Make learning to write fun with this Boogie Board Jot e-writer. The ClearView LCD display lets kids trace letters, numbers and pictures easily, and the protective cover prevents scratches. This Boogie Board Jot e-writer includes 20 flash cards with helpful writing directions, and the included fine-tip stylus writes with precision.

pretty cool, but not great for detailed tracing

If you've never used one of these, it's like a "drawing board" that can be erased by pushing a button. I don't know how it works, but the stylus, your fingernail, or almost any dense, narrow object can "draw" an image on the screen (it looks light green when you write) and when you push the button, the screen flashes for half a second and the screen returns to black.
This particular product comes with a clear back, so you can see through it, and trace whatever you place under it. I tried tracing cartoon characters and other things on paper, but it didn't turn out that well because of the thickness of the item. However, for tracing the letters from the flash cards that come with the e-writer, it's fine, since the tracing doesn't need to be as precise.
There's a stylus and cover that both attach to the e-writer, but they're a bit awkward to click on and off. The cover can be used so that the drawn image is not accidentally erased and it can be clicked onto the back to keep the flash card (or whatever can be slipped into that space) from moving around.
I like the e-writer because it saves paper from being wasted when doing quick computations or sketches. It has a battery that will eventually run out, but I'm guessing it will last a long time because I don't see any screws to change the battery.
The kids like to play with the Boogie Board, but they use it for free drawing more than tracing.

Cool for kids and for temporary notes

I had never heard of these things, but my niece had one and the little ones at home were attracted to it, so I decided to get one to have around the house.
It's kind of like a temporary "drawing board." You can use the included stylus or your finger nail, or almost any object to draw on the screen (the "print" is a light green color). There's something about the product that makes you want to draw. I have it next to my computer and use it mostly for quick computations and sketches. I've written reminders on it, but I stopped doing that because when the kids would see it, they'd immediately erase it so they could draw.
When you press the button, the screen flashes for a half-second and the screen returns to black. There's a cover that can be placed on the front of the e-writer to prevent accidentally erasing the image, and it also clicks onto the back. The stylus attaches to the e-writer, but it's a bit awkward to snap on.
Apparently, there's a battery in the e-writer, but I don't see any screws that allow it to be changed. I've had the e-writer for four months and it's still going strong.

I was looking to replace my 10+ year old PC, so I figured anything would do, but when I first purchased a computer with an i3 processor and 8 GB of RAM, I found that it was a little slow to respond--not what I expected from a new computer. Thanks to Best Buy's return policy and associates, I am now very pleased with this i5, 12GB Envy. It powers on quickly and I can get a browser open in what feels like under 10 seconds and it powers off in under 10 seconds too.
The tower is on the heavy side and measures about 6.5" x 16" x 16." The "roof" of the tower appears to be sloped diagonally about half an inch, but a pencil will not roll on it's own, so it must be an optical illusion (I'm guessing the back of the tower is a half inch shorter than the front).
I was a bit disappointed that speakers and a monitor weren't' included (at the time) with my purchase, but I still felt that I got a good deal and I ended up using my old speakers (I had to purchase a monitor with HDMI though). I was also disappointed with the lightweight mouse and small keyboard (not what I'm used to), but I just hooked up my old peripherals. What would make this Envy 750-414 a lot better for me would be a horizontal and more sturdy feeling DVD drive. The drive seems delicate, like that of a laptop, and gravity sometimes makes it challenging to handle the discs. It's possible that these drives are the norm, though, because it's all that I saw at the store. Something that annoys me about the computer is the HP Support Assistant--I don't know whether the updates it suggests are the same or different from the Windows updates and I've read conflicting information online regarding whether these updates are necessary. I wish the updates were in one place so that it was more clear.
I did some research on computers for the first time in MANY years and made up a checklist that included SATA drive, SSD drive, i5 processor or better, more than 8GB RAM, at least DVD-R drive, HDMI out, DDR4 memory, Energy Star certified, and Hyperthreading. I couldn't find a computer with Hyperthreading in my budget (I'm not even sure what it is anymore!), but this computer had everything else on my list (I am disappointed that I don't see an Energy Star logo anywhere on my computer, however). My transition to Windows 10 from Windows 7 was fairly easy. MY BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT WITH WINDOWS 10 and this computer is that my old HP scanner is not compatible, so I need to invest in a new one (not one of these: "HP Scanjet - Scanners not supported in Windows 10," support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04635838 ).
But beside that, the overall performance of the computer makes me feel like I got my money's worth and like I got a quality product that fits my basic needs and then some.

Stream video or work on projects with the bold brilliance of this HP LED HD monitor, featuring a wide 25-inch screen for easy viewing. The 7ms response time eliminates ghosting, letting you stay in the action of your favorite PC games. Two HDMI ports on this HP LED HD monitor allow for multiple device connections.

No problems so far (calbes included)

I'm not very hard to please when it comes to monitors. I had a 17" monitor before this that I bought over 10 years ago, so I'm not looking for anything fancy and I don't have anything to complain about with this one...but I can try...if I were to improve it, I'd make the power button larger than the other buttons so that it was more obvious.
When I bought the monitor, I didn't know it had a VGA port, so it's nice to know that I can use it with my" old computers" if I need to. The salesperson tried to sell me an HDMI cable--I'm guessing the box doesn't mention that it's included--but thankfully, I gambled that it would be included in the box and it was. I like that the "Low Blue Light Mode" is available for this model (had to select QV on the monitor menu) and even though the switch was dramatic when I selected it, I got used to it and it seems normal.
Including the frame, the screen is 26.25" diagonally. The length of the screen (including frame) is about 22.75" and it's about 13.5" tall. Including the stand, the monitor it's a little under 17" tall (so depending on how you have the screen tilted, there's an area of about 3.5" high under the monitor) with an open space on the table of about 7"x5" created by the rectangular part of the stand directly under the monitor.
