I just bought this today after my beloved Cuisinart 6-bottle quit on me. I have a dinner party tomorrow night and was in a rush--it was the only small countertop chiller I could find that I didn't have to order and ship.
Compared to the Cuisinart, it looks cheap--most of the construction is plastic made to look like stainless steel. The square corners don't quite line up, and the screws are very visible and drilled at slightly varied angles. As another reviewer mentioned, it is rather light and slides around on a smooth granite surface when I try to open the door, which has a strong magnet on it. I'll have to find some sticky rubber bumpers to put on the legs.
My biggest complaint is that it doesn't hold my taller Riesling bottles or wider champagne bottles unless I remove one of the racks (reducing the capacity to four bottles) and put the taller ones in sideways. No champagne for dinner tomorrow! I'm very disappointed but not surprised since I didn't do my research.
One plus is that it's very quiet--I can't barely hear it. The interior LED light is a nice plus--not too bright. It's chilled the bottles I have in there quickly.
What's great about it: Quiet
What's not so great: Capacity, cheap construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quit working after a little more than a year
August 3, 2012
I'm online late tonight because I'm trying to find a replacement wine chiller for the Frigidaire that just broke after just a little after a year. Was reading reviews and thought "gee, this sounds so familiar". The realized it's because I wrote it! Wouldn't you know I'm hosting another dinner party tomorrow night and two days ago the Frigidaire started buzzing terribly. Actually, I don't think the cooling operation failed, but it's so loud I couldn't have a pleasant conversation with guests. Over the last year, it did a decent job even though the looks were inferior to other models like the Cuisinart. It never got my white wine down to 46 degrees, though--always hovered around 52-54 regardless of temp setting. I've aided it by putting frozen gel cooler blocks in there. So I echo again what I said in April of 2011--you get what you pay for. Now to decide if I run out to BB and pay another $100 to have a working cooler for tomorrow night or hold off and pay a little more to have a higher quality model shipped.
