Does not play well with HDR

I have two ROKU 4K boxes...which have had their issues...so I was excited to get my new Fire TV with 4K/HDR capability. well....I will be taking this box back. As you know, there is really no tech support for Amazon products other than their help page which really is just hints and tips.. no forum, no tech support phone number. SO..here is what I experienced...I have two 4K/HDR TV's.. one Samsung and a brand new Sony. On the Samsung, the HDR brightness was turned on 100% of the time, no matter what content I was playing...Amazon Video, Netflix etc. as a result, the picture on NON-HDR content looked washed out and over-bright. On the Sony, the HDR brightness was off when watching the intro or menu screen. BUT..when I actually watched a 4K or 4K/HDR movie on either Amazon or Netflix...the picture would look great fo about 2 seconds, the HDR brightness would turn off and the picture would be very dim.
THE HDR brightness signal going to the TV comes from the video source... both my ROKU Ultimate and ROKU 4 have no issues telling the TV's when to turn the brightness up or down. SO...I am staying with ROKU for now... By the way..the Fire TV integrated well with Alexa and I could control the Amazon programming with just voice, but had to use a combination of voice and remote when viewing Netflix. So, if you have a NON-HDR TV...the Fire TV probably works fine and is a good buy for $70

Nice tracker, but has shortcomings

I have a Samsung Gear Fit 2 that does a good job, but it looked like Fitbit had better software... I was correct, the Fitbit software does a better job at tracking sleep patterns (uses movement + heartrate) and you get lots of encouragement from Fitbit when you make milestones... BUT there is one serious flaw that has been a complaint of the Fitbit community since the Charge 2 came out last year.... YOU CANNOT ADJUST THE OLED DISPLAY.... you can't turn it off, dim it, brighten it... nothing. So... you are stuck with a display that is too dim for outside and too bright in a darkened room... At night, it lights up the entire bedroom... a light sleeper would be awakened by the light... outside in the sun, the display is too dim to read.....My Samsung has an OLED display and has adjustable brightness from very dim to readable in sunlight... I returned the FITBIT and will continue to use the Samsung.
Maybe Samsung will upgrade their software, or FITBIT will come out with a band type tracker that has adjustable brightness.

I upgraded from my old Note 5. What an upgrade...slim..sleek...Gorilla Glass 5... read the reviews on how hard this phone is to break... always on display.... battery life is almost as good as the much larger Note 5. The only thing I noticed is that the range of the Bluetooth is somewhat less than the Note 5.

This is a great product and the display is a typical Samsung product.... I used it on a cross country road trip. I needed great detail and brightness to view google maps ...worked without an issue.
