I bought this external drive to the used as a secondary back up for all of the locations that I store data - an archive network drive, a USB media drive, Dropbox, and onedrive. My Time Capsule doesn’t get my archive network drive. This drive works perfectly for this purpose. I use ChronoSync to backup to this drive.

In one compact unit, this device provides slots for my USB-3 thumb drive, external backup hard drive, an SDHC slot, a micro SD slot, and an HDMI slot. It also comes with a carrying case for use when not needed. Fits my needs without having to resort to multiple adapters.

Excellent for off site backups

Bought this device to provide off site storage for my computer. Works very well for this purpose. Weekly, I clone my computer hard drive using a commercial software program I purchased intended for backup cloning, then store this external Passport drive in another location for security. As this passport gets it’s power through USB cable, there is no need for separate power source.
