Had an entertainment/GPS install done at my local BB. The tech was knowledgeable about the equipment going in, did an acceptable job for the time taken, but it appears that the job was rushed.
I would however give them a 2nd chance with my door speakers to prove me wrong. I don't want this to sound like a rant as some of the work was very well done, some just appeared distracted.
The rearview camera, while mounted where I asked has a large open hole with no grommet or even silicone to help keep moisture out of the license plate lights. The dash panel and face unit is not mounted flush to the dashboard on the passenger side. It sticks out about 1/16th of an inch, which may not seem like a lot, but is noticble when looking at the unit and the face plate. There are also some scratches to the dashboard, but was able to buff them out. This appears to be the case because it is required to use the factory harness for the unit but those are on still on the head unit.
While I recognize my car is not the easiest to work on. A little more care would have been appreciated. Additionally instead of doing 20 minutes of pre-wiring for rear DVD or satellite radio I will now have to have someone rip out the entire headunit, instead of just being able to route cables. I will take partial fault for this since I did not explicitly ask for it, but we did discuss the fact that these would be future upgrades.
Will probably use again for speaker install due to the odd sizes of the speakers and that while I am neither completely satisfied nor dissatisfied, it does come with a lifetime warranty anywhere in the country. Since that means I don't have to fix it if something goes wrong, it is a real bonus.
Remember the 3 out of 5 star rating I gave is still above average and would use again for warranty and ease of finding a BB no matter where you are. A little extra insurance goes a long way.
What's great about it: It saved me 6-8 hours of my time
I would recommend this to a friend!

I did take my car back for and Amp and speaker install, hoping that my first experience was just a fluke. But once again I left the car for 4 hours for a 2 hour install and the whole thing seemed rushed again. About 2 hours into the install I was called and told I needed to bring in a wiring harness from the head unit. Of course I did not have a car at this point, so I asked if we should reschedule. The tech (who shall remain nameless) told me no, that he could get everything in and it would only take 30-45 minutes to finish once he had the part.
I got there about 4:15 and at 6:30 he was finally done. About half of the time was wasted time since he would put everything back together before testing it and something wouldn't work so he would have to tear everything apart again. The door, the head unit, the passenger seat......etc. I watched in dismay as he used a screw driver instead of a panel tool to remove the door panel and the panels in the dash, once again leaving more damage (scratches and notches from the head of the screwdriver. The Amp was only secured to the carpet using sheet metal screws of varying lengths that allowed the amp to move around on unsecured plastic posts that caused a squeak that would have driven a family of mice crazy. Not being able to take the noise, I ended up fixing it by securing the amp to the post with some epoxy putty. 5 minutes and $2's later I had the problem fixed myself.
Then I noticed that instead of routing wiring through a weatherproofed wire protector in the hatch he cut through it a both ends This area is in the water channel on the hatch and since he couldn't take the time to seal it, it was the perfect place for water to run into the car's electrical system and cause a short. This was not the last of it either, the paint in the front door foot-well was scratched by the removal. re-install of the front passenger chair, down to the metal.
Finally having had enough I went down to BB with pictures of everything. They did the best they could at fixing these items, there are items that just really patch repairs. They siliconed the holes in the weatherproofing of the hatch, which fixes the shorting risk, but makes it look completely unprofessional. They did buff out most of the scratches and re-secured areas where the retaining clips were broken. But since they claim the upper side of the foot-well is a wear and tear item (funny, my original car warranty doesn't list that area as a wear and tear item) I would understand the plastic foot-well protector as wear and tear, but not the area up by where the manufacturer starts putting the info stickers. Since they claim it is wear and tear (this is not an old car and was bought new), they are only willing to get some scratch-out and try and fix the scratches that go through both the clear-coat and pigment. This is now a devaluation of the car unless I want to go pay out of pocket to have this area repainted.
I do thank them for fixing the items they could, but they never should have had to fix them in the first place. This whole install went from the ridiculous to the sublime and if warranty work ever needs to be done, I will take it to Phoenix or have it done when I visit family in California.
To their credit the system sounds amazing and works well now that it is fixed. At least I purchased most of the system at (they won't let me tell you), so I don't feel as taken as I could be feeling.
The only thing he sold me on was the Amp which was a great suggestion for the system. I just wish I didn't have to call him back after I got home and read the reviews of the Amp he was going to sell me and found a higher rated, similar spec'ed from Polk, on sale for nearly 100 dollars less. But I take the blame for that since I didn't do my research and it is his job to make money for the store.
He did a great job tuning the amp to the Polk speakers and the Clarion NX501 and like I said, I could be happier with sound of the music, the clarity and the power. So thanks to them for that.
