I've had a few friends with these and they've tried to talk me into getting one. Well after getting my Google Home I saw these on sale over the Holidays so I pulled the trigger. So glad I did! Very handy with the Google Home, if I want to watch a new movie trailer I just ask it to and tell it where to show it, "Ok Google, show me the new Rogue One trailer on the living room Chromecast" and boom...there it is!
Also nice for showing pics off your phone or even showing friends a new game. I love mine and fully recommend.

Best hairdryer and you will pay for it

Dyson is well known for cutting edge product development all the way up to how they package their products is top of the line. This hairdryer is no different as everything is very well protected. That being said, I've always had bargain bin hairdryers in the past I was naturally very skeptical of one this expensive. I mean, how much can you improve a hand held device that heats up air to dry your hair?
Well, a decent amount apparently because this device is impressive. It is built solid, feels great in your hand, and is fairly light weight. The magnetic attachments are very handy. The sound generated is noticeably lower than less expensive units. Performance wise it does seem to dry a bit quicker as well.
So what's the downside? The price! This is extremely expensive for a hair dryer and I can't really justify it being THAT much better than less expensive models. That being said, if money is a non issue and you want the best hairdryer out there, look no further!

I have been using an older trimmer kit for years so this was a nice upgrade. The unit is very powerful and has plenty of attachments.
I am also pleasantly surprised by just how powerful the unit is. It can power through tough beards in a jiffy! The battery holds a charge well and doesn't have to be charged that often. Maybe every couple of weeks for myself.
These would make a great gift for an older gentleman still using one of the old trimmers (like I was!).

Fantastic router for dd-wrt

I have owned a few of the old blue Linksys 54 routers. My parents were using one of my old ones up until this year in fact! They were built like tanks and performed well so I was excited to see an upgraded "old blue" style in this model. Not to mention openly support dd-wrt or other open source firmware.
What is dd-wrt? Well, it is an open source firmware that can turn a supported router into a very detailed and powerhouse of a router. It includes a lot of enterprise type features into a consumer product. And best of all, they usually perform better than bloated OEM firmwares.
Ok, on to this model. Features are rich (even on stock firmware). Performance is very good and coverage is excellent. So far it is the best router I've ever owned.
Is it worth the price tag? I'm a little split on this because there are some decent performing routers out there for a fraction of the cost. If you are a power user, then yes, I would recommend it. If you are an average user that cares nothing about playing around with open source firmware...you might be happier to save a few bucks and get a cheaper model.
I will say this, if this thing is built like the old "blue" routers of years past...it will be well worth the investment. Hope this helps!

Having never used the Amazon Echo and being a huge Google fan I was very interested to give Google Home a try. The device itself is very solid and feels sturdy. I like how it compliments my decor as well.
The unit works very well with my music app of choice (Pandora). It can hear me with no problems all through my kitchen and living room. Both rooms which run together in my house. Music is nice and clear and bass is surprisingly good from such a small unit.
Google assistant works well and I haven't stumped it yet when asking basic questions. Most of mine consist of sports and weather with a few random questions here and there.
I really like my Google Home but I'm really anxious to see more products added to the supported list. My old Harmony remote is on its last legs and I'd love to see them add Google Home support to their most recent line of remotes and hubs :)

Good idea, just doesn't pan out

The Acer Switch One has a lot of "cool" points for sure. The detachable screen is very useful and very cool. The problem is Acer has tried to bring a cool little switchable tablet into the arena against some other powerhouse competitors.
The first problem is this thing is running 2gb of memory, which is nowhere near enough for Windows 10. Let alone with all the preloaded crapware that in installed when you fire it up.
After a good cleaning up of the crapware it doesn't get bogged down quite as bad but it still struggles with the low amount of memory it has.
Screen and sound are average on the unit. But with the limited amount of RAM it has I wouldn't really recommend the unit to anyone outside of maybe your child that cares more about the "cool" factor than the functional part of it.

I have several of these cameras spread throughout my house as well as my Mom's. I love how the new app allows you to setup separate rooms (My House and My Mom's House) so I can just check in on certain areas.
The camera itself delivers very nice images and updates for 24 hours. Anything more than that and you'll need to sign up for the service through the app or your account.
Overall though, for the money, these are very nice cameras and the app has improved a lot since I first started using it. The only downside right now is that the app still defaults to SD images. You can change it to HD when viewing but it will be right back to SD the next time you view it. At least the alert pics you get remember which quality setting you specify in the app.

Google doesn't disappoint...much...

Google's Pixel has finally arrived! We've heard all the boasts from the company about how great the camera is and how smooth the new OS is (Android 7.1 Nougat) Well how does it all add up?
I've always been an Android fan and some of my favorite phones have also been the most visually challenged. This phone is no different. It doesn't have much "Bling" factor to it, but I love that! It feels solid and is built very well. It feels good in your hand when using it and it is the perfect size for stowing away in my pocket when it isn't.
The camera is as good as it has been billed. Naturally it isn't quite as good in low light situations but no camera is. But overall it takes some of the best pics I've seen from a camera.
Battery life seems decent but not great and the fact that it runs a pure Google OS with no phone manufacturer's added in "fluff" helps it.
The screen is very sharp and beautiful. Games and videos look great on it. Sound is about average for a phone, you can't expect much in that area from any phone.
Now the cons...and there are only a couple. Google could have really set the bar but they fell a little short in my opinion. The biggest disappointment being it doesn't support wireless charging. The other two being no microSD card slot to upgrade storage, and it isn't waterproof. These aren't deal breakers, but for Google to skip these is a little disappointing.
Overall, it is still one of the best phones out there and I would for sure give it a solid recommendation. I would give it a 4.5 if I could.

Great cordless vac with surprising power!

I was skeptical at first just how well a cordless vacuum would perform. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by just how powerful this thing is!
First off the unit is boxed securely and only takes a couple of minutes to snap everything in place. The unit was ready to use in less than five minutes.
Visually it is modern looking and it is also pretty light. I keep it stored on storage hooks in the wash room when not in use.
Performance wise, it has been great for my house but I only have a couple of rooms with carpet. I also use it in the kitchen and on my hard wood floors as well. I've really not noticed any difference in it and my corded vacuum other than this one is much more convenient due to being cordless.
Overall, I think the unit is a winner and an easy recommendation. The battery life seems very good and shouldn't have a problem vacuuming large houses filled with carpet!

Great setup, bit pricey.

I received this setup a couple of weeks ago and added it to a Netgear Nighthawk I already had in the house. Setup was fairly straight forward and the entire process took less than an hour. I placed the main router/hub on the opposite side of the house from the Nighthawk and placed the satellite in my basement. Both the far side of the house and the basement where trouble spots for my current Nighthawk.
I now have a full 5 bars of coverage everywhere in my home using the Orbi as an Access Point (AP). My lone complaint about the unit is having to go through the entire setup like I was setting up a new network and then having to go back into the settings to change it to an AP. But, that is nitpicking I know and only cost me a few more minutes of time.
Both Orbi units are functioning flawlessly so far and both have a very modern look to them. So far I can certainly recommend them for anyone looking to improve their wifi reception in their home or office.

We live in the country, and can only use satellite internet. It is not a real strong signal, and can be affected easily by weather. We also have a log home, which blocks the signal in certain areas of the house and porch. Would this help in our situation?
Honestly, any router can only be as good as the internet connection it has to pull from. Your problem sounds more like a internet service problem than a wifi problem. That being said, when you do have a decent internet feed these would help with giving you a better wifi signal through the logs and other areas blocking your signal. Good luck!

How load is it? I've used an Oreck XL upright and a Eureka Mighty Mite and would hope it's no louder as those. I prefer bagged vacuums but want to try the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser because of its claims of not getting hair tangled on the roller.
While I'm not familiar with either of those models you mentioned it is about the same as an old Hoover bag machine I have and the Dyson we have at work. I'd say it is in the average loudness range for an upright. Hope this helps and you should give it a try because the roller design does seem to prevent tangling up the pet hair ;)
