different audio only applications. The one thing that is significant though is the option to switch to uni-directional audio. It doesn't eliminate the background audio but it does soften it noticeably. This gives the option of better recording of audio from the whole room or just the person in front of it.
Video Quality
I was happy with the video quality. It's better than my built in webcams on my laptops. For one thing, the performance is much better in lower light. The image didn't get all grainy. Also, it's 1920x1080 resolution instead of the 1280x720 on many laptops. That combined with the low light really helped the image look better for me. It also seems to be very low latency. It's just as responsive as the built-in cameras on my laptops.
Summary
I like the versatility of being able to clip it on the top of a monitor or set it on a desk. It's also great being able to switch between uni and omni-directional. The design makes it easy to travel with too. If you're looking for a good mic and camera for your desktop or an upgrade for your laptop, the Samson Go Mic could be a good solution for you.

Very bright, rich color, and nice features
on October 18, 2022
Posted by: hotice
The Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 is a bright 1280x800 projector with excellent color and a few nice features.
Design
The EpicVision Flex CO-W01 has a pretty typical projector design. There is a focus dial you can adjust from the top near the lens. It has an HDMI port, a 5V, 2A, USB type A port for powering some small remote display HDMI dongles, and a USB type B. It comes with a remote and the two batteries that are required.
Features
While it isn't a Smart TV, it has a USB port that can power some HDMI connected devices for casting. More about that later. There is also a USB type B port that can be used with a standard USB device cable to connect to a PC. When you plug it in, there is an install program available on a built-in flash drive. After you install that, the projector will mirror your display over the USB cable! So if you don't have the right kind of connector on your laptop that could help you in a pinch. That's something I haven't seen on a projector before and a great option to have handy so you're not looking for cables or adapters as much. The USB passes the audio as well as the display. It's not a high speed connection and does not seem to work very well for video, video will skip frames, but for showing a slide show or flipping through PowerPoint screens it will do the job well. There is also a "Freeze" button on the remote. I wish every projector had this! It holds the current image so you can do something else on your computer and then "un-freeze" when you're ready for the audience to see what's on your screen again. Focus and keystone are manual so you need to adjust them with the focus adjustment on the projector and the keystone adjustments using the remote.
Image Quality
This is not a native 1080p projector but it handles 1080p input well. The native resolution is 1280x800. Movies look great on it! It's very bright and the colors are excellent! It's so bright I have used it mostly on the "Eco" mode that's a little dimmer. It's still very bright and this has the advantage of the fan running more quietly. One thing I noticed with this is how much the projected image looked the same as what was on my computer screen. The colors were nearly identical - often they look very good but different than on my computer screen. Smaller text at 1080p doesn't look great since the native resolution is not 1080p but it's usually readable. You really don't notice that on shows/movies though and the brightness and excellent colors make it great for video!
Sound and fan noise
The CO-W01 has what seems to be a conventional built-in speaker. The sound is nothing special but it works. The volume can be controlled with the included remote. Also, as far as sound goes, this projector has pretty low fan noise. At least on the "Eco" mode that I mentioned above, the fan is very quiet. If you set it to "High" the fan noise is noticeably louder and could be more bothersome when watching a movie. I've found the "Eco" mode to be good even in a well lit room.
Remote
The remote works very well. I didn't have any issues with it responding to key presses. It didn't seem like I had to point at the projector too directly. There is a "Freeze" button, mentioned above, a menu button, a home button (which is similar to the menu button), a back button, a mute button, a mute/blank screen button, volume control, zoom controls, keystone, brightness toggle (Eco or High brightness), and a button for color mode (like Vivid, Cinema, and sRGB for example). The remote also works with HDMI CEC controls so you can use the projector remote for basic navigation of HDMI devices that are connected and support HDMI CEC control.
Streaming Devices
I tried three different streaming devices from three different manufacturers. The USB port powered two of the three with no problem. The third that didn't work, came with an AC adapter and if you try it on a USB port like this or a TV, it actually gives a picture on screen showing that you need to plug it in to the wall - so I didn't expect that one to work. I'm glad they gave it a USB port that can work for some or most streaming sticks.
Summary
I think this projector is a great value given the bright 3000 lumens and excellent color reproduction. I love the option of doing audio and display over USB too!

Great sound, fit, battery life, and heart rate!
on October 17, 2022
Posted by: hotice
The Liberty 4 wireless ear buds have excellent sound quality and great features like wireless charging and long battery life - plus they fit me perfectly.
Features
I wanted to start by listing out at least some of the features. I'll talk more about some as I go.
- Hi-Res LDAC audio (may need to update firmware first to use this, I did)
- Up to 28 hours of total battery life, though LDAC lowers battery life
- Wireless charging case for the ear buds
- In-ear detection, pauses music when you take them out and plays when you put them in
- Heart rate monitoring and tracking
- Excellent control customization options in the app
- Customizes audio based on your ear
- Hearing test in the app
- Tests for a good fit
- Noise Cancellation
- ACAA Coaxial Acoustic System - Apparently is a 3rd generation 2 driver system meant to improve sound quality
Design
The case has a very different design from others that I've seen. It slides open instead of having the normal flip-up top. I'm not sure that this is a plus or a minus but I think it looks cool and works well. I love the fact that it has wireless charging in the case. I've tested it on a wireless charger at home as well as in the car and it works as expected with both. That is convenient and means I don't need to keep a cord with me to keep my earbuds charged.
Fit
The earbuds fit me very well with the standard size tips that it comes with on it. There are three additional sizes that it comes with. One that's the same size but deeper, then one smaller, and one larger. The fit is very comfortable and they stay in very well. They are easy earbud tips to change. I've had some that I had to fight with a little to change the tips. I really like the way they fit my ears!
Controls
The controls are different. Instead of a capacitive touch button on the outside of the earbud or a physical button these use some sort of sensor in the stem. You squeeze the stem to activate the "button". There is one on each earbud. It works better than I thought and it's been much easier to get used to than I thought. It also makes it easy for me to adjust the earbuds in my ear without activating the buttons.
The Soundcore App
There is one app for everything including changing settings, monitor your heart rate, and update your ear buds, among other things. One thing it can do is customize the sound for your ears and your preferences. First it runs a test to analyze your ears and then it lets you choose customize the sound based on your preference. It also makes it easy to configure the controls of the ear bud any way you want. You have one, two, or three squeeze's available to configure on each ear bud. So you can configure volume up/down, play/pause, next/previous, noise canceling, and more. The app also lets you select three different settings for the noise cancellation: Noise Cancellation, Normal, and Transparency Mode. Noise Cancellation is full noise cancellation as you would expect. Normal is what any other ear buds would do with no input based on outside sounds. Transparency Mode has two settings. One passes through all outside audio, so you actually hear outside sounds more than you normally would. The other option is designed to only pass through voices while canceling out other frequencies. I like these options! It's cool because you can have sounds passed through while you're listening to music if you need to hear sounds from the outside.
Sound Quality
The sound quality is excellent! Music is full and rich with rich highs and deep bass vocals, guitars, and drums all come through well. I listened to some different styles of music and was able to hear subtle details and not so settle sounds also sounded excellent. Nothing sounded like the earbuds couldn't handle it or mis-represented the sound in any way. I've also been very happy with them for phone calls with excellent sound quality on my end and the other party never had problems hearing me. The best test of a phone call was one time I used it was in the car when it was raining hard. The noise cancelation did an excellent job of silencing the outside road/rain noise. It didn't totally eliminate it but nearly so and made the conversation very easy and the rain a complete non-factor. I think the results were excellent for something that doesn't go over the ear. The sound quality has been great on phone calls in general, that was just the best test I had with a lot of noise.
Heart Rate Monitor
I thought it was very cool that it has this feature and still can get such excellent battery life - they claim 28 hours with the buds and the case without using the Hi-Res Audio. It does seem to work with the rate going up and down as I would expect it to. It generally seems to run a little lower than my watch but it's entirely possible that the Liberty 4 ear buds are more accurate than my watch. The app tracks heart rate over time to monitor your stress level.
Summary
I'm very impressed with the sound quality, noise cancelation, and the features the Liberty 4 has to offer. To me these are excellent earbuds!

Keep your kids safe online with this Circle Home Plus monitoring setup. The included device uses your router to manage every device on your network, and Circle App makes it simple to limit screen time, filter content, and check browsing histories. This Circle Home Plus monitoring setup is easy to set up and lets you create custom settings for each family member.

Can this handle upload and download speeds of 100mbps or greater for gaming?

I'm not sure how it worked but I was impressed that I didn't notice it effecting any website load times, video conferencing, voice calling, or anything. Everything seemed just as fast as without the home plus. When things were blocked it took a few seconds for the block page to load. Things that are not blocked load like normal.

Do I need a monthly or yearly subscription to use this product?

You do need a subscription for all the features. The basic features, Filter, Usage time, and History of where someone went on the internet don't require a subscription but there are a lot of other features that do, like pause, bedtime, screen off time, time limits per app, etc.

Create fresh blended drinks and sauces with this BELLA eight-piece rocket blender. A compact design conserves kitchen space, while the dishwasher-safe cups and accessories ensure quick cleanup. This BELLA eight-piece rocket blender comes with a storage lid to save mixes for later use and a stainless steel grinding assembly for preparing dry blends.

Does it crush ice into snow cone smoothness?

Yes, I have used it to make "snow" a number of times! It blended ice into snow very well. My daughters loved it:) It does stick to the side, not the fault of the blender I think, but because of that you can only do so much at a time but you get a great snow consistency!

Call friends, get online and play apps with this Moto Z Force Droid smartphone. It’s designed around Moto Mods, interchangeable backs that snap onto your smartphone, instantly transforming it into a movie projector, boombox, battery powerhouse, and more. A capacitive touch screen and 16 million colors ensure a brilliant display that reacts smoothly, and Corning Gorilla Glass protects against shattering or scrapes when the phone is dropped. You can use this Moto Z Force Droid smartphone with its Android Marshmallow operating system to run Google apps.

1.) If I am currently grandfathered into Verizon's unlimited data & I purchase the Moto Z Droid Force here w/ the monthly payments for 2 years, will I keep the unlimited data? 2.) Does the $200 off promo work if I pay in full?

You probably will not be able to keep unlimited but just turn on the "Saftey Mode" and you'll never get billed for extra data. When you go over you limit Verizon throttles you to 1Mbps which is actually fine for most things.
