OPERATION: For old fashioned brewed HOT coffee, start with the right cup (go big), add your water (under 16oz) into the reservoir, add the recommended coffee scoop into the reusable coffee filter and drop into the brew basket. Everything but the water and coffee is in the box. Press the HOT BREW (upper) button and in a few minutes you’re good-to-go.
For ICED coffee, using the included TUMBLER keeps the measurements simple. Fill the TUMBLER to the marked waterline, and pour into the reservoir. Use the recommended scoops in the reusable coffee filter. Place the now empty tumbler under the spout, but fill it with LARGE ice cubes. Mr. Coffee is still using hot water in this mode, and in order for the ice cubes to survive the cubes need to enter this process while still large.

Mr. Coffee makes a nice cup of coffee. Hot or iced. And it looks good doing it and it's a very compact coffee maker. We're able to modify the flavor intensity by adding more or less coffee grounds. We're also able to forget about those accumulating plastic cups. because none are needed.
Like I noted earlier, this is a fun experience all the way. The coffee is what you’d expect from Mr. Coffee, and the Iced Coffee feature just makes it that much more useful. And it looks good while taking up very little counter space. Readily recommended.

Soundcore Life Note 3 XR True Wireless Multi-Mode Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones
That game of “Never have I ever … “ jumped to mind as I finished setting up these in-ear headphones and began listening to my music collection. Quite simply:
I have never had earbuds connect so easily and quickly to my iPhones. and remain un-fussy re: connectivity.
I have never had such an immediately useful APP that proved intuitive to use.
I have never had so many adjustments available on a set of earbuds anywhere near this low price.
I have never had such an immediately comfortable earbud fit (although the seal has been troublesome for me).
This is not a rave review, however. Listening satisfaction was very dependent on “fit”, and that was difficult for me to achieve consistently. Getting earbud tips to fit is an ongoing frustration ….. no matter what brand of earbuds I try.

SOUND QUALITY and CUSTOMIZATION: I need to temper my enthusiasm here and spend more time with these Soundcore earbuds. But, my immediate impression is they sound really rich and maintain intelligibility and the voices are very good. The equalizer in the App has some great sound modifying curves to choose from. I can customize them. It is easy to get pulled into an obsessive cycle of fussing with the sound! I keep getting sucked into fiddling.

PHONE CALLS: “You’re on earbuds? Huh. I could never tell. You sound no different to me.” So much for phone call quality based on my questioning several callers. Listening to them, it was the same. Nicely done, Soundcore.

NOISE CANCELLATION: The Soundcore Life Note 3 XR offer 3 levels/quality of background modification. (They call it optimized noise canceling with Multimode Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling.) From the APP you can choose a typical noise cancellation profile: low frequency rumbles, engine drone and similar sounds are reduced.
In the APP is a selection that enhances certain background sounds (the user chooses) so that outdoor activities can be made safer.
And finally, you can turn off any background reduction or enhancement.
I can definitely hear an impact on the background sound, with sound enhancement working especially well. The background voice reduction setting is a bit more subtle. Similarly, noise reduction settings are not as great as I might prefer, but they definitely help. Here again, fit is critical for the best performance from this feature set. When I have my best fit, my scores in this area go up also.

ERGONOMICS: How the fit and shape of the earbuds meets your needs is a personal thing. These are the first of this specific design shape I’ve owned, and shape has proven to be irrelevant. I find them comfortable enough, when they stay put. With so many ear tips to choose from, I’ll experiment for better fit (waiting for foam earth from customer service), but I’d like a few, deeper or firmer ear tips. These Soundcores are also very light-weight. The charging case is small and easy to carry around. The earbuds have IPX5-rated protection. The earbud batteries should play for 7 hours before a charge is required and the carry case can add another 35 hours before it needs a recharge.
FIND MY DEVICE: In the settings (GEAR ICON) there is a simple control that triggers a high frequency signal that helps you locate your lost earbud. The frequency Soundcore has chosen will require a quiet room to hear. Bats and teenage girls, however, should have no trouble hearing it in a crowd.
SUMMARY: There is so much control. If you’ve ever felt you could do a better job shaping the sound of your music, here’s your opportunity. The underlying capability of the earbuds is broad, so there is lots of room for you to play around. I’m gonna find a pre-made sound contour out of the 21 provided by Soundcore or maybe make one of my own.
These earbuds, in my ears, are sensitive to the snugness of the fit. For this reason, I would strongly suggest that Soundcore add a few more ear tip types in the box, perhaps solid foam or other types to ensure a customer can find their preference. The extra eartips that Soundcore sent me helped greatly.

Air Fryers are far too popular to let them remain simple, single chamber, look-alike, rapid-cook ovens. We’ve been using our current model for a couple of years, but we’re not against trying something that makes it easier to cook the way we do. We’re constantly reheating take-out meals, leftovers and prepared entrees while also looking to add some fresh “sides”, veggies, or potatoey treats to our dinners. This Bella 8QT Dual Air Fryer makes it pretty easy to accomplish.
Air Fryers are far too popular to let them remain simple, single chamber, look-alike, rapid-cook ovens. We’ve been using our current model for a couple of years, but we’re not against trying something that makes it easier to cook the way we do. We’re constantly reheating take-out meals, leftovers and prepared entrees while also looking to add some fresh “sides”, veggies, or potatoey treats to our dinners. This Bella 8QT Dual Air Fryer makes it pretty easy to accomplish.
SETUP: 2 independent cavities have their own 4.0qt cooking baskets, and their own fans, and rapid heaters. Operation is no different from any other air fryer, but the Bella controls are intuitive and make it easy for you to use the added features.
There are 6, directly accessible, smart, built-in cooking programs: Air Fry, broil, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate.
You can also directly select LEFT, RIGHT, or BOTH baskets depending on your current use. After you choose a side, you have access to the TEMPERATURE and TIME for that side, followed by any Temp or time for the other side. You can change your mind before or after you start cooking. 2/3 of the way through cooking you will get shake reminder tones unless you turn that feature off.
If you want to have the same setting on both baskets, start on the LEFT side, program your cooking settings, and then “PRESS DUAL COOK”.
If you want to SYNCHRONIZE the cooking so everything finishes at the same time, PRESS “SYNCH FINISH”.
There is no need to remember any special button sequences. If you can accomplish a task, it’s all on the screen via a button press.
The various settings are a bit touch sensitive, but I suppose that’s better than ignoring my presses.

COOKING: Most suggested times for cooking while using both side of the Bella are increased by approximately 20% higher than just using the single basket. Bella offers a fairly complete chart in the instruction booklet. [I’d love to see higher quality guides from Bella, or maybe a recipe web link.]

We then did the same on the right side for the french fries. We set each side independently and selected SYNCH FINISH and watched the magic happen. The food is “held” suspended by the bottom plate, so leave that in for air frying. The food was very evenly cooked with a crisp outside, using the upper suggested times in the several online menus we found. There are many online recipes modified for Air Fryers. Just go a bit longer (20%) and check progress. You’ll catch on.

NOISE LEVEL: Kudos Bella!! Dear readers will not know that I took Bella over the coals for what I described as a “howler” of an air fryer dating back over a year ago. Here, I’m using both sides of this new Bella appliance at high temperature in air fry mode. With both fans spinning away, it is barely hitting 67db and when one side has finished, it drops to 60dB. This is quiet and lovely to not hear. Very nice improvement.
SUMMARY: We’re about to tackle some coconut shrimp and potato wedges. The Bella Pro 8 QT Dual Basket Air Fryer should have no problem tacking this type of dinner recipe mix. We’re pretty impressed with this Air Fryer. Bella is continually making improvements that makes their air fryers easy to use and easy to live with ..... and easy to recommend.

Silently Filtering and Purifying our Indoor Air

We’ve been able to test out a few filter systems in our home, and with COVID a new concern, our requirements are even greater than before. This new Air Purifier from Instant Home adds some impressive new features we’re trying out. Bottom line: the Instant AP300 is proving that it’s a seriously effective room air purification tool. From its advanced filtering, to its enhanced germ killing technology, and its easy-to-live with design, the Instant AP 300 is very easy to recommend. It’s intelligent automation relieves me of having to fuss over one more thing in my life. The biggest surprise of all is how it matches the performance of a purifier costing 5X its price.

OUT-OF-THE-BOX this 21”high x 10.5” diameter pearl white cylinder has the simplest of setups. Open the bottom filter door so you can pull off the plastic wrap on the large multi-layered filter. That’s it. Insert the filter; Close the door. Plug in the INSTANT Air Purifier. Hit the POWER ON button and watch it count down from 30. If you want the purifier to operate in full AUTO mode, you’re done.
The APP: There is NO APP. I know, I know. On the one hand I like connected devices even if they can be aggravating. However, I simply don’t need the connectivity. I simply don’t care with the Insta AP300. The smart technology and complete automation that works wonderfully overcomes any misgivings I might have.
AUTO MODE: The INSTANT AP300 selects a speed based on its measurements of air quality and can operate without user interaction for 24 hours/day. This particular unit is designed for a 388 sq ft room, which is a fairly large bedroom or average family room or office. The panel light glows WHITE, YELLOW, or RED to indicate good, fair, or low quality air during the current operational cycle. Quality is based on the presence of various levels of 2.5 micrometer particles per cubic meter of air. According to Instant, the unit has a sensor that has a tolerance of +/- 20 micrograms per square meter. IF YOU want filtering all the time, select a preferred fan speed and forget about it. I want the Instant AP 300 to take control. The filtering design, Plasma Ion logic, and sensing technology have got this all under control.
FILTER: The 3-in-one filter and plasma ion technology is claimed to remove 99.9% of dust, smoke, pollen, dander and other allergens. Test were performed to show that, with room size limitations and greater air exchanges and with the plasma technology on, COVID virus counts were reduced by 99.9%. Filter efficiency claims are certified by AHAM. Other tests were performed under laboratory conditions, and the test virus used was actually COVID-19. The filter also has an Antimicrobial coating to reduce bacterial growth during use and a CARBON FILER layer to help reduce odors.
PLASMA ION Technology: Instant’s test results suggest that the ionizer used is effective at reducing the viability of bacteria, viruses and mold that is pulled through this filter. It is NOT an ozone producer. There is no tell-tale odor associated with ozone and Instant Brands support indicated that their plasma system has been tested and certified to be ozone-free (less than 0.005 ppm). Instant’s certification labels on the unit repeat the claim. [Ozone has a distinct odor which humans are VERY sensitive to, smelling like an electrical spark, or metallic, and it is irritating. My experience with medical equipment cleaners has given me exposure to that smell. It is definitely not present here.]
NOISE LEVEL: The fan in the AP300 is quite large but it is suspended on a mount that is isolated from the outer shell rather well. This eliminates the hum you often hear with most mechanical devices. It difficult to tell that it’s on at the lowest speed. It only makes its presence know when it’s moving lots of air through that filter. I use my iPhone sound check software and a dB meter to double check sound during my home’s VERY quietest periods. Here’s what I measured.
Lowest Speed: 33dB at 1 meter away. Essentially silent in the quietest house at night.
Medium Speed: 44dB at 1 meter away. Barely audible, daytime, considered a quiet home level.
Highest Speed: 68dB at 1 meter away. You can’t miss the rushing air sound.
This is the air purifier you want to have in your bedroom at night. We’ve never measured a quieter room filter.
Lowest Speed: 33dB at 1 meter away. Essentially silent in the quietest house at night.
Medium Speed: 44dB at 1 meter away. Barely audible, daytime, considered a quiet home level.
Highest Speed: 68dB at 1 meter away. You can’t miss the rushing air sound.
This is the air purifier you want to have in your bedroom at night. We’ve never measured a quieter room filter.
ECO Mode: The Instant AP300 will switch into ECO mode when its 10 minute test cycle shows HIGH QUAITY AIR. If AIR QUALITY drops to any other condition (LOW or MEDIUM) the AP300 pauses ECO mode until Air Quality is returned to HIGH. You can force the AP300 into full-time operation by selecting any of the FAN SPEEDS other than AUTO. For the impatient, it may seem like the AP300 has simply shut off during its ECO mode, but it definitely wakes up to test air quality and pull air through its filters. I watched and waited.
The LIGHT level of the display can be manually selected (4 levels) but it reverts to AUTOMATIC during the next DAY or NIGHT mode occurrence. Holding down the preferred LIGHT mode for 3 seconds keeps it in that setting.
SUMMARY: So, how does this new Instant AP300 work? We’ve been using it for a few weeks and it is impressive. It’s really really quiet. It’s very easy to operate and has more than enough flexibility to be placed in a bedroom or an office and meet whatever requirements I have. The filter is substantial and inspires confidence.The technology has been tested to achieve the stated filtering and microbe killing effectiveness. Compared to an air purifier costing 5X this price, it senses and addresses poor air quality at the same time and with matching performance. And, the Instant AP300 looks good, but operates quietly, no matter where you put it. Highly recommended.

DigiPower The Achiever - Video Call Pro kit. If you’re photographing desktop items, are involved in vlogging, or spend any amount of time on conference calls, you need good lighting and a very stable camera support. The Achiever from DigiPower is all of that, and they’ve done it all exceptionally well.
Observations:
The included instruction diagrams are helpful.
Both the camera and light clamps hide their best trick. They expand by pulling apart so they fit your camera and/or the light bar. It’s a snug fit because of the continuous tension. (The clamps are so nicely built, they hide their expansion joints.)
Weight and construction are solid, but certainly portable.
The box is designed as a carry case (sort’a) or you could acquire a small case if the carry box is too commercial for you.
Connectors and attachments manage to be flexible but very secure.

SUMMARY: Like I said, The Achiever has this videos/photos via camera phone pretty well thought out. Or, clip its light to your screen if it has an embedded camera lens. This is my typical configuration, followed by the phone holder features.
More to the point, The Achiever is aggravation relief. It takes away that “amateur” label you’ll earn if you’re vlogging in the shadows, or your photos are grainy and poorly lit or you have to constantly adjust your camera during a conference call. Transforming an iPad Air into a near Laptop

I come back to Logitech for my Mac solutions pretty often these days. In fact, we’ve come back to this remarkably similar Combo Touch for my wife’s 2021 version of the iPad Air (4th Gen) which appears almost identical to the Combo we acquired for an older iPad Pro 10.5”. Similar, but seemingly improved in a few important ways, described below.
SETUP: Snap this snug, softly protective case around your iPad Air and you feel pretty confident it won’t be damaged from a drops. Click in the keyboard and you’re ready to work. Nothing else needs to be done. No Bluetooth. No battery charging. Everything has been accomplished behind the figurative curtain, because the Apple “smart connector” makes all the linkages for you and the iPad provides what little power is needed. Download the Control App so you can manage updates, etc.
FEATURES: Right off, it’s apparent that Logitech reacted to criticisms and made some improvements on this newest Combo Touch. This cover feels a bit lighter and thinner. The magnetic attachment feels much stronger. (In my original review I complained that that magnetic connection was weak to the point of concern.) I was able to use this configuration on my lap without the keyboard “falling” apart and off my lap. And, ironically, a great feature is how the keyboard can be disconnected for truly easy tablet performance. One side of the cover is open so the Apple pencil readily attaches.
We liked the feel of the keyboard and the trackpad. We can use that row of shortcut keys to adjust the BACKLIGHT, access the HOME BUTTON, screen BRIGHTNESS and VOLUME controls, VIDEO CONTROL (back, play/pause, forward) keys, SEARCH button, show/hide the onscreen keyboard, and a lock screen button.
SUMMARY: This newest version of the Combo Touch feels better, builds confidence in its fit and finish, manages to transform our iPad Air into an even more functional laptop than those earlier versions. The added weight is more manageable. The ability to fully transform the already wonderful iPad into a very useful and convenient laptop configuration makes this purchase very easy to justify.

The electric kettle that pours as good as it looks! Uniting stunning design with thoughtful features and a simplistic user interface, Fellow’s Stagg EKG packs a powerful punch. Since different coffees and brew methods require different water temperatures, a home brewer needs complete control in order to perfect recipes. The checklist for a successful pour-over, coffee-making experience must include a way to heat up the water in a manner that is accurate and repeatable. If you’ve done this before, you know that a controlled, slow pour of the heated water is a critical feature. This Fellow Stagg EKG pour-over kettle is an attractive counter-top appliance that we’re adding to our kitchen tool kit.
The Fellow Stagg EKG kettle has the simplest of controls which includes (viewed from the front):
1- an LCD readout on the left,
2- a POWER switch with dial-in temperature setting on the right, which also has a stop watch function,
3- a Fahrenheit/Celcius slide switch on the rear left panel, (set and forget)
4- A slide switch on the rear right panel switch which HOLDS or maintains the desired temperature for an hour. (you can probably set and forget this, too.)
1- an LCD readout on the left,
2- a POWER switch with dial-in temperature setting on the right, which also has a stop watch function,
3- a Fahrenheit/Celcius slide switch on the rear left panel, (set and forget)

Operation requires FILLing the kettle with water up to the MAX line, setting the temperature and waiting for the 1200 watt heater to do its thing. It’s fast and, if you’ve set the hold, it maintains the water temperature for the hour. This is where the Stagg EKG design makes your coffee predictable and repeatable. The spout design means it is virtually impossible to pour too fast. We found the speed is just right and controlling the flow is easy. The kettle capacity at the MAX line was sufficient to fill almost 4, 8oz coffee cups.
The EKG has a nice balance to it which helps compensate for the tilt required to get the hot water flowing.The lid fits snugly so it’s not popping off. You will need to be careful with the vent holes, which, though they are off to one side, sends steam toward the knob. It wasn’t a problem, because we don’t fuss with the cap while pouring.
This is a lovely addition to the pour-over coffee-making process. It looks good while improving our coffee. It helps make us look like we know what we’re doing. We can endorse that.

A marvelous modifiable musical experience

Jaybird’s Vista 2 True Wireless Sport Headphones (Nimbus Gray) are purposely built to accompany an exercise regime and provide a soundtrack to go along with it. They are IPX68 rated (waterproof, sweat proof and dustproof) and have a military spec certification, ensuring a high level of ruggedness. Their simple design, very light weight, and comfortable fit removes any irritations. And the music reproduction can be fully modified to meet my idea of accuracy as well as my desire for either solitude or inclusion in my surroundings. These are great performers.
SOUND: It’s pretty much pointless to talk about sound quality when there is so much fine tuning built into these earbuds. The Vista 2 already start with a baseline of smooth and balanced sound with a very wide frequency range. Detail is wonderful and the bass is super, IF you get a good fit. YOU are in complete control of every aspect of the sound, building on this solid baseline. Jaybird’s APP offers a really wide collection of pre-set calibrations, including some truly awful ones, and a a much bigger selection of very useful ones. Better yet, you can create and save your own favorite sound modifications. You will discover you can mimic any other earbuds you’ve ever tried on. But, these Jaybirds are probably less expensive and more robust. Pump up the bass, slope the treble up or down. Have fun. The Jaybirds have another great feature: You can create a personal EQ which is employs a multi-frequency tone generator and, based on your unique hearing curve, creates an EQ that should correct for your hearing deficiencies. I had no luck on my first attempt. I wondered if I was deaf. I had complete success the next day and ever since. Be patient and persistent. The Jaybirds have first-use quirks which seem to sort themselves out pretty quickly.
FEATURES / SETUP: Initial setup was frustrating for me using my iPhone 12. Jaybird can do better with their instructions. Attempting to pair the earbuds with my phone and adding the App as directed did not work. Instead, once I installed the App and had it running in the background, pairing the earbuds with Bluetooth from scratch (I had cleared the device from Bluetooth), allowed the App to immediately find the earbuds.
Subsequent cycles of turning the Jaybirds off by placing them in the case, recharging and putting them into use was trouble-free.
When the APP did have trouble connecting my earbuds, placing the earbuds into the case, if only for a few seconds, and then removing them triggered a re-connect.
It seems only fair to describe the Jaybird Vista 2s as a bit fussy (at least in my test with my iPhone 12).
Subsequent cycles of turning the Jaybirds off by placing them in the case, recharging and putting them into use was trouble-free.
When the APP did have trouble connecting my earbuds, placing the earbuds into the case, if only for a few seconds, and then removing them triggered a re-connect.

SUMMARY: Jaybird’s Vista 2 True Wireless Earbuds have a huge suite of useful features, although a couple are not as reliable as I’d hope. The Vista 2 have a wonderful build quality for sport’s enthusiasts and it was very easy to find a comfortable fit. But, I’m a gym person, so my demands are limited. If you’re bicycling or running out in a more hostile environment, you’ll have more stringent requirements which I can’t fully address. Sound quality is exceptional and so easy to modify into any sound profile you prefer. Connectivity was not up to my expectations but, then, your experience might be better or worse. Because of all the positive and unique qualities, I’d recommend these Jaybird Vista 2 earbuds to anyone.

Super comfort and great sounding

The JLAB Studio ANC Wireless On-Ear Headphones deliver everything they promise. Whether it’s the sound, the comfort or the extended operating time, these are headphones that challenge the notion of “you get what you pay for.” There is NO need to apologize for the price ‘cause I can’t find any place JLAB has made a sacrifice.
SETUP: Charge them with the included cable. You’ll need your own USB charger. These JLABs come in a bright blue package that includes a nice black carry bag, the USB charging cable, a direct connection headphone jack and the over-the-ear headphones. No one will confuse your cables for theirs; these are as blue as the package. You’re ready for some music. A very long listening session.
The controls are very easy to find on the right ear cup, and there is sufficient finger feel so I could find the volume, ANC, and easily manage PHONE CALLS. Phone calls, by the way, were clear. The other party had no difficulty hearing me.
PERFORMANCE: Way way above their price. I sat for a few hours trying these out on my favs playlist. I listen to all types of music. I had an extended session with John Legend, Emmylou Harris, Billie Eilish, CS&N, Sugar Ray, Amy Winehouse, Majid Jordan, the Weeknd, Foo Fighters, J. Cole, Cardi B, Beirut and others to soak up a range of voices, instruments and beats. I’m not a heavy bass head, but the JLABS had no problem delivering anything at I wanted to hear at any volume I tested. The sound was very natural. There was zero sibilance where you’d expect to hear it, on female voices. There is no unnatural heaviness on male voices. I did find that using the iPhone’s LOUDNESS EQ in the music settings got the JLab’s to my preferred tonal balance.
The comfort was exceptional. I didn’t reach up to adjust the headphones for the longest time. They just don’t attract attention to themselves from a comfort perspective. This sitting-on-the-ear design seems to imply I’m sure to miss sound quality, or they’ll be fussy to get properly located, but nothing could be further from my reality. I’m not going to suggest you might bike or run or exercise with these, but normal activities are not awkward, at all. I would comment on battery stamina, but I got bored waiting for them to exhaust themselves. JLAB is suggesting 34+ hours but without specifying volume and ANC use. We’re likely to have different results, but it is a lengthy playtime.
I did find the ANC effective. Whereas the best noise cancellation systems can suck out external sound so completely it’s distracting, the JLABS are at the next lower tier of effectiveness. But, they do reduce background droning of engines and voices, and that’s what I want most.
SUMMARY: I’m going to forget how much these cost and simply enjoy them. I don’t know what special sauce JLAB has applied to these JLAB Studio ANC Wireless On-Ear Headphones, but it’s working just fine. I like light-weight headphones, the most natural sounds without coloration or undue emphasis, and the added noise reduction of premium headphones. I guess that makes these a premium headphone for many of us. I like’em a lot.

My experience has been quite good. This was a purely indulgent purchase. We come from a generation when you never want to run out of food or miss an opportunity during store food specials. This LG ends those fears. It simply soaks up frozen and refigerated foods. We love the open cabinet space and various door and specialty spaces.
I've placed calibrated thermometers in multiple locations in the frdge. It took almost 3 days for the temps to settle down, but now they are within a 4 degree range of the settings. (The LG does NOT show the temp, ONLY the settings. You must use your own thermometer.) The door space in my unit is only a couple of degrees higher, and only during periods of use. The drawers are usually colder than the open space of the fridge. My situation may be unique.
The low noise level is especially welcome. We loved our previous Maytag, but this is another level of quiet. We wondered about the extra depth, but the approx. 2" are not an issue for us. Tighter kitchens may present a problem.
I also called customer service with LG during the 1st 48 hours to understand why the fridge was taking so long to reach the settings. There is a language issue. The pleasant person on the phone struggled with anything other than the simplest presentation of facts, had no appreciation for humor, and was fairly quick to over-react to criticism. Her attachment to the script was frustrating. Most importantly, telling a customer that it's perfectly fine and normal for the temp setting to be 37 and the actual temp to be 42 is wrong. She did not understand that the "setting" is NOT the actual temperature. She then fussed around and helped me cycle through the demo/operational settings which may or may not have helped. The temperature did settle in another 24 hours nad has been perfect for weeks. Customer service needs some work..
I should also add that this purchase was originally made at another long-time national retailer who utterly failed to complete the delivery due to incompetence. Best Buy/Pacific handled sale and delivery with wonderful professionalism.

I would probably lower the score by 1/2 star after several months of use. You may feel differently. . . . That cute middle slide drawer in the freezer needs a redesign. It occasionally pops out of its track with very little effort. It does not pop back in quite so easily. We've not yet figured out what we've done wrong but with unusual caution and we can avoid the problem. Busier families with kids will not be so fortunate. It'll be an aggravation.

It could get loud without harshness out of a cute beer-mug sized device. Without any other command, Pandora was now playing. Seemed like magic to my visitors who were listening in to my conversation with Google Home while I was setting it up.

Set up took less than 10 minutes, but I don’t have many of the partner products (NEST, Philips Hue, SmartThings, IF) that Google Home operates with right out of the box. But Google Home has a nice bag of tricks with which to work. With the right Chromecast enabled speakers, you can apparently get the house rocking relying on Pandora, Spotify, Google Play, Youtube Music, or Tunein to provide the tunes.
Both my wife an I are getting a kick out of challenging Google to provide weather reports, news updates, or filling in our grocery list (using Google Keep). It’ll do a very accurate job of answering trivia questions and has no trouble deciphering our voice commands. It could provide the names of local restaurants and addresses, but couldn’t schedule a table for us. It could list where movies were playing, but not when. Google Home easily picked out our voices over a playing TV and was quick to respond. It wasn’t ready with TV schedules, however . . yet.
For me, the real excitement begins if/when Google operates my Logitech Harmony Theater system hubs, my HomeBrite Devices, or maybe lets us order from some online stores. I have no trouble recommending the Google Home device, but I’m also expecting ti to expand its partner list. These are wonderfully useful gadgets, but they rely on Google to play nicely with a variety of other products that I want to control.

I discovered an aggravation in recent days with my Google Home. if you've set up a roaming or extended network in your home, there is a potential problem. (Others with a simple, single router, network can stop reading.) At some point, typically after moving your Google Home or manually quitting then restarting WiFI, you may discover Google Home can't connect to your network. Huh? You've got it extended everywhere in your house and you have a problem ONLY with Google Home? Seems silly. Well, Google Home wants to see your original setup device (phone/tablet) on the same BRANCH of your network. Anything else creates a crisis. Start over, be sure to find the Google device with your setup App on your phone/tablet, and re-establish the connection. Be patient, it will reconnect.

I WILL volunteer to vacuum. Of course, I haven’t developed my wife’s skills or strategies for coping with our home’s diverse floor landscape. All those transitions to wood, tile, various carpet types and back again, through a forest of chair legs, blind hallways, low hanging sofas, beds and chairs, and scattered debris, most of it mine. I’m a work in progress. Which brings us to this iRobot Roomba 890. Kudos to the teams of skilled designers, engineers, of focus groups who built and tested a robot that so successfully accomplishes that which has confounded me for so many years. My wife, our specialist, will have the final judgment on the Roomba.
Setup requires a minimal amount of planning. The Roomba’s charging station needs to be located where the Roomba can find it, be plugged in and docked. At this point, after a few hours to fully charge, you have a working automated, intelligent vacuum. Hate technology? Don’t need it. Press the CLEAN button (x2) whenever you’re ready to vacuum. For me, it’s as I’m heading out the door. And I love technology, just not vacuuming tech. Most others will want to take advantage of the Roomba’s ability to schedule vacuuming sessions, get notifications, and monitor cleaning cycles from the app. Once it’s on your home Wi-Fi, a connected Roomba will work with Amazon’s Alexa.
I’m not going to detail the Wi-Fi connection process. It’s not that it’s lengthy but it requires your close attention to details. My efforts required some restarts, but then, I’m notorious for trying everything first with minimal scanning of the instructions. Don’t try that with the Roomba. Also, you may be jolted by the “unsecured network message” (on the iPhone), but that only indicates a temporary setup condition while configuring the nearby Roomba. Roomba’s online support provides easy-to-follow help if you get into trouble. Don’t be reluctant to reset or restart, as this solved all my issues.
How does this Roomba 890 work? Navigation is effective, as it deals with obstacles, drops, rises, and transitions without problems. Watching the Roomba negotiate my tangle of wires, sneak under our low sofas (low even for our manual upright), and easily climb over our various throw and area carpets is impressive. In places we were sure it would get stuck, it either solved the predicament or avoided it. The combination of sensors, thoughtfully designed rollers and spinners, and logic makes these Roombas special. Oh, and it is surprisingly quiet. We didn’t have to adjust the TV volume, even as it maneuvered around our chairs. At just shy of 90 minutes it found its way back to the charging dock.
My wife’s evaluation? She’s quite willing to leave our home in the tireless, relentless, fastidious care of our new robotic housecleaner. The iRobot Roomba 890 is pretty competent. I think you know my feelings.

Well, now you've got me wondering if I was sloppy in my review. So, I ran another test today, several weeks after my initial posting. I set my Roomba off on its task by double-clicking the CLEAN button. Set my stopwatch . . . and . . . you can almost set a clock by my Roomba. On my iPhone I got 1:29:10.25 (89 minutes) of vacuuming. Yes, I have 85% hardwood floors (with several large oriental rugs), tile in the bathrooms, and the remainder in a carpeted bedroom. And I do hear the motor working a bit harder on carpet. Your experience will certainly differ, but I'm confident you'll get well past an hour.

Yep. I added cameras from the previous wireless series (1080p) with no difficulty. Your added cameras need to be Night Owl wireless type but they definitely work.

What is the sound decible? I have sensory issues and your BC vacuums tend to be extremely loud
Sound level for our vacuums is a pet peeve of mine, so I make it a point of measuring. With my uncalibrated iPhone App I measure my house on a typical day at 44dB. We're quiet. This vac kicks the noise up to 75-77dB from a yard or two away. The pitch, overall, is not too bad, except for a bit lower volume, higher frequency sound I find annoying. This isn't a quiet vac. Ask the BB store support to fire one up for you. I should note that various vacs of the same model might have differing volumes and pitches.

Does the drip pan go underneath the heating element or above?
The instructions on Page 5 of the instructions (item 17) say to only place the drip pan on the oven floor, under the heating elements. This is in direct conflict with the diagram on page 8, where the drip tray is drawn so that it is clearly on the first pair of guides (runners) ABOVE the heating elements, and not on the oven floor. The fact is, it will not sit on my upper guides. It only rests on the oven floor.

The m6 appears to sense the unique hole pattern on the mounting plate of each pad type to identify the dry or wet pads and perform tasks accordingly. If I'm correct, it seems unlikely that a generic pad will work properly.

We have a pretty big open floor plan and own a roomba i series that empties itself. The only thing holding me back on purchasing the mop is if there is a mechanism where it goes back to its station and can refill with water or does it stop when out?
Our m6 heads back to its dock and the App indicates that it needs a refill. The mop is a bit more hands-on that the vacs.
