A Must Have Program

Like everyone else it seems, I learned Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on a PC, so when I switched over to Mac I wanted to continue using the same program. For years I used the 2008 version, but when I upgraded my Mac computer recently I needed to buy the new 2016 version. Yes, I could have purchased the on-line version and paid a monthly fee, but I opted for this one-time purchase version. What I do is not so complicated that I need all the various updates that go along with that. The new version of Office for Mac is much like the old one, but there are some improvements. The slight differences in the look and feel of the program, I must say, are on the up side. I like the changes. Again, I'm always comfortable with BestBuy staff, and although items like this are available at a lot of stores, I like to purchase electronics items here.

I purchase flash drives 2 or 3 times a year, and like to get them at Best Buy because they sell good quality items. A couple of times we picked up some cheap flash drive elsewhere while traveling, but they didn't last long. The ones at Best Buy have always been dependable...just one less thing to worry about. The setup is pretty simple; I just had to create an account with Logitech, tell it which TV and accessories I had, download to my new remote (they call it sychronizing) and bingo--it worked. Yes, there are other smart phones, but the i-phone is the best I think. My wife has had one for several years, but this was my first--quite a difference from my flip phone. After seeing how much my wife liked it, I knew that when the day came for me to upgrade that it would be an i-phone. And so far I'm really enjoying it, and it seems easy to learn. Also, since we have Mac computers, it syncs with them. You won't be disappointed.

multiple storage folders
I need to use Apple's time machine which will not utilize the 500GB capacity of this device. Can I create multiple folders on the hard drive, configure time machine to use one, while I use static, copy/paste type storage in the other folder. Or does time machine need the drive exclusively.

Time machine has to be linked to an external drive. As far as I know the drive is then dedicated to the Time Machine backup--at least that's the easiest. Since the cost of external storage is negligible these days, it also makes the most sense to do it that way.
