Great Idea Ruined by Bad Software

This hub started out as a great idea that was ruined by an awkward interface and sloppy software. It kept dropping, so I decided to switch from the dual band to the hard wired 5 GHz band for better reception. After fighting to find the MyHarmony software, get it installed, and get the accounts set up correctly, I plugged it in. It immediately erased all of the pre-existing settings. When I got to the network set up, the 5GHz wasn't an option. Evidently, the ancient wireless receiver in the device can't connect to the 5GHz band.

The device itself is awkward to use. You're constantly swiping to the correct screen on the phone to perform basic functionality. You could probably waste an afternoon customizing the options, but why wouldn't basic DVR functions (fast forward and reverse) be on the main screen? The independent device is worthless, because you have to memorize what each button represents, so that you can switch between devices. No 'turn on TV' or 'Turn on Fire Stick'. You have to know that the Fire Stick is one button, and holding down that button takes you to the cable device. I'll be looking to return it.
