Great Addition to AppleTV 4th Gen

I use both the Amazon FireTV and AppleTV to stream movies and various apps. Since I have been using the AppleTV for AirPlay more recently I purchased this remote addition to make it easier to control my soundbar. I added a Yamaha soundbar to my Samsung TV to improve the quality of the sound and this remote allows to easily control the volume. The remote is programmed like any other IR learning remote so you need the original, but also not limited to predetermined code list either. The other small advantage is I know which way is up on the Apple remote. For those of us reaching blind for the Apple remote it can be difficult which end is the touchpad since it is all black. The Sidekick is added to the left side. Yes you can tell by looking at the lettering on the buttons on the remote, but challenging when you are over fifty and not wearing glasses. LOL

Great iPad for the Price

I purchase two of these basic iPads for my mother and another family member. They were on sale, but would have been a good deal at the normal price of $329. They are plenty fast enough and have an enough memory for normal internet surfing. I would suggest purchasing a larger unit if it was for parents who might download a lot of Netflix or Prime Video for offline viewing for kids or themselves. 32GB holds a lot, but if you get carried away downloading videos a larger unit would be less painful. The speed, ease of use, and overall quality of the device make it a great value. I also love getting the additional rebate from Best Buy being an Elite Plus member. I personally use a iPad Pro with 256GB and a Logitech keyboard, but I edit movies and photos from DSLR and drones. This iPad is more than powerful enough for the average user.

Combines Gimbal Lock w/ Lens Protection

I purchased this to combine the gimbal lock function with lens protection since I broken the DJI clear dome on day 1. (I was an idiot and broke the clear dome in my rush to fly my Mavik when I received it). The unit locks the gimbal well and has a lens protector with standoff distance from the camera front glass to have enough room if you leave a ND filter on the camera. It has a notch for the gimbal lock for the small protrusion from the gimbal to lock the camera in the proper forward position. It is a nice combination of both gimbal and camera lens protection. I use dome sun shade in addition to give the gimbal additional protection since my clear dome is boke. I store my Mavik in a dedicated case so this is all extra protection on the best drone I have owned.

Convenient Charger and Storage

If you are like me, you have invested in Bluetooth headphones even before iPhone 7 Plus came out. The problem with these lightweight headphones from many vendors is the lack of battery capacity. You have to charge some of them after every workout. This combines storage with a built in battery with a short micro USB cable to charge your headphones while be stored. It is a nice size not being much larger than most original cases and not too heavy with the battery enclosed. The unit has a battery indicator and a on/off button. At the right price, it is a good device to keep your wireless headphone buds charged and ready to go.

Charging Port Too Small

I read in some of the reviews before I purchased this case that the charging port was too small for all except for the Apple Lighting cable. I thought maybe my Anker and Amazon Lighting cables would possible work, but that was not the case. I returned the case the next day which is always easy with Best Buy. I wanted it to work because I like cases that have a separate soft silicone rubber case with a separate hard plastic wrap around case. I like putting the steel plate in between to work with my dash mount in the car, but no joy with this case. It is not the rubber flap that is the issue, the opening of the hard plastic outer case is the issue and I wasn't going to modify a over $20 case to make it work when I could simply return and buy something else.

Will this remote work on my apple TV? I lost my remote.
No. It is simply a learning IR remote and is not integrated into Siri. You can program it IR commands to each button from any other IR remote. I use it replace my soundbar remote. Apple remote is RF, Bluetooth keyboard if you are talking 4th gen. Earlier AppleTV's you could, but you would need an another remote to program the IR commands. You can use the iPhone app to replace a AppleTV 4th gen remote.
