These are great drives to store our work backups, as well as our movie and photo backups, and take them anywhere we need to. We have been very pleased with the performance to this point and have now purchased three 4 TB ones. Over the years, we have had two of our Seagate portables go bad, but when we tried other brands, they always went bad eventually. So the Seagates have been the most reliable for us.

Definitely improved our Internet and good price

Our Internet would cut out on one side of our house quite often. We especially had problems with our Apple TV losing connection for our TV on that side of the house. Since putting this in our house, it has extended the range quite well and has rarely lost connection. Still has lost connection a couple times, so giving it four stars instead of five. But definitely a great improvement for the price of the product.

We have owned many Seagate drives over the years. The only reason we have had to get new drives is because we needed more storage space. None of the desktop Seagate drives we have owned (probably at least 10 or more) have ever failed for us. I am looking to put movies on it. I know it can store and play them, but would they lag or be slower or more choppy than if they were stored directly on my laptop?
We use one of these to hold our entire iTunes library for our family, as we use Apple TVs rather than cable or other streaming methods, and we have had no problems with lag time. Just be sure you have a good quality wireless router. We use the high-end Apple router in our home.

Yes, when it is less expensive online at BestBuy.com, at Amazon.com (when shipped and sold by Amazon), and several other online vendors, the brick-and-motar Best Buy stores will match the price for you. I always look for the best deal before I buy, and they have price matched for me every time.
