Not enough oomph!!

The Hoover - FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum - Black/Purple is a decent entry level vacuum. The vacuum has nice features: such as the ONE PWR Lithium Battery, which offers consistent power and fast charging, versatility to clean every part of the house, and portability - light enough to lift up high. The vacuum works great on floors, runners, etc. Not so great on carpeting! I don't have pets, however when using on carpet general fibers/hairs clog up the vacuum. This proved to be a nuisance. The vacuum also lost suction repeatedly. Not all bad tho, you can get low and you can clean the stairs easily. The vacuum does not stand freely but there is a supplied wall mount. Included in the box are the following:

I always thought home security would be outrageously expensive! Thanks to things like WIFI, Cellular, and networks we can now monitor our precious personal possessions from anywhere. The Simplisafe Defend Home Security solution is revolutionary because you get a DIY professional grade security system with home monitoring at a fraction of the cost. There are no binding contracts, no monthly equipment fees, and installation takes just a few minutes. Monitoring services run as high as $60/month, where as Simplisafe is around $25/month. I setup the system within 15 minutes. While the sensors have strong double-sided tape, use screws to prevent a sensor from falling. Instructions are a little lacking, however Simplisafe Tech Support is super friendly and responsive. There are neat features, such as the ability to leave windows open and alerts when you leave a door open. I did have an issue with a sensor, however a quick firmware upgrade took care of the issue. Overall this is an inexpensive and easy to use home security solution.

Connection issues ruin the experience!

The Jaybird Run True Wireless Sport Headphones are interesting. They are comfortable and stay in pace. I used these while working on an elliptical. A little bit of sweat did not phase them. However, the major drawback is the connection issues. Bluetooth headphones are never perfect...they do cut out here and there. Even in a bluetooth equipped vehicle, you will see this happen from time to time. This is commonly caused by interference. With all of that in mind, I have used several different kinds of BT headsets. From sport versions to higher end fluffy headphones. None have had issues to the point where it ruined the experience. You expect fluid sound from headphones. Unfortunately, the Jaybird Run's are plagued by connection issues. Both earpieces rely on bluetooth and near field communication (NFC). The slightest of interference causes them to cut out. One earpiece does a decent job of staying connected but cannot communicate with the other earpiece. There is potential if Jaybird made improvement. They are also not as loud as other BT headsets that I have tried. Sound is dependent on the seal within your ear. If the seal is not good, do not expect quality sound.

Sony makes a comeback!

Leave it to Sony to make a comeback in personal audio. The WH-1000Xm2 are incredible headphones. Sound wise they are ON PAR with other highly rated cans, audio technica, Bose, etc. The bass is just right, I can hear the quality of Prince's guitar. Overall great sound quality. They connect using bluetooth seamlessly and feature ANC (Active Noise Canceling), which seals out ambient noise. I tried this in a fairly noisy environment. The headphone adapt to your listening conditions. These are truly "smart" headphones with various of the features to customize sound. Battery life is astounding, 30 hours! The only drawback that I have read about is that the Sony headband is prone to cracking. While this does not affect listening, it is a concern for upscale headphones. In the box you get the headphones, carry case, airplane adapter plug, and audio wire cable for us old school folks. Now I cannot decide between these and the Bose!!

We own a Cuisinart blender, which my spouse likes. The Cuisinart is an all metal design, so it is rugged and built to last. The Ninja Chef - 72-Oz. Blender is a nice machine. It blends things into a nice and smooth mixture. We also have a Nutribullet which we absolutely love!! However, every blender/juicer leaves chunks.The Ninja Chef - 72-Oz. Blender literally pulverizes them! The base on the blender features suction to make it stick and remain stable. The buttons on the base are soft touch and responsive. The pitcher is large with a solid handle and features a locking lid. No more having the lid fly off. The one thing we did not like is that the Ninja Chef - 72-Oz. Blender is loud!!! Forget using it early in the morning, you will wake the neighbors. The blades are very sharp, wash with caution. Shark products have proven to be somewhat unreliable (in our experience). Build quality remains to be seen.

Requires too much effort!

I switch between a Norelco electric shaver and a traditional razor (Harry's). The electric razor requires extra effort but there is no skin irritation. I can use it with or without shaving cream. The traditional razor works well with no skin irritation. The Philips Norelco (Norelco) is supposed to be the best of both worlds. Designed to be an "ALL-in-ONE" solution. You can trim, edge, and shave. Unfortunately, it falters on all three. To start with the OneBlade Pro is not rugged! For shaving it required too much back and forth. The blade was too close to the skin causing redness. The beard trimmer is basically one "comb". For men with heavy beards, this will not work as well. Its not all bad tho, as an edger it works better. The OneBlade has some decent features, such as Li-Ion rechargeable battery, can be used wet or dry, and a LED display that shows status of battery life. Overall the "OneBlade Pro" is touted as being gentle on the skin and tough on hair. It is not gentle like the traditional Norelco shavers.

The Audio Pro - Addon T3 is a nice speaker. I had not heard of Audio Pro, however a search found that the company is Swedish. That is awesome! The speaker is handsomely designed and looks pleasing in a living room, family room, bedroom or just about anywhere. In fact I love the classic design with leather carrying handle on top. Sound wise its doable, has pleasant bass (not overly heavy), highs and lows. The sound is clear! This is a no frills speaker, no fancy connections on the back. There is a 3.5mm AUX port and USB charging port on the back. The one thing I would like is the ability to pair with other Addon T3 speakers. These days most better quality speakers in this price range have that capability. Otherwise its a portable speaker with estimated 30 hours of battery life. Cannot go wrong here!!

I have owned the Dell Inspiron i7 2in1 and the HP Envy i7 2in1 machines. Both were decent sub $1000 laptops but had some things that I did not like. I use Lenovo products at work, the trusty Thinkpad is a work horse. However, for home use I have not honestly considered Lenovo. Color me surprised with the Lenovo Yoga 920 2in1. The display alone features vivid Ultra HD 4k capability. The color rendition is excellent and you don't see lines through the graphics. I compared the display against a Macbook Pro Retina and Lenovo is just as good. The laptop also has the current i7 8th generation processor, 8gb, and 256gb ssd. Lenovo and other manufacturers should just offer 16gb and above RAM and 512 or higher SSD storage. The Lenovo feels solid and the way the display tilts over to a tablet is slick. The screen has an Iconic 360-degree watchband hinge. This is a better design IMHO than I saw on the Dell and HP. Great for tent mode, tablet mode, and regular laptop use. The Lenovo has just enough ports:

The graphics card is an integrated Intel adapter with HD capability. While researching other machines. I found that Intel's latest graphics offerings are better than the discrete graphics offerings from AMD/ATI and Nvidia. For sound the laptop has JBL speakers and Dolby Atmos. That is premium for a laptop under $1300. Sound is crisp and loud enough.
Overall the machine has typical features:
Strong WIFI
Windows 10 is nicely integrated with Cortana and other voice integration.
Thinner than previous versions
Long battery life
720HD webcam integrated

In an "iEverything" world, the Sandisk iXpand 64gb Base stands out as different. This is an amazing solution! Yes there is the iCloud and other online solutions but having local backup is always good. You get charging and back up all in one! First of all you have to download the Sandisk iXpand App from the App Store. Configuration of the app is a breeze and self explanatory. After that you plug your iPhone into the base using your lightning cable. Place phone the rubberized base and the backup process starts. The base is NOT wireless, which seems to perplex people. Also the base does NOT come with a lightning cable. The base features rapid charging, using 15 watts of power and plugs into the wall using a supplied AC adapter.
The first backup may take some time, that is normal. Following backups should be faster. 64gb may not seem like a lot of space but its more than you get with the free iCloud. I do wish Sandisk would tell you if the backup overwrites previous backups or what. After charging your phone, the lightning cable can be stored inside the rear of the base. The other neat feature is that you can transfer your images to a SD-Card. The base has a SD-Card slot!! You can restore your phone quickly using the APP. All in all the iXpand base is a convenient solution for our busy tech lives!

We are not fans of the stick vac, simply because they work for a while and lose suction. The BISSELL - MultiReach Bagless Cordless Stick is a little different from the rest of the stick vacuums. It is ultra-light, has bright LED lights, and best of all converts to a hand vac. The hand vac is great for cars. I love how this particular works, suction is nice and strong in both full stick and hand vac only. Let's see if the stick vac lasts.

I'm going to Bonnaroo this summer and you are allowed to bring in a camera with detachable lenses as long as its shorter than 2 inches. So, is this lens shorter than two inches and would it be a good lens for photographing people and the bands?
