I will need to start this off by informing you all that I own home theater and sound equipment in almost every room of my house. My media room has a Klipsch Reference 7.1 system using a pair of RF-26. While my family room uses a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2.
The Sony Core speakers does create solid sound for highs and mids, but the bass does not go very deep. This means for most music and as part of a home theater setup there will be a need for a sub. I tested these speakers with a mix of music from country, R&B, EDM, and jazz. Vocals come through clearly, instruments are distinct, but without the added on subwoofer, the drums and bass guitar did not reach the listener very well. This is a very good entry floor standing speaker.
The entire Sony Core set plays very well with the other parts and can be purchase for less than $500 when everything is on sale. I wished they had a smaller bookshelf speaker for back surrounds for people without a large space to fill or have to put them next to their seating.
I bought them for an entry level set up for a friend who wanted to upgrade from a HT in a Box. I would recommend them if you find them on sale with the matching subwoofer for around $300 to $350.
Upgrade your entertainment setup with this Sony ST7 HTST7 soundbar that features 450W total system power and includes a 100W wireless subwoofer for authoritative bass. Three HDMI inputs and an HDMI output allow connection of high-definition peripherals.
I got this at a steep discount, being an open box item, but I can say it is worth more than I paid for it. I listen to loads of music and can say that it does a solid job. I play everything on Standard (std) sounds settings for the most realistic sound. The sound is very clean for a sound bar. With clear vocals and crisp bass. Having the separate tweeters built-in to the sound bar and a sub w/ a big passive radiator instead of being ported, will do that. It is a solid choice for someone that needs room filling sound bar. The second generation of this sound bar is out and it sounds even better, but I just can't justify the cost. The FIVE star rating comes from its ability to deliver that type performance. If I paid full price, I would have given it a THREE star rating.
Enjoy immersive sound with this Klipsch Reference R-26F floorstanding speaker that features dual 6-1/2" copper-spun IMG woofers and a 1" aluminum diaphragm-compression LTS (linear travel suspension) tweeter to deliver cross-spectrum audio.

I will start by saying that I have spent over 5 months listening to great speakers attached to great receivers. I have found qualities in all the speakers i listened to that were good. It really came down to price when I made the choice to purchase the Klipsch floor standing speakers.
The horn tweeters on these floor standing speakers direct sound in a way that creates sweet spots with vocals and string instruments. The sound is good in the room, but the sweet spot will give you that live concert feeling. The mids for the speakers are sharp. The problem lies with creating bass. The speakers simply cannot get low enough. I have bass +3 on my bi-amp connected 7.2 Sony receiver and it can barely keep up with the bass guitar in rock albums. Hip-hop music sounds good until it tries to go below the 60hz range. My setup is only for music and TV, not movies, so I have no intentions of bringing in a subwoofer. I feel if the speakers were 3 way with a dedicated mid driver the lows would not be missing as much.
I do recommend the speakers if you want good music and when they are on sale. They are worth a listen in the under $500 range for a pair. I would go with B&W or Martin Logan if I had a larger budget.
RCA LED40C45RQ LED HDTV: With a 1080p display, this RCA HDTV provides crisp, clear images for your favorite movies and TV shows. The 4000:1 contrast ratio delivers a rich picture, while digital noise reduction helps ensure high-quality images.
I wanted a temporary replacement for a 3 year old Sony Referb. The TV weighs next to nothing so mounting was easy, and the picture is slightly above average for the price and brand. Works well as a monitor, just not sure how long it will work.
