6 months later CCU is still buggy

The CCU was introduced in October 2016 and similar to other 4K streaming devices like Roku, was rushed to market for the holiday season while still not ready for prime time. Incompatibility with 4K receivers and other pass-through hardware, as well as HDMI hand-shaking issues with 4K TVs was reported for multiple brands.
Google released several software updates, but as of March 2017, the CCU still loses signal when connected directly to a 4K HDMI port on my Hisense 4K TV when I go to another input and then come back to the CCU. The only solution is to reboot the CCU from the Google Home app, which is very frustrating.
CCU forum Google representative suggested signing the CCU up for the preview program, but no new software updates have been pushed and the "no signal" bug persists.

This black glass and steel TV stand is a great choice if you are looking for a modern contemporary piece to compliment your 21st century flat screen TV.
It is very sturdy and looks fantastic. The shelves below the TV have enough space to fit up to 4 other electronic gadgets including tall receivers and game consoles. The open sides and back provide air to cool hot amplifiers and the build in cable management is a nice addition.

Best 4K TV with HDR for the money at this time

At $499, this Hisense 55H8C is the cheapest 4K TV with HDR (HDR 10) at this time (on HDMI ports 3 and 4 and via USB).
The TV does not produce enough backlight for true HDR according to the HDR 10 spec, but the TVs having the recommended 1000 nits of light will cost a lot more.
After calibration (rtings.com settings) and adjusting the backlight and color temp, streamed 4K HDR content (Netflix and YouTube via Chromecast Ultra and Amazon Video via Roku Premiere+) looks fantastic. The TV has a great VA panel and produces excellent blacks when viewed not at an angle. If you have wide seating and will be viewing at more than 20 degrees angle, you might want to look for a different TV with an IPS panel, as the picture on this one will look washed out.
Taking a star off due to the 4K apps on the TV not having HDR yet (waiting for a firmware update from Hisense to add this) and also because the first TV I got at Best Buy frequently had issues when controlled by the remote.
Exchanged with the same model (great no hassle exchange at Best Buy) and the second TV works as expected.
This is an excellent choice if you want to experience 4K HDR now without spending thousands until the industry gets the 4K / HDR bugs sorted out and the OLED TVs become more affordable. The 4 year warranty from Hisense is also a nice bonus.

Does anyone know what the motion rate is on the television? Believe motion rate is different then Refresh rate.
This TV has a 8-bit 60 Hz VA panel which will simulate 10-bit 120 Hz via software. There are 4 levels of motion rate in the settings. Increasing the motion rate adjustment will add "soap opera" effect. Turning off the motion rate adjustment will give the best picture and will not add significant motion blur on fast moving objects.
