This NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000-100NAS router features a VDSL/ADSL modem for fiber broadband and works with select DSL Internet service providers. Wireless-AC speeds up to 1900 Mbps promote rapid data transfer.
Delivers my full Centurylink speed, 44.85/4.65 Mbps. I pay for 40/5 connection speeds and this router/modem gives me what I pay for. Setup is pretty much straight forward. Just follow the Netgear instructions and you'll get 90 percent of the way there, the other 10 percent takes a bit of networking WiFi background (not that I'm a wizard, but you'll have to know what's going on.) At first I had some dropped connection issues with the 20 or so devices I have connected at any one time. I'd optimize settings for Win10 or Android and suddenly our Apple and Samsung TV's would drop connections or be unable to resolve DNS servers, (I found Google DNS servers work the best for me). Then you'd fix Apple connection problems and Win10 and Android would would become problematic (adjusting MTU worked for me). Finally got everyone living happily together and no more dropped connections or modem resets. There were a few more minor problems, but all your answers are on-line. There's nothing you can do about Centurylink service, so don't think this will cure those or bring world peace. It's a great DSL modem/router and does exactly what it's supposed to do.
