Great Inexpensive Laptop

I bought this laptop after seeing it on a Best Buy Deal of the day email. I read most of the reviews which indicated it would be perfect for my needs. I mainly need a low cost laptop , that I would be able to run Microsoft office (access, excel, PowerPoint, word), keep up with emails, stream videos (Netflix , YouTube etc), and maybe an occasional game. To my surprise this Pentium laptop is the newer pentium that allows the laptop to run DDR4 memory, which makes the laptop feel very zippy. After about 1hr of having the laptop at home, I was convinced this was a laptop that should of been more then the $329 I paid for it. The screen is not the best I've seen, but it's still very clear with narrow viewing angles. The case feels very sturdy, and typing is very clicky ( I like that). The keyboard isn't backlit , but it's ok cause I don't usually use my laptop at night with no light. Every game I've downloaded from the windows store (minus the triple A games) run flawless on this laptop. Please remember this is not a gaming laptop, and should be over looked if you want to play GTA or COD etc. if your looking to play games that would normally run on your tablet or phone this laptop will have no problem running it. After having th laptop only an hour and knowing I'm going to keep it, I opened the case and installed a 525gb Crucial SSD ($100), and 8gb DDR4 ($47) memory module (this laptop only takes 1 module so it runs single channel). I thought the laptop was zippy when I first got it, and now this thing blazing quick. Startup takes 6 -10 seconds and programs open instantly. So for a little under $500 I bought and made this into a awesome laptop. But don't get me wrong, even with out the extras I put into it, this is still a great Inexpensive Laptop, and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs it for the same things I'm using it for.

I remember playing Uncharted 1 when it came out for PS3, and saying yea this is OK. Then the PS4 came out and I traded all my PS3 stuff in for a PS4 and totally forgot about this series. Recently BestBuy had a mid deal on this 3 Game Pack for $19 how can I pass that up? After playing the first few boards of Uncharted 1 I was completely hooked. The graphics have been updated, and the game play is amazing! The story is so great that I never skipped a cut scene. I finished Uncharted 1 and 2 in 2 weeks. That's not to say it's a quick game cause it's not. But I out a lot of time into the game because that's how great it is. I'll be starting Uncharted 3 in a about week, and can not wait. Then to Uncharted 4.

Good Coffe Mug, Easier Cleaning

I'm a huge fan of the Contigo branded mugs and needed a new one cause I lost my old push button one. This one is way easier to clean and I'm satisfied that after I clean it, everything under the lid is actually clean. It does all the stuff the you would expect (keeping coffee hot). My one gripe, is that there is a sipping side and a side to let air in. If your a dope like me, be careful tilting your head back to far to drink your coffee. Unless you would like to be woken up in the morning by hot coffee coming out of the air side. Other then that, great coffee mug and fits in my car cup holder.

I saw on YouTube that this could be used as a cheaper alternative to buying an actual internal 2tb hard drive for the PS4. So with that said, I can't say how great this is as a "backup hard drive". But if you want to do what I did, the case is glued together and relatively easy to pry apart with out damaging the drive or the case. I followed all the directions I saw on YouTube and after a month this hard drive is running awesome. Please be advised doing this WILL VOID YOUR SEGATE BACKUP PLUS WARRANTY. I was fine with the risk. I know this review won't pertain to 99% of the typical buyer of this backup hard drive. But if you saw the same video I did and was wondering how it would work. I'm here to say it works flawlessly so far.

I played this game originally on the Xbox 360, then when I upgraded to the Xbox One I bought the game again. I recently traded all my Xbox One stuff for a PS4 and didn't have Call of Duty Ghost anymore. Bestbuy offered sometime of lightening deal in the middle of the day, and I got it for PS4 for only $4.99. In my honest opinion the game is so good. The campaign has a great story, and multiplayer is as awesome as any other Call Of Duty. Before I buy video games I always watch clips on YouTube to be sure it's a game I can get into. It didn't come with expansion DLC, buts that fine. I can always wait for it to go on sale in the PlayStation store. If you decide to get the game, happy gaming and maybe I'll see you out there.

Bought this tv for my mother-in law so she could have a tv in her bedroom. Luckily for me, this made her extremely happy. I've already bought 2 other "insignia" tvs before and after a few years they are still going so strong, so when this tv was a deal of the day $120 it was a no brainier. The picture looks great with hd cable. It has 2 hdmi ports so I setup my stepsons Xbox no noticeable ghosting and the colors look great. If your on a budget or cost conscious this tv is a great buy. I also showed 2 of my coworkers this tv while it was a deal of the day, and they bought a couple for their kids bedrooms. I have yet to hear one complaint from anyone. If you can go to the store take a look, you might be surprised what you can get for so little money.

Best Stylus I Have Used

I don't know all the technical aspects of this stylus. But apple definitely made it easy to use. Plug it into your lightening port on your iPad Pro and sync with Bluetooth. After that you can use it just like any other stylus. But the accuracy and no noticeable lag make its the best stylus (even over the surface pro pen) I have ever used. When you draw with it (and I'm not any where near an artist) it's pressure sensitive. So you want to shade in an area it's easy. You want a heavy line press a little harder, want a faint line put very little pressure. It's probably the closest to writing on a piece of paper. Broke a tip? It's replaceable and easily. Of course the replacements tips might seem expensive, but when you buy Apple you know your buying a premium product and with that comes a premium price. Apple Pen ran out of juice? Plug it back into the lightening port for maybe 15-20 minutes and you'll be set for hours. The one thing I would like to see in future revisions of this pen is a pen clip. This way you can clip it to a shirt as oppose to attaching it to the outside of a case or putting it a bag or pants pocket. Other then those very minor things I recommend this item if you like to take notes or draw on your iPad.

Difference between HDD & SSD
And HDD is a conventional hard drive that has spinning discs inside to hold all your data and are almost always slower then SSDs. And SSD is Solid State Disc. Which means no moving parts. Computers with SSDs benefit from having faster startup times, and programs load almost instantly. When copying a file to an SSD it's a lot faster then a HDD. HDDs are generally cheaper and SSDs while they have come down a lot in price over the years are still more expensive. Most laptops use a 5400rpm HDD where as desktop PCs usually use 7200rpm HDDs. Which means how fast the disc will spin when operating. Obviously a 5400rpm would be slower, but they claim to use the slower drives to save on battery. Hope that helps.

Can I play Overwatch on this with good FPS or will it slow down my computer? Playing it on medium/low settings isn't a problem for me.
I hear that overwatch is well known for not being power intensive. A core i5 with 8gb should be enough to play on low / medium settings. Your best bet is to go on YouTube and search the laptop or the specs of the laptop for gaming. But I do recall watching videos of this game running on somewhat low end machines.

can it be connected to a VGA monitor? I see is does not have a VGA port but wondered if there is an adapter or something to connect it using a USB port or something.
There's an HDMI port on the right hand side of the machine. If you search BestBuy.com for hdmi to vga cable they have one for $24

Besides viewing cable TV, can I attach a Roku stick to this TV and have it bring in Netflix and similar streaming services?
Yes your Roku stick can be plugged into 1 of the 2 HDMI ports in the back of the tv.
