A must if you buy a Bosch Dishwasher

We were suggested by our sales person that we should buy the Bosch brand power cord. At the time, my husband was not sure since we still had the power cord from our old dishwasher. So glad we did because when my husband installed our Bosch dishwasher he said the other power cord would have not worked unless he "spliced" it. Installation with this power cord and the actual dishwasher was very easy for my husband and we didn't have to pay an installation fee of $120.

I reviewed, and reviewed dishwashers before we purchased this Bosch. I spoke with appliance sales people, appliance repair workers and friends and everyone said hands down to not bother with any brand but Bosch. I agree it is a top notch dishwasher and it washes like a dream, is fairly quiet and is made of high quality materials. Nothing about this dishwasher feels flimsy. My only thing I was a little disappointed with was all the reviews said it was so quiet you could not hear it running. I totally disagree with these statements. In fact, you can hear the gurrgling noises from the overflow tube when it turns on and a couple more times during operation. You can also hear water bustling around while operating (hitting the door and the sides of the dishwasher because it is so powerful) and when it changes modes while washing it goes from an almost off like sound to turning on again. Because people said it was so quiet I actually called repair (since it is under warranty) and the repair guy said all the noises are normal and that nothing with a motor is going to be 100% quiet. Realistically, I could agree with this. So do not have expectations that you will not hear a thing....however, is it quiet compared to my 13 year old Whirlpool...absolutely! You can carry on a conversation and watch t.v. but you will hear slight operation noises....just being honest. Another weird thing is after you wash a load and you open the door it has a weird plastic burning smell that is kind of offensive. I called Bosch customer service and she said that it will take some time and many, many washes but that this will go away in time. She compared it to a new car smell and how it takes time to go away. I sure hope it does because it is not the most pleasant smell. You also will find your dishes will not be dry when the load is done because there is no heating element but if you opt for the longer running options it will produce higher temperature water and your load will come out less "wet". Another option I have found works is if you choose to go with the less run time option, is after the load is done, open the door a crack and let it dry out for a couple hours. Also, if you leave it open just a crack instead of closing it between loads you will not have the mildew smell either. This dishwasher is like the high efficiency washing machines and it is so air tight that it can't dry out if you don't leave it open a crack. Nothing is perfect and considering what a great dishwasher this is, I find that doing these small things is not a big deal at all. It does wash the dishes wonderfully and they come out sparkling clean every time.

We normally gravitate to Samsung televisions but this LG, 47" LED television was on sale for a great price. Boy, are we not disappointed. This television has a great picture, it has a crystal clear picture and the screen color is great too. We are very happy with our purchase and the savings compared to purchasing a Samsung. I highly recommend LG!!!
