Maybe it was my high expectations. Or maybe the screen play could not keep up with the writers high level of production. But honestly it was almost anticlimactic. It hurts to see this happen to such a new top of the line fantasy writing story like the young Harry, but in a way all sequels eventually suffer this fate. Call it diminishing returns but The Deathly Hallows suffers the same fate.

Kevin Costner is capable of carrying most any movie. But this movie was better that just him looking serious all the time. (but he did it a lot). The supporting cast expecially Jennifer Garner were manequins. But the writing was very good and held the game of drafting a football player just enough to make it a decent watch.

SIMPLY PUT, IT DIDN'T TRANSLATE WELL TO 3D BECAUSE THE SUBJECT MATTER WAS TOO DARK. I FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO WATCH, AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE 3D VERSION TO ANYONE.

CAPTAIN ARCHER WAS TOO ROBOTIC. SCOTT BAKULA STYLE WAS A POOR CHOICE, FOR A CAPTAIN OF THE 1ST WARP 5 SHIP. THE SERIES LACKED THE EMOTION NEEDED FOR THOSE EARLY DAYS OF SPACE TRAVEL. TPOL WAS A GREAT CHOICE AS THE VULCAN AS WAS THE REST OF THE CREW. HOWEVER THE WRITERS FADED OUT FAST AFTER THE XINDI CRISIS. I WOULD RATE IT 3 STARS. NOT UP TO TYPICAL STAR TREK STANDARDS.
