I am planning to buy the SBG6580 modemnto replace the SBG860A that I am currently renting from TWC. How reliable is the SBG6580 modem? Should the SBG6580 increase my internet speed?
We bought (saved money by not renting) an SBG6580 a few years ago, during which time it has worked with no problem that could be attributed to the modem: with one computer wired and one wi-fi. The one wi-fi issue was due to the computer chronically failing to retain wi-fi settings; I eventually opted for a wired connection. Regarding wi-fi: we have had guests from Aruba, Colombia, and Argentina who have used this modem with smart phones to keep in touch with family members and never had a problem. Where we live internet speed (Comcast) gets slow on holiday weekends, etc. - friends from other parts of town report complain slower speeds at those times si again, I cannot blame the modem. Our Apple TV is also connected to this modem yet Netflix (that get us HD) never slows down, even when internet is crawling and websites fail to open.

Yes and the Nikon 60mm G doubles as a nice portrait lens mounted on DX or crop cameras even though it is designed as a close-uplens.
