Deal breaker 7 minute 4k recorder

I really liked this camera and hated to return it. But the 7 minute limit for the 4k was a deal breaker. For people who only do short video clips then you will love this camera. Excellent photos also. My other camera is the Canon SX60. I think the Nikon B700 takes better photos and video. I prefer the SX60 mainly because it has a hot shoe and mic jack.

Excellent low light camera

love this camera. Excellent photo and video. Works great alone side my HX90V. I use the RX100 for low light photography, and the HX90V for the long zoom reach. I know have the RX10, A6000 with the SEL35F18 as a tandem. What I really like about the RX100, is the size and photo quality of this little camera. I find myself using it more than the others. I still think its the best point and shoot camera to buy under $500.00 Photo just to show that I own the cameras.

First of all. let say I like this camera, and all of its features. The big negative, is the photo noise issues. I have been a very loyal Sony customers for over ten years. I really like their products. I also own the RX10 and the A6000. Bigger chip cameras, and both are excellent for photo and video. This HX90V not so much for photo, but excels in the video department. I also own the HX20V. In my opinion I see no difference in image quality. I was hoping with this new model it would be better. I have read other reviews saying the same thing. Other than that I really like this little gem of a camera. I got mine as an open box. With a couple of Gift cards plus tax and all for $350.00. This is the price I think this camera should be selling for. One other thing I like bring up, is that this is not a pocket camera. It will fit in your pocket, but Sony even says in its user manual not to put it in your pocket or you might damage it. The first thing I want to get for this camera is a Sony screen protector. Its a must. I have them on my A77, RX10, A6000. I suggest getting the one that is made by Sony. Never had an issue putting them on. So Sony. if your listening please come out with a firmware update addressing the noise issues with this camera..

Must have prime lens

The Sony SEL35F18 is a great lens for my A5100. I had the 50 but return it for this lens. In my opinion the 50 was a little to tight for everyday use. The 50 was a little sharper. But not by much. Both are excellent for video and low light. I know its a little pricey. But I'm more than satisfied with the purchase. I'm not a beginner. I do shoot pro photography. I highly recommend this lens.
