Problem with ice maker

I love my fridge but there is a problem with the ice maker. The ice maker leaves a flaky substance in my water. I know it is now my water because If i only get water, the water is crystal clear. It is only when I get ice and then water that it leaves white flakes in my water. I am still giving this fridge a chance to cycle through the ice make to see if the problem goes away.
