We purchased this cook top to replace a hard-working 16 year-old Dacor. Years of heavy use had actually cooked the enamel paint off of the hottest burner. So, with heavy hearts we decided it had to be replaced...and after researching, we choose the Kitchen Aid stainless steel cook top for its ease of maintenance, powerful burners, and good reviews.
I'm very glad we did.
The Kitchen Aid's hottest burner is excellent - great for stir-fry or just getting a nice brown sear on meat. We use the smallest to finish steaming rice and to make delicate sauces. The grates are large and heavy — perfect for serious cooking. There is no problem with them being "too high." Pans heat up quickly and evenly. Cleanup is a breeze - provided that you do after every time you cook.
Neither my husband or I have any complaints — we love it.
