I was skeptical of the "smart" features of the TV due to how ambiguous the wording is in the product descriptions, but it ended up being perfect.
To be clear, it is not a "smart TV" (no built-in apps) it is a TV with built-in Google cast (Chromecast). I was planning to attach a Chromecast to my TV anyway, so that saved me an HDMI input.

However, the setup is a bit tedious, and does require a smartphone or tablet to completely set it up (you can skip the full setup and just use it as a TV, with no Google cast, if you don't want to go through the hassle).
It also relies on the smartphone/tablet to control certain settings (brightness, color balance, input naming, etc).

The picture quality is fantastic, although it can appear slightly washed out at high viewing angles. Do yourself a favor and manually go through every picture setting and adjust to your liking. The presets are terrible.
