Exceptional Value

I needed a basic computer with a decent processor and enough RAM to do the occasional heavy lifting task (some Photoshop, and mostly Office otherwise) when not at home. I had been using an 11.6" i3 Samsung for a few years, which was super light, but I found the screen too small, so I decided to go for this one to replace it.
The screen size of this one is perfect for me now, and I can easily see everything without having to squint.
Other pros: Touch screen is a great feature when you are using Win 8.1. I installed Classic Shell so I don't have to use the Metro interface, but navigating around this OS is still much easier with the touchscreen.
Built in DVD drive is very handy. The screen is easy on the eyes, also, not super glaringly bright, and the colors, with a little adjustment, are very natural.
To be honest with you, this was about the best value in a computer with a decent processor/ good amount of RAM/ and good sized HDD that there was out there when I was looking. There just was nothing else with all of these features at $349, which was the sale price when I got it. It's also not super heavy #about 5lbs#, which is kind of impressive for a large laptop with an included DVD drive.
Overall, I think this is just an exceptionally good value for a good basic laptop. Gamers would probably need to look elsewhere, but for anyone else just doing average work, it's really a great buy.

Capture detailed images with this Sony camera. Its fits in the palm of your hand, making it easily portable in camera bags or backpacks. It uses the E-mount interchangeable lens system and is compatible with any Sony E-mount lens (not included). Share videos and photos with the NFC One-touch control and Wi-Fi capabilities of this Sony camera body..

Fabulous IQ, not as sturdy as my M43 cameras

I moved to the A7 from an Olympus EM1 (and before that a Panasonic GH2), as I wanted the higher IQ and more flexible depth of field capabilities of the full frame sensor. I have been absolutely blown away by the image quality and output file flexibility of this camera since I got it last summer. Every time I go out and shoot, the results are exactly what I have been looking for in my gear for years.
So, why am I only giving this four stars? Well, I am gentle with my gear, and yet I have already started having some hiccups with this camera. The C3 function button has become intermittent, requiring two presses before it will work. More importantly, the mount has loosened up since I got the camera, and now both native and adapted lenses wobble on it. This is especially pronounced with my LAEA4 adapter and my adapted Sony A-mount lenses, which wobble so much at the camera/adapter interface now that they occasionally lose contact with the body, and refuse to respond until I wiggle the adapter a bit.
I have tried to contact their service people about the problems I am having (Precision Camera), but they are impossible to get a hold of, so I will probably just use this until it completely fails, and then send it in when I have no other option.
I suspect that the newer version of this camera (A7II) has solved a lot of these problems, but it's bigger than the A7, and I really prefer the A7 form factor. I just wish they had put this model together a little bit better.

hard drive fail
By leftiebob
Best Buy return policy is 15 days. Computer hard drive failed in 25 days. Best buy said you should have paid for extra protection, but you didn't, so go away.
Anybody want to buy a $400. piece of junk?

There's a year warrantee through HP....
June 5, 2015
All you have to do is call them and send it in and they will fix it. HDs fail sometimes, it happens. It's not Best Buy's problem, and you don't have to buy an extended warrantee to get it fixed!

Stay in touch with this 15.6-inch Samsung notebook computer. Its Bluetooth capability connects it to Bluetooth devices for wire-free convenience, and its built-in webcam facilitates video conferencing. This Samsung notebook computer has 12GB of DDR4 RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor for speed, and it has a 1TB hard drive to hold plenty of files.

Works great at first
By SchoolGirl
So I bought this laptop about 6 months ago and fell instantly in love. It had all of the features I was looking for which included being a 2-in-1, having great picture quality, and worked fast.
I am not a techy kind of person so I did numerous searches on which computer to buy and even had the assistance of my brother who is a tech expert. I went into the store with a different laptop in mind, but left with this one, because it seemed to meet greater standards that my previous one. However, I only did minimal searches on reviews because I had my heart set on buying this once I played with it for a little bit in store.
**My Reason for Only Giving It Three Stars**
This computer worked smoothly at first; however, within a month I started to notice complications. I hadn't dropped it or spilt anything on it, so I know it had to have been an issue with the manufacturing. The screen goes a dark blue color randomly, and I have to continuously restart my computer. Not only that, but the mouse disappears constantly. I have followed tutorials and faq sheets on how to fix these issues, but for the price I paid, I shouldn't be experiencing these problems for at least a year or two.
The picture quality and speed are great, and it wasn't too outrageously expensive for a laptop, which is why I gave three stars. Otherwise, I would recommend people not buy this laptop.
The screen switches between tablet mode and laptop mode without permission sometimes, and the fans are at an awkward angle, so using a laptop fan desk doesn't keep it from over heating. If you play any type of game it will likely overheat quickly (this includes Sims and Roller coaster Tycoon). The battery life no longer stays at the original hours listed. I get at least 1 full hour, maybe an hour and a half when fully charged. I REPEAT, I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS LAPTOP FOR 6 MONTHS. My last laptop was only $400 and lasted five years even with being dropped and whatnot. This is ridiculous.

Two things
February 3, 2017
1)The computer you are posting about is not the same one as this one, as this one was just released. You have the previous generation of it, which is the one that was being sold six months ago. This one has been out for about a month.
2) If you are having all of these problems, you need to send it in for warrantee repair. It does have a year warrantee, so I don't know why you haven't tried that yet? I would strongly suggest you do send it out before your warrantee runs out....

Does this computer come equipped with the Microsoft Suite?

I'm a teacher and need to be sure this laptop comes with word, excel, powerpoint, etc so I can use it in my classroom and at home.
It comes with a trial version of Office 365, so after the first 30 days you have to either buy a stand-alone version, or else subscribe to a monthly service from MS.

Is the battery replaceable

Yes, it is replaceable. It comes as a separate unit in the box that you snap into place.

Can you use the touchscreen to edit photos in Photoshop? Specifically with a pen/stylus to outline around photos?

No, Photoshop does not allow this feature. You would have to have an external tablet for it to work. However, the most recent Corel Painter does allow you to use the touch screen to draw with.

Editing Videos

I am a YouTuber, and I'm trying to become more serious about it by getting a good laptop that will work well with Windows Vegas for video editing as well as decent memory space. Is this a good laptop for the kind of thing I need?
If you want to do video editing, you need a faster and more capable processor than an i3. At LEAST an i5, with lots of RAM, or an i7 would be much better. Otherwise, you will spend half your time waiting for it to process your files....
