Solid and entertaining console

It's been a while since I've gotten a Nintendo "home" console. While I've played on them for years, the last one that I actually owned myself was the SNES. It's mostly because I've just been wondering when Nintendo would come up with something that completely delivered on their promises while actually bringing the third parties back into the mix. The Switch seems to be exactly that, which is why I decided to grab it during the last restock.
The hybrid set-up is amazing, though so far I've predominantly been using it as a portable. The Wi-Fi functionality is much more stable than previous home consoles with any Wi-Fi functions. The screen, while it is a bit small, is gorgeous, being almost exactly in between the size of the iPhone Pluses and the iPad Mini. Personally, I think it would've been just a bit better if they invested in a screen about the size of the iPad Mini. That would've been better for organizing the internals while offering room for a bigger battery.
The joy-cons are deceptively comfortable. They look like they'd be too small. But when I started using them, they felt very comfortable. Also, since the HD Rumble is a lot more nuanced in its execution, the comfort level doesn't really drop.
Due to the teaming with Unity and Unreal Engines, the console will also be a lot easier to develop for/port to than the previous home consoles. So, it'll be interesting to see both how and third parties return and in what ways. This is a major shift in ideology and form for Nintendo. And if it continues to succeed the way that it has, the Switch may very well transform the industry by getting Microsoft and Sony to come out with their own hybrid systems with solid state rather than optical for the people who still want physical copies.

Following four seasons of sexual tension between Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic), the fifth season opens with the two of them finally embarking on a romantic relationship together. However, they try to keep this new relationship a secret, particularly from their boss, Capt. Victoria Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald). Also, Beckett finally discovers who's responsible for her mother's murder and wrestles with whether she should carry out her personal vendetta against him. Likewise, an emotional Castle finds himself pursuing criminals when his daughter, Alexis (Molly Quinn), is kidnapped, and he receives help from an unlikely source: his estranged father (James Brolin). Several episodes this season give nods to pop culture, including Fillion's role on "Firefly," which is alluded to when Castle and Beckett investigate a murder at a sci-fi convention; and the show's 100th episode, which pays homage to "Rear Window" when an injured and housebound Castle believes he's witnessed a murder.

This season is easily within my top three seasons of the eight that we're getting. I don't know what else to say.

The complete seventh season of the ABC police drama Castle centers around the titular character (played by Nathan Fillion) and his upcoming marriage to NYPD detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), but unforeseen events threaten to derail the long-awaited wedding. Meanwhile, Castle and Beckett continue to tackle New York City's most perplexing murder cases.

Weak, but still enjoyable

This was one of the weakest seasons, but it's still good. And the overarching story dealing with investigation Castle's disappearance at the start of the season is pretty interesting.

The sixth season of this crime drama opens with Beckett (Stana Katic) accepting a marriage proposal from Castle (Nathan Fillion). However, their road to the altar gets a little bumpy when Beckett also accepts a new high-profile job in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, things don't go smoothly for Castle and Alexis (Molly Quinn) when he doesn't approve of the new boyfriend she's brought home from Costa Rica. Castle gets a glimpse at what parenthood would be like a second time when he and Beckett temporarily care for a baby who was carried into a church by a man dying from gunshot wounds. And Ryan (Seamus Dever) and his wife excitedly prepare for their first child, but she goes into labor while Ryan is investigating a dangerous arson case.

The summary title does kind of say it all. While it isn't one of the best seasons, it's still very enjoyable as the chemistry between the core cast continues to improve.

Better unrated than theatrical

First, yes. In comparison to the original Poltergeist, the remake sucks. It's hard to compete with something that realized and commented on its time so well. That said, part of the major problem with the theatrical version of the remake is that it never really took any chances in terms of its presentation. The extended cut does a bit better of a job with taking chances. The extended cut is a far better version than what the theatergoing audience got.

Formulaic story with a del Toro artistic streak

OK. First thing to say about Crimson Peak is that it's not the most original story. It's del Toro's take on stories like Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and other gothic fairy tale romances. Even though it's a very archetypal story, good lord is it beautiful and steeped in atmosphere. I also can't think of a better cast for the characters.

Sweet nostalgia
on April 22, 2016

Overall, the series is great. I will say that the closest thing to the source material in terms of its cynicism is probably Jurassic World. Naturally the best movie is probably the original Jurassic Park. And while The Lost World and Jurassic Park III are fairly weak movie, they're still a lot of fun. The nostalgia aspect makes it well worth the cost. And with this boxed set, aside from the standard dimension movies for Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, if you've got a Blu-ray player and TV capable of doing 3D, the boxed set comes with Jurassic Park 3D and Jurassic World 3D.

Good movie, better features

Really, the movie itself is pretty good, but it's not the best Star Wars movie. That said. The characters are great and there are really interesting storytelling choices, for which I won't give spoilers for the people who want to discover though. Also, the special features make it more than worth the price.

Kind of a prequel to The New Order

It's kind of a prequel, but that's not a bad thing. The story that is told is interesting. It expands the Wolfenstein universe more. And it plays well.
