I have the kit's lense (16-50) and the zoom (55-210) but this is my favorite. With all the lights in the room on I can make Hollywood quality video of my kids playing (at ISO 800 f/2). Very sharp and fast focus too. More expensive than Nikon or Canon 50mm f/1.8 but this seems to be a problem for all Sony E lenses. Not too much to take a star off.
Capture vibrant videos and images with this Sony telephoto lens. Internal optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps deliver clear handheld shots, and the internal AF mechanism operates silently during movie recording for reduced noise interference. This Sony telephoto lens boasts two ED glass and two aspherical elements for high optical performance across the zoom range.

It's slow but that's not a con because its specs say so. Well built, decent focusing speed, decent image quality. 1 star off because it's too expensive. Other brand's lenses in this zoom range are faster (f/3.5-5.6) and cost slightly less.

I had a Nikon D7000 and was frustrated with its video ability. Bought the A6000 and couldn't be happier. The Nikon focuses slightly better but the A6000 blows the Nikon out of the water for video. Also, the Sony is so small and light. I stuck with DSLR for a long time because I thought the optical view finder is much better than an EVF, but this Sony's EVF is so good I have no regret. I would say the overall experience is equal to a decent DSLR but it's much more compact and the Sony beats all DSLR for video.
