This adapter worked great during my travel to Iceland. Please note that it is only for charging electronic devices (phone, laptop, tablet, etc.) that have chargers already rated for the differences in voltage. It WOULD NOT WORK to power a hairdryer or other appliance.

Can I plug a flat iron into this adapter?

No, it won't work on a flat iron. The voltage difference will burn up your flat iron. You need to get a voltage converter/adapter.
