The CWM663 offers the kind of in-wall performance ordinarily reserved for high quality bookshelf speakers. Featuring a 6" woven Aramid Fiber midbass driver and Aluminum Dome Tweeter, you’ll experience clear, balanced sound with great driving bass. The tweeter features Nautilus Tube-loaded technology for clearer performance, an equalization switch allows fine tuning of the sound and the whole speaker chassis is fabricated from cast aluminum for maximum rigidity, offering superior performance to the plastic baskets found in mass-market designs. The Quick Dog mounting system makes installation a breeze and easy on your arms. The grill and speaker can be painted to match the surrounding surface and a paint guard is included. Looking for better performance? The CWM7.4S2 offers better driver technology and the performance of a small floor-standing speaker in your wall. Bowers & Wilkins CI600 Series of in-ceiling and in-wall speakers improves on our CI300 range by combining next-level performance with innovative features that make them a breeze to install and fine-tune for personalized sound. Looking for a step-up in performance? The CI700 Series offers improved parts quality and manufacturing techniques for improved performance.

Amazing speakers for discrete great sound.

I had been blowing B&W M1's (see review) and needed to go another way. My wife would not let me put tower speakers in the room so I was having getting loud enough wall mountable speakers that would handle the volume I was trying to get like what I was used to from a tower speaker. I am running four of these for both fronts and rears. I am amazed at how loud and clear these speakers are. They are paintable to match the wall, although I think that would be a pain. They include a mask for painting but I didn't try it. The install is extremely easy with the included cut out template and the mount needs no drilling or screwing. The "quick dogs" squeeze the sheet rock and hold very secure. Overall an incredible speaker with amazing quality sound. I have been running them for a month now and could not be happier.
What's great about it: Easy install, quality mount and build, discrete and great looking with amazing sound and loudness.
What's not so great: Absolutely nothing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great center channel speaker.

I have this as my center channel speaker paired with four B&W CWM663's, run by a Denon 1912Ci receiver and a Boston 10" sub in my living room. I had been running five B&W M1's with the same sub and receiver. The center always seemed drowned out buy the rest of the system. I found myself always turning it up to hear the spoken words in a movie, then scrambling to turn it down when the action hit. See my review on the M1's for more details, but the short version is I was blowing them and needed to go a different direction. I am very happy with this center even though it's a little on the large side. Because of the size, it is harder to place in my living room but that may not be as much of a problem for others. I changed nothing in the receiver setup and the spoken word now stands out from the rest. It is a great looking speaker although a little on the spendy side but you get what you pay for.
What's great about it: Looks great, easy setup, great sound, loud.
What's not so great: A little on the large side but worth it.

Good looking and sounding when they hold up.

I bought $225 each speakers expecting that they would hold up. I was wrong. I have blown 3 of the five I purchased. They were last years model so hopefully these are better. I got the geek squad protection so two of them were repaired with a 5 week turn around time. One of them was junked out, because they scratched it, and the store replaced it with one of this years model. Let me tell you the wall mount on these is horrible. Last years model was great. Very easy to put up, and you could remove the speaker from the mount with the black cover on and a single set screw. The new model is designed for the mount to go directly over the hole in the wall where the wire comes out. If you have a socket with plugs on it that you then run a short wire from there to the speaker these will not work, as there is no access into the cover for the wire. Hopefully I will not have to get any others replaced because I really do not want this model and the horrendous mounting change. Sound quality is great. when they are not blown, they sound amazing. They just don't seem to handle quite the volume of music I was intending.
What's great about it: appearance, sound
What's not so great: does not handle what it should for the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
