Bought this to protect a Nikkor 24/120mm lens. It fits properly, has good optical clarity and helps with haze, all for a good price. Recommend!

Fast five-axis image stabilization and rapid autofocus combine in the Sony CX675 Handycam to create stunning video all day long. Capture wide-angle views to show all the action, or zoom in up to 30 times to focus on a small aspect. You can even use the in-camera effects to create something special with the Sony CX675 Handycam.

I bought this camera to film a wedding. My last camera was a Sony using digital tape, about a decade old. I'm partial to the brand. The indoor video was fuzzy (afternoon wedding in modern church with large windows). Outdoor sharp and colorful. The image stabilization was quite good. The touchscreen is poor. In fact, the upper left corner icon, which returns you to previous menu items works about 20% of the time, requiring distracting repeat pushes using bigger or smaller fingerprints with varying pressure before it works. I returned the camera to Best Buy and the salesman checked two other cameras-- same result. There seems to be something about that corner of the screen which is poorly touch sensitive-- and there is no backup hard button to push. I was hoping for much more from Sony after ten years. I kept the camera because the flash drive storage is finally an improvement over digital tape with respect to file compression and because for the price point, I don't think there is a significantly better camera out there. With the rapid evolution of quality of smart phone video, it seemed the only advantage I had over some of the iPhone footage I watched of the same event was better storage, zoom and mechanical image stabilizing.

Improve the quality of your photos and safeguard your lens with this Platinum PT-MCUVF95 UV lens filter that protects against scratches and reduces UV-induced atmospheric haze. The German-made Schott optical glass ensures clarity and accurate colors.

will this filter a Tamron 150 - 600 millimeter lens ?

Louie, don't let the focal length of the zoom confuse you with the diameter of the lens. The diameter of the filter must be the same as the diameter of the lens, which is usually stamped on the ring around the front glass, or else included in the specs of the lens.

I noticed a hot foot on top of the camera... is it powered and beyond a light source for the camera is there a condenser mic available and a compatible port on the camera to plug it in to?

Sony makes a gunzoom mike (ECM-GZ1M) that attaches to the hot shoe. It's both powered by the shoe and carries the sound connection-- no cable required.

When you import your video files to a PC do you need to use software or can you burn the video file directly onto a DVD for viewing anywhere?

It's quite simple to transfer the video files to your computer hard drive using a USB cable. You can then edit the files using video editing software and use your computer to create a DVD to play in a DVD player. There is an HDMI cable so you can watch the video footage by directly connecting the camera to a TV.

How does this camera perform in low light conditions such as a theater performance?

I found the indoor video quality to be noisy, and that was in a church with big windows on a sunny afternoon.

Is this camera MAC compatible? Does it include a battery? Is there internal memory or only a place for a flash card? If yes to internal memory, what is the storage size? Thank you!

It's easy to transfer the video files from the flash storage to a Mac with simply a USB cable. Battery is, of course, included and battery life is excellent. The internal flash storage is 32 GB and you can insert an SD card for more memory. I bought a 64 GB SD card for 40 bucks and when set to regular video quality, will be able to record hours and hours of video.
