The 5D Mark III is a joy to work with in both still photography and HD video. The Video capabilities are endless and to be able to pause the camera after 29 minutes and quickly resume recording, changed my attitude about shooting wedding ceremonies or events that exceed 2 hours. There are many Cinematic lenses available by Rokinon that give beautiful results when recording using a RIG.

sound from "optical out" ?
If I have 4 HDMI cables into the tv and only use the one OPTICAL cable to my older surround system (pre-HDMI), will the sound delivered be multi-channel for each of the different sources? Or will it be compressed to 2 channels?
My current TV requires that my sound be delivered to my stereo directly from the source (DVD, WII, Cable) otherwise it is only 2 channel. (HDMI cable from source to TV. Optical, Coax or component to my stereo)

I have a boston TVee Sound System with remote bass unit. (purchased at Best Buy) When using the optical cable, the unit will adapt to whichever output is being used by the TV and it also has its own remote that will search for multiple outputs from the TV.
