The second generation SmartThings hub has really upped the game, providing control of most everything you could need, and more local control to prevent needing to reach out to the internet to simply turn lights on or off.
Setup was easy, requiring only a few minutes to download the app and sign up, and plug in the hub.
The app is the only shortfall here, being somewhat complex and not always intuitive. Still adding items is relatively easy and quick. SmartThings allows more customization than the Wink hub does, which I like.
