I bought this monitor originally because I play Overwatch and as Reinhardt. I noticed how easy it was for smaller lighter classes to get around me and deal damage or run away. This was because i had a limited field of view. I bought this ultra wide monitor and was quite pleased. I am able to see alot more of my peripheral. Great addition to my gaming rig.
It does however have alot of backlight bleed. It isnt the best looking monitor but its a great and fairly fast performer. Worth the $249 sale price I am however eyeing a higher end model so that I can get that image quality that i want. Contrast is king IMO.

An outstanding GPU. Dollar for dollar the best bang for the buck. Keep in mind that at this time. Only the GTX 1070 and 1080 can be used in SLI. No more entry or mid-range SLI builds. Buy this card, unless you have Terry Crews money ;)

I have always wanted a Marantz receiver and a power surge made it happen. I lost three pieces of gear to a power surge including my old Onkyo dts-777. Now the Marantz is pricey but it is well worth it. I love it. It makes every track sound that much better. The class A/B amplifier is excellent, although innefecient. If you are looking for an excellent receiver and lean more towards stereo music than home theater, I highly recommend the Marantz line of receivers.

Many monitors need extensive adjustment out of the box; does this require adjustments or is it ready to go? I bought an LG 27" (that I love) two years ago it required no adjustments at all, the color, contrast etc. was perfect out of the box.
Yes this monitor requires some setup. Not great out of the box but has alot of potential if you are willing to spend 20 minutes on it.

Can I Use an Older Surround Sound System to New HDTV
I just got 40" Plasma by Samsung and I have an older (4yrs) Yamaha receiver with 5 JBL speakers and Subwoofer. I'm not sure how I should hook it up to the t.v.. I have PS3 and a Blue Ray using HDMI cables. Is there a way to do this without loosing the HDMI quality in the video?
Your receiver should be the heart of your home theater setup. HDMI monitor out on your receiver should be ideally the only HDMI plugged into your tv. Everything else should be connected to the reciever. HDMI is currently the best way to maximise the potential of your gear (i am watching display port closely though). If your reciever and tv have an HDMI/ARC port, even better. An HDMI Plugged into the audio return channel enables the cable to send data in both directions. Hope that helps.
