I have had video game consoles back since befor Atari (I had a Fairchild). I had the Xbox 360 and all play stations up to 3 (want to get a 4 soon). This is my favorite device ever. Not just the game play, the functionality of the media center, the apps (Netflix), etc. My fav is the elite controller. This is the best, most responsive, completely configurable, comfortable controller I have ever used. It had improved my gameplay, responsiveness with fighting and ducking and my aim. Once the controllers are available again (sold out til spring!) I will drop the $150 for a second one for two player games.

Ah yeah, Tomb Raider is back and I love it again. I hated the last TR. The story, the cut scenes, the controls, the targeting system. This version fixes all of that. The story is much better, the environments are much more fun to explore, it takes advantage of the capabilities of my elite Xbox one controller, survivor vision is more clearly defined, targeting works better (I am a casual, older woman player who plays on easy with full targeting assist). Every bit of this game is superior to the last one. If you are looking for a fun game you should consider this one. If you are a parent there is violence and blood. Some scenes in the flooded archive environment were graphic and could be disturbing. Lots of dead bodies and burned people in pain. Not sure I would want my 10 year old niece to play it, but if my 15 yr old nephew wanted to I would probably let him but check in or be with him in areas I found disturbing.

This isn't a review of the tech. It's an iPad. It is a review of my user experience. For the way I use it (email, web, Facebook, Pinterest) it's too dafb big. I use it in my lap in a recliner and it is very hard to hold and navigate with bigger is not better in this case. The extra real estate causes problems too. Sometime apps get confused and hang with the display either too big or too little. Other apps try to leverage the extra real estate and that's not always a good thing. Words with friends uses that space to run non stop distracting videos. I can't use this ipad to play anymore because it's distracing. I end up playing on my phone. I am sure it's a wonderful piece of equipment for more sophisticated end users. It's just not to my liking and I wish I had purchased a smaller ipad. It IS nice for you tube and Netflix, HBO go. So I have expanded how I use it by enjoying those apps more than ever before, so that's a plus. Anyway, it's not the iPad, it's me. I recommend playing with one before buying.
