Stylish and Functional 9/10

There are a ton of different options to choose from when you’re in the market for a gaming mouse. Researching, testing, and finally choosing that perfect mouse can become very time consuming. I used a Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse for quite some time and I loved it. Unfortunately, it eats through batteries and I got tired of occasional wireless connectivity issues. It also made a weird springy noise when releasing the left mouse button that was audible in recordings. I record training videos professionally, so this was an obvious concern.
When I decided to buy a new mouse, my goal was to simply get an updated, corded version of the G602. Enter the G502 Prometheus which was exactly what I was looking for. I tried the mouse at a Best Buy store and BOING. It makes the same exact springy noise that the G602 makes. Be careful what you ask for. The G502 was too similar to the G602. I’m glad the mouse was on display because it was a huge time saver.
I then decided to choose based on style, sale price, available features, and reviews (not in that particular order). I picked the Alienware AW558 and the Corsair Glaive (both had nice discounts, good looks, and similar features). I have several Corsair products already, but I didn't want to buy Corsair based on brand only. After trying them both out, I liked (and kept) the Corsair Glaive because:
• Admirably high sensitivity options (up to 16k DPI)
• DPI on the fly button is easy to use (some caveats below) with 5 customizable DPI settings
• Mouse is very responsive for gaming and very precise for Graphic Design and Photo Editing/Retouching.
• 3 Customizable grips to fit your style. I use the no-frills, flat one. Work the best for me.
• Looks great. The lighting is nice and diffused. There are several areas on the mouse that let the RGB lighting shine through. Other RGB gear can have only one or two small areas for lights which make it seem like an afterthought.
• Buttons are solid and easy to reach (even the thumb buttons). The thumb buttons require just the right amount of pressure to activate and are positioned just above where you rest your thumb. No more potential for misclicks! (thumb button misclicks were occasional with the Logitech G602 and quite common with the Alienware AW558).
• The Glaive doesn’t have a funky, hand-shaped ergonomic design and this is actually fine. The mouse feels comfortable even after hours of use whether for work or play. If you set your sensitivity nice and high, you hardly have to move the mouse to get the pointer to go great distances even on higher resolution displays. Once you settle on the sensitivity that suits you, it’s almost like you’re holding on to air. A light touch is all you need. No more mouse death grip or constant mouse lifts. Note: I use the mouse on a QHD, 2560 x 1440 display.
There has to be a con or two, right?
• Most people complain about the CUE software. It has been improved, but there are still some issues. Saving custom settings is fairly easy—even saving your settings to the mouse’s onboard memory—but difficulties can arise if you have 2 or more Corsair items that use CUE or 2 or more custom presets—or both. According to Corsair forums, only some users have experienced issues managing multiple items/profiles in CUE.
• There are 5 DPI settings and it would be nice if there was an Up and Down button to cycle through DPI. With the current design, you have to cycle through sequentially with a single button (so going from 1 to 5 or 5 to 4 requires 4 clicks). Additionally, the current DPI setting does not stay lit on the mouse. The lights only function as you are cycling. There is no DPI lighting option in CUE for the Glaive. Since the lights are off by default, you can’t check what DPI setting you’re on by looking at the mouse. There is a thread about this in Corsair forums but no solution.
All things considered. This is a great mouse. It solved all the problems I had with my Logitech G602, which was my primary goal, and it has done much more. I thought going back to a corded mouse would be a burden, but it hasn’t been. The benefits far outweigh the smaller issues.

Small, convenient, gets the job done

I like to take care of the stuff that I own. Especially when it costs a lot of money. This lens pen costs a fraction of what I paid for my lens and the best part is: I can use it to protect my investment and keep it in good, clean, working order. I've seen a couple different brands label theirs as "the official lens pen" with the holographic seal on the packaging, so I'm not sure what's going on there. I had a knock-off before I bought this one and the build quality on this lens pen is definitely noticeably better.

Get a little closer to your subject with this Sony 70-300mm lens. Built-in optical stabilization delivers solid results even under low-light conditions, and the dust-resistant design helps prevent speckles from forming on the sensor itself. Narrower apertures from f/4.5-5.6 ensure you get wider depths of field with this Sony 70-300mm lens.

You will take the best photos you've ever taken!

Granted, you need to have the right camera to go with this lens. I use this SEL70300G with a Sony a7II and the photos are better than I could imagine. The Optical SteadyShot (OSS) feature plus the body stabilization in the a7II make for incredibly crisp, detailed shots without the need for a tripod (even when maxed at 300mm). Need to lower your shutter speed for more light? Want to shoot in 100 ISO (or less)? This camera and lens combo can get the job done. I have had several of my photos accepted by stock photography sites which are known for being strict on image detail, exposure, and overall quality. I had been waiting to get the right equipment before becoming a stock contributor and this lens does not disappoint. There's so much more positives to mention including the macro capabilities of the lens. I have great shots of dragonflies where it's just scary how crisp and detailed the eyes, wings, and even their little insect hairs are in the shots. Don't be fooled, this telephoto lens can do up-close shots as well. I've been able to keep it on longer without swapping because of the versatility. The Sony Nano AR coating also works very well. My shots have not suffered any lens flare or chromatic aberration (CA). The lens appears to stack up to the hype on Sony's website.
Now, I'll stop sounding so biased and list some cons:
• Price. I managed to get a coupon that I applied toward this lens. I would not play full retail.
• The manual on-lens switches on the side of the lens slide very easily. You can unintentionally slide out of steadyshot or manual focus and not notice. This normally happens when putting the camera in the bag or taking it out. Not a big deal, just check the switches before shoots and occasionally as you shoot.
• Size & Weight. I'm coming for a Sony a5100 with an SEL55210 so this SEL70300G is HUGE. The shots are amazing so it's worth it.
• It takes a while for the zoom control to loosen up. It will be stiff at first, but will get much smoother after continued use.
• Auto focus can be slow at times. I primarily use manual focus, but there are moments when AF is needed, especially with wildlife that may move unpredictably.
All in all, it's a great lens and I'm more than satisfied with the purchase. It's my main shooter and I thoroughly enjoy going to my favorite nature spots to take beautiful photos. If you need reach, versatility, great detail, and quality, this is a great pick.

Good Sound, OK other stuff

I primarily bought this headset because of the "true multi-channel 7.1 surround sound." These aren't "virtual surround" like other gaming headsets. With that being said, I am satisfied with the sound. If you're looking for super deep bass for your rap songs, this may not be the right choice. I feel it's fine for gaming.
In other reviews I've seen, some users have complained about discomfort after prolonged use. Yes. This is true. I've had more comfortable headsets. Usually, adjusting the headset position, rotating it forward or backward will help.
This is an 16.8 mil RGB headset that lights up with the color of your choice. Personally, I don't find the lights or the Corsair graphics that light up on the ear cups to be at all exciting. Maybe if more of the surface area of the headset had lights or the graphics were better, I would use this feature.
Some users complain about the CUE software not working on Windows 10. It works fine for me and I do use it for the EQ and Dolby settings—and I used it to turn the RGB light feature off.
Overall, I think the headset is great since it's one of the very few with actual "true multi-channel 7.1 surround sound" built in. This was helpful in my decision to purchase. I did confirm with the system sound test and Windows 10 does recognize the headset as 7.1.
If you casually play games that can benefit from surround sound, this is a solid choice.
I use a separate external mic, so I can't give any feedback on the microphone.

Looks, build quality, and functionality are all on point with this add-on. iPad wakes when you lift the folio cover like clockwork. The magnetic cover stays in place firmly, but is not too difficult to lift when you're ready to get to work. iPad fits in snugly and snaps in and out of keyboard mode easily yet securely. Highly recommended if you use your iPad for any kind of serious typing.

5 Ghz is a no go

I only tried one of these so there is a chance that mine was a lemon. In any case, I went through two entry-level AC routers, a D-LINK and this Netgear. Both routers were about $100-130 regular price--not exactly cheap--but discounted at $50-70 respectively. The reduced price was just too good to pass up... but also too good to be true. The Netgear 5 Ghz band was spotty at best, despite the "expansive" WiFi coverage granted by the dual antennas. I would be in the same room with the router and it would drop 5 Ghz regardless of the device, whether laptop, smartphone, or Smart TV. This is after updating firmware and drivers on all devices and after performing a reboot and power cycling the router after the 5 Ghz band would disappear. It would come back sometimes upon restart. Sometimes. Transfer speeds were accurate on 2.4 Ghz, but 5 Ghz would show 20-50% loss in data speed (when the band was actually working) particularly if the connected device was in the adjacent room, literally next door. I live in a small 1 bed 1 bath and this router could not cover both the living room and bedroom. We're talking about having issues after entering a room less than 15 feet away from the router with one wall in-between. The equally inexpensive D-Link performed the same way but didn't have the fancy "expansive" range antenna. Long story short, I opted for a more expensive Netgear AC1700 with THREE (whoa!) antenna and of course a heftier price tag. I gave this particular AC1200 one star, but does that mean Netgear is bad? No. I do trust Netgear and have had 4 Netgear modem/router devices. This AC1200 is the first bad one I've had. Additionally, the AC1700 with the THREE (whoa!) antenna does get the job done. I've had no issues with 5 Ghz. It goes strong all day long and has not dropped on my Smart TV and steams Netflix without an issue. They say you get what you pay for. Sometimes the cheaper alternatives are more trouble than their worth.

Great Price! So Far So Good

I bought thus during a sale at an excellent price for 1TB of USB 3.0 storage in a slim form factor. The device performs well despite negative reviews found on Amazon and Toshiba's website. I've had it for about 1 month and it hasn't died. It stays plugged in to my desktop and always powers on and shows up in my drive list in the file explorer. Transfer speeds were more than adequate with the included USB 3.0 cable. It draws power from the cable which is a huge plus. My much larger 2TB backup drive needed a bulky AC adapter. So long power cable hassle! Can I vouch for long-term? No. But it appears to be solid. Drive does include 143MB of pre-installed software, driver files, and PDF manuals. Total available space shows as 931GB. Long story short, 4 stars for the past incident-free 4 weeks of ownership.

Definite Pros: Laser gets the job done for presentations and the stylus glides real smooth and is responsive. Nice barrel looks, weight, and silver finish.
Cons: Though the barrel is sleek and stylish, it does not firmly stay in place after being twisted to retract the pen tip. This can be an issue since the laser only works when the pen tip is retracted. The lower barrel is a bit sensitive and can twist with very little effort. It can slip out of laser mode easily and then need to be adjusted by the user. Other than that, it's great.
