I have been looking for a way to get Atmos into my surround system. I bought a Definitive system knowing that I can stack the Atmos speaker on top. The floorspeakers come with a nice top brushed aluminum plate that can be removed and the Atmos Speaker slides right into the top. And if you do not use the Atmos speakers you can just set the metal plate right on top. This way you get no dust in the top.

not solid enough

Definitive makes 2 different types of brackets plastic ones and metal ones. I think the plastic ones are not strong enough for the 800 or 1000 surround sound speakers. If you use them on a center channel speaker they should be ok because the 1000 series center channel speaker uses 2 brackets, while the surround speakers uses only one bracket, which again I think needs the metal bracket. I would definitely recommend the metal bracket.

perfect surround speakers

These "smaller" speakers have great sound. Make no mistake they are packing a punch. When you hold one you realize that there is awesome sound in there. They are actually heavy, heavier that I thought when I first bought them. It took me some time to decide between these and the 1000 series bookshelf speakers. They are a bit lighter and the bracket that Definitive Technology makes just doesn't look that strong. Just thought it might be better fro my needs. Awesome little speakers

I have this subwoofer with a pair of 9020 floorspeakers and a 1000 series surround system. The 9020 series has not as much bass as a 9040 series speaker but with this woofer they are perfect. I think the 9040 has too much base. So I am very happy

I love this speakers. I listened to the 9040 as well. The 9040 has a lot of bass too much for me. The 9020 with a nice definitive subwoofer are awesome.
