Another Great Marvel Movie!

The Iron Man series has been one of the staples of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and even though I'd say the first Iron Man is still my favorite, Iron Man 3 does not take anything away from the series. A Must-Have 3D Movie For Your Collection

The Limited Edition Blu-ray package gives you a 3D, 2D blu-ray and a DVD copy of the movie. A digital copy would've been nice, but it's the 3D blu-ray you really want. I'm not a huge fan of watching everything in 3D, but this movie is great way to test out your TV's capabilities. The picture has amazing detail, vibrant colors and most of the scenes offer a fantastic 3D experience at home.

The X-Files Looks Amazing on Blu-ray

The X-Files was one of my favorite TV shows growing up, and to see these episodes again in beautiful 1080p is a real treat. I'll get the one negative out of the way.... the font. For some reason when putting together these seasons, they could not find the original font used for the intro or within the episode. Not a big deal, but seems a bit off. The picture quality on the other hand, is really impressive. They did a fantastic job on cleaning up the image and prepping it for widescreen. The 5.1 DTS HD mix is also a great addition. If you're a fan of The X-Files, these blu-ray releases are definitely worth checking out.

Disney Does it Right on Blu-Ray

Regardless of if you like "The Little Mermaid " movie or not, I have to say I'm always amazed at the quality of the Disney animated Blu-ray releases. The picture quality is vivid and bright, and what seems to be a standard with all Disney "Diamond Edition" discs, the audio is mixed in 7.1 DTS HD! That's pretty impressive. There are tons of extras on the disc as well.

I like Nice Cables What Can I Say?

I know there's the never ending debate about high priced cables (especially HDMI cables) vs. low priced cables. The fact is, they're all just sending 1's and 0's back and forth, so no, this is not going to make the picture sharper or make the audio more dynamic. What you're paying for with AudioQuest is, an extremely well built HDMI cable that is rugged, well insulated and will last you a very long time. If you have high end components in your home theater, it's natural to also want high end cables connecting everything. If you're running cables behind a wall, or in a space not easily accessible after setting up, a well built cable is something to consider. Some lower priced cables in my experience have a tendency to just stop working after awhile. If you personally don't see the need for high priced cables... don't buy them.

I didn't think I'd like watching 3D, but ...

It took about a month after buying my new TV before these finally came back in stock to try out, but it was well worth the wait. Sony has done a really nice job with their new UHD 3D sets. The clarity and depth of the picture has given me a new perspective on 3D movies at home. The glasses themselves are pretty comfortable, easy to sync and so far have worked great. I wouldn't necessarily recommend wearing them on top of your every day glasses. It will work, but just not ideal for comfort. Just make sure when you first sync these to your TV, to have 3D content playing before you push the sync button. The directions that came with my glasses left that key detail out.
