I have a 1440p that is perfect for PC gaming but I really wanted a large 4K monitor as a spare for my PC as well as a main for my X1X and PS4. I took the plunge on this monitor and it has been perfect for me.
It is a TN model so be aware that the colors and view angles won't be as amazing as an IPS model. With that said, the image is still extremely nice. I would recommend it for those desktop console gamers like me who aren't fans of using a large laggy TV.
Note that "HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color" must be turned on in order for the PS4 MUST be turned on for the PS4 to output 4K. Otherwise you will be limited to 1080p.
Also note that the calibration our of the box is MEH for gamers. Spend some time tweaking until it looks great.

High performance equals heat. There is no way around it. Dissipating the heat means fan noise. Most manufacturers will sacrifice performance or mobility to make their machines quieter. I take performance any day.

I only had one flat power cord to hide and this did the trick. I wish the edges were sanded up a little better but it was very easy to cut it with a small hacksaw. the sticky tape is very powerful (which is a good thing) so prep before placing it on the wall... otherwise be prepared to part of the wall.

This monitor is amazing. Manufacturing date of April 2017, hit 100Hz with no problem, no coil wine, minimal black light bleed and it looks very nice. I purchased a 27inch 144hz 1440p predator last year and this ultrawide is just as impressive for the rpg type games that I play.... and Rocket League

Does this monitor do 4k through the HDMI input? My current monitor only does it through the display port and 1080p on HDMI. Would like to use this for computer gaming as well as hook up the new xbox one x coming out in order to free the tv for the family!

No HDR for either PC, X1X or PS4. With that said, it still looks very nice for all three. I use it on my PC, Switch, PS4 and X1X.

Is the included display port cable capable of 100hz or do I need to purchase that separately?
Yup. It is capable of 100Hz. Note that HDMI will not get you 1440p @ 100Hz though. You have to use a DP cable.

Does this display have an optical output?
Nope, no optical output unfortunately. It does have a basic heaphone jack but that is about it.
